central luxury! We had an apartment with full kitchen, home cinema
system, monster tv and big comfortable bed. What more could you ask for.

Just like what the other reviewers were saying, this is definitely not a
five star hotel after all since the room furniture, decorations and TV
require some kind of makeover. However, the location is definitely a
plus to me since it is conveniently located right next to Robson Street
which houses a lot of fine restaurants and shops. In addition, the hotel
does possess a very friendly and courteous hotel staff. From the doorman
to the concierge, everyone was very highly dedicated to his or her
respective duty which impressed me a lot. Last but not least, there is
an IGA Supermarket located right next to the hotel. For those with
infants or toddlers, if you need to buy groceries such as milk, fruits,
diapers or even baby formulas, I would seriously consider staying at
this hotel since all you you have to do is cross the side street from
the hotel to get to there. One word of advice for those who is arriving
in a car, I would recommend parking elsewhere since the hotel parking is
very expensive compared to the other lots in the area. In short, if you
do not care about how the hotel rooms looks as long as the hotel is
centrally located, I would recommend this hotel to anyone since Hotwire
offered such a good rate for this hotel. However, if you do care about
how the room looks and feels, I would recommend staying at the some
other hotels such as Fairmont Pacific Rim, Hotel Shangri-La or St Regis
which are a lot more pricier, of course.

We reserved a one bed room suite for our family of four. When we arrived
the staff was very friendly and professional. In fact, over the entire
stay we were asked numerous times if we needed anything. The location
was within two blocks of the sky train station which makes
transportation convenient. I would suggest if you do not like city noise
then request a room not facing Burrard Ave, but we loved the hustle and
bustle of the city. The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable.
The separate bedroom was great to have when traveling with teen age
boys. The kitchen is a little small and modestly equipped but very
functional. The living room has a sofa bed, large flat screen and free
DVDs are available at the front desk. We had a great time in the indoor
pool and hot tub, which we had to ourselves. If you get a chance to
visit the Gerard Lounge make sure to meet Walter at the bar. He provides
excellent service and with his english accent makes conversation a
blast. Overall we were extremely pleased and will stay here again.

12 June 2011. What a lovely hotel to spend our last night in Canada. We
had travel from Kelowna and were pretty tired.
Check was a breeze, very friendly and helpful reception staff. The guys
that help us with our luggage were great. Our favorite were the
Concierge staff they really went over and beyond the call of duty they
were so very help, kind, curious, friendly and most of all they made a
huge impact on our stay.
Our room was huge for a standard one bedroom, it really was huge,
wonderfully presented, and it was comfortable, the bed was a huge king
size, with crispy clean sheets and fluffy pillows. The balcony was so
lovely to stand out on and have coffee even though the weather was
rather unpleasant. We had dinner and breakfast in the dinning room and
it was fantastic as was the service.
The pool, gym, spa and laundry were all fantastic, we went home with
clean clothes without having to look for a laundry mat or take home.
We stay on the 8th Floor. It was ok.
All in all it was a lovely place to stay at. One disappointment and that
was the internet was not included in our room rate.Reviews La Grande Residence at The Sutton Place

Everything you need for an extended stay is within a couple of blocks.
Market, movies, great restaurants and shopping all close and the room
was so comfortable with a balcony to just sit and relax in the mornings
and late evening. David was the perfect concierge listening to our needs
and helping us navigate at our comfort level for our interests and price
range. As always, you always help us make a great decision on a
hotel.
