I decided to stay here for my first visit to Vancouver, because of the
corporate rate I received as well as the hotel's location. The location
is downtown, a few blocks in from the waterfront--walking distance from
Art Museum, Robeson Street, Davie Village, and Granville St--and right
next to underground train station. Hotel had recently been renovated and
the pictures on hotel's website resembled what I saw in person. Beds are
extremely comfortable. Staff was quite responsive when needed. The
Concierge was excellent and quite knowledgeable about the city and
on-going activities. My only two complaints: 1) Door Man was not around
to assist with door when I arrived at 2:00 pm. He was absent on several
other occasions as well. 2) The walls between rooms and floors are thin
so sometimes you could hear your neighbors. Other than these two minor
issues, the hotel is a great place to stay.

The Hyatt Regency in Vancouver was actually my second choice because my
first choice had no rooms available. As it turned out, I now have a new
favorite hotel in Vancouver!
A lovely hotel in the heart of downtown, the Hyatt Regency is close to
many of the city's most popular attractions. Located on Burrard Street,
the waterfront and the trendy Robson Street area are just steps away,
and Coal Harbour and Stanley Park just short drives up the road. But the
hotel itself and the service guests receive are far more important than
even a stellar location.
The Hyatt Regency does not disappoint.
Rooms are well-appointed, and many have city views. The property offers
the usual amenities including a business center, fitness room, concierge
service, and The Gallery Lounge and the Mosaic Bar & Grille on the
second floor. It is adjacent to one of the city's indoor malls, making
it very convenient to grab a snack, do some shopping, or buy that item
you forgot to pack and simply can't do without.
When booking online, Hyatt offers the option of choosing an upgraded
room for a modest additional fee on a space-available basis. I've used
this option several times in various cities and have never been
disappointed. In Vancouver, an extra $12 a night garnered us a
"superior" room on the 31st floor with a great view of the city and a
peek view of the water beyond. And the AAA rate included either a buffet
or menu breakfast at the Mosaic Bar and Grille.
One drawback is the parking. Be sure to take the "hotel rate" if you're
visiting during the week. On our first night I didn't, and parking the
car from 3:00 p.m. on our day of arrival until about noon the next day
(21 hours) cost a whopping $49! When I brought it to the attention of
Mike, the hotel's manager, he immediately provided free parking for our
second day, then charged us the hotel rate of $30 for our final day.
That was but one example of the hotel's excellent customer service!
The Hyatt Regency Vancouver has a AAA Four-Diamond rating and, based on
our experience, it is well-deserved. We will definitely return

The Hyatt Regency on Burrard St. in Vancouver is located right in the
middle of downtown Vancouver. The service and check-in was painless and
the room was very nice. We had a great view of downtown Vancouver from
our floor to ceiling windows. For cruisers it's only about 4 blocks from
the cruise harbor. Restaurants are abundant in the area and an easy walk
to get to. We used the Canada Line from the airport to get here...the
terminal was only about 4 easy blocks from the hotel and we walked to
the hotel "pulling our wheeled luggage. The Elephant and Castle pub and
restaurant is only a few blocks down the street and I'd recommend this
for the dining experience.

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights at the end of April/early May for a
conference, and I brought my husband and two small children. The hotel
is very baby-friendly, providing a pack n' play at no extra cost with
sheet, blanket, and baby towel, and complimentary pack of baby wash and
lotion. The hotel room had a king bed in it, and was spacious with a
desk that had easy outlet access for a laptop. There was a safe, and
hair dryer available, and flat-screen TV. There was a minifridge with
beverages that you could purchase, but the freezer was not cold enough
and the knob was removed so I could not decrease the temperature.
However, the staff informed me that if I needed to freeze the icepack
for my baby's cooler, I could ask the front desk to store it for me. I
heard barely any noise from other rooms. The staff was friendly and
helpful and was enthusiastic about recommending places to eat or places
to go. We had a great view of downtown, only blocks from the convention
center and walking distance to Stanley park. If you bring your own car,
the parking is actually with an adjoining shopping center and is rather
expensive through the hotel, and you might want to consider just paying
the weekend rate through the center instead of the hotel and then using
the hotel rate for the even more expensive weekdays. The adjoining
center conveniently has a Tim Horton's and McDonald's and Rexall Drugs
in it.

My choice to stay at this hotel was the location and the price. The
rooms are renovated and I loved the design. The only thing that I notice
is the amenities in the bathroom wish the were more, but the rest of it
was beautiful decorated ,with a great bed and a huge window that makes
the room look even bigger. The location is excellent as well. Plus the
train for the airport is 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

I was very satisfied with my stay. As usual, Hyatt charges too much for
additional services: parking, internet, etc. But I've come to deal with
it. The only complaint I can find is the towels. The towels in the room
might be acceptable at Motel 6, but not Hyatt Regency. They were paper
thin and not acceptable. However the bathrooms are fantastic with
rainmaker shower heads in the ceiling. Rear mirror lighting, etc.

This hotel had all of the essentials for a good hotel stay. The rooms
were spacious, clean and functional- nothing fancy really. The staff was
very nice and the concierge extremely helpful. There are also several
tours that pick up right from the hotel (Big Bus Tours and the free
shuttle to Capilano Suspension Bridge), so that was very helpful. The
only negative about the hotel was the steep charge for the in room
internet service. This hotel was in a very central location in the city
and I could walk everywhere from it! There is also a 24 hour coffee shop
and 24 hour McDonald's right outside the front door. I would definitely
stay here again on a return trip to Vancouver!

Chose this hotel for perfect location - ease to get to University of
British Columbia campus, walk to Robson St and area shopping and to view
the outdoor Olympic flame. Arrived around 10:30pm after a 7hr flight.
Check-in has now become impersonal as it is by touch screen. Took our
key cards and headed to our room... that would be the one that answered
an email to requesting extra towels, two beds and a quiet room. Walked
into a room with one king bed for the 4 of us... back down we all went
where I found a human to fix the problem who didn't seem to care. Room
service staff polite, quick but food not so great. Room was quiet and
very comfortable and clean - no complaints. Both mornings we headed
directly out the door to Tim Hortons for coffee and apple fritters - our
favorites. We would stay again here - all in all it was great.

Central location, staff went above and beyond when asked for
recommendations/directions, rooms are what you would expect with a few
modern elements. Convenient connection to underground shopping. |
