At first we were put into a very tiny room with no view and no
soundproofing. Also, we could not use the restaurant at the hotel
because it was closed for a staff party. However, when we contacted the
front desk, even though it was staffed by temps because it was staff
party night, we were treated very courteously. Within ten minutes they
found us another room that was more than satisfactory. Our new room was
twice as large and had a balcony overlooking the water. The view was
fabulous and the room was very comfortable. The adjoining rooms were
empty as that wing was undergoing some renovations, but the construction
was no inconvenience to us. As for the restaurant, there were plenty of
other good restaurants within walking distance. On our second evening we
stopped in the hotel restaurant for dessert, and it was fabulous. The
food was presented most appealingly, and the view and ambience were
wonderful. This was a special weekend as we were celebrating our
anniversary, and we were not disappointed!

This is a wonderful hotel. I have stayed there many times and have
always been comfortable there. The setting for the hotel - in the middle
of the False Creek- is interesting and the view from the restaurant
looks out over the water. The rooms are clean and well maintained. They
are especially pleasant if you ask for a room with a balcony.

Being on Granville Island and the Emily Carr College gives it a really
artsy feel. We had a suite on the third floor with offered wrap around
views of False Creek. You need to upgrade to a suite to really have that
spacious feel.
The beds were very nice, it was only the carpets that were a little worn
and took away from the renovated feel.

Granville Island Hotel “Nestled along False Creek, this elegant and
intimate hotel puts Granville Island at your doorstep.”—Constance

Though this may not be the most elegant hotel, the overall quality,
service, location and quirky charm makes it the only place I can imagine
staying in Vancouver. I think the Granville Island Hotel has a new and
an old wing. Ask to be placed in the North wing, and definitely ask for
a water view. Nice and fully equipped and quite comfortable. Enough for
any traveler. What sets this hotel apart is the location on the artsy,
edgy "island" of Granville Island (really not fully surrounded by
water). The Granville Street bridge over False Creek (a wide and
bustling waterway) looms large over the island... and I mean way-high up
in the sky! It really dominates the feel of the entire island, which is
actually quite large itself. And the former industrial and marine
buildings converted to galleries, theaters, shops and restaurants make
this a destination within a destination. You never need to leave the
island! And I haven't even mentioned the Public Market! The best in
produce, flowers and ethnic foods... awesome! If I lived here, this
would be the only place I shopped for fresh food, sausages, seafood,
cheese and sides. Finally, the Dockside Restaurant in the hotel, though
not inexpensive, served up three fantastic meals with beautiful
panoramas of the city. There's a separate pub and a beer brewery built
right into the middle of the hotel as well. This is a stop for many
tours and tourists, and I was thrilled to call it my temporary home.

We stayed in this newly renovated hotel and attended a play while in Vancouver.
The staff were extremely friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the water view from
the room. The hotel was perfectly situated and we enjoyed this quiet and
romantic stay in this glorious city. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, very helpful but not over fussy staff and excellent restaurant
with wonderful views. Ask for a room with a water view. Its not cheap but it is
very good. We went to the public market most days for breakfast,

Though the hotel was not in the heart of downtown Vancouver, it was ideally
situated for exploring the city. I loved the fact it was next door to the famous
"Public Market" a must see for any foodie (of which I am). We enjoyed dinner and
I can't express enough how fantastic the service was. Our waiter's name was
Grant and he bent over backwards for us, he got us a table overlooking False
Creek and was extremely charming.

Great views of downtown. Excellent location. Very good in house brewpub and
restaurant. Centrally located and adjacent to a wonderful central market. Very
satisfied with one very important exception: the room air conditioner cycled on
and off in a somewhat noisy manner; the second night I turned it on max/high and
that seemed to cure it.

The Grandville is a very nice hotel with a great staff at the front desk. Very
friendly and helpful. The only concern that I have is the room service. They did
not bring our entire order. By the time we realized that we were missing items,
like our pot of coffee and fruit spreads for our toast, we had to already meet
up with our friends to check out. I would still recommend this hotel but double
check your order if order anything from room service.

I stayed here after all the rave reviews. There are many pluses for this hotel,
but a few caveats:
The rooms are small and sparsely furnished. There is no easy chair.
Do not hire a car and try to park it here. Granville Island is very busy, & I
frequently
could not find hotel parking. The daily parking charge is $12.
The V-shaped hotel has its restaurant and bar seating within the V, making for
noisy
evenings in your room.
The hotel restaurant merits only 3*, with slightly above average food (also
expensive)
Their Microbrewery is much praised. I disagree: the beers are lightweight.
However the hotel is very nice, and the staff very helpful. Being on Granville
Island is a real treat.
