My wife and I stayed here for just one night, prior to our cruise. Even though
we landed YVR after dark, we decided to try the airport shuttle instead of a
taxi and were dropped off just across the street...no problem.
I echo the other review about possible check-in lines being hit or miss...we had
no problem...very brief wait. I was traveling on a discounted rate, and was
fortunate to be upgraded to practically the top floor with a waterview...very
nice. Our stay here was very brief, but we found the staff to be very helpful,
and especially appreciated one of the young bellman's suggestions to try a
nearby grocery market/eatery (very upscale with cheeses from all over the
world).
The bedding was great, the location was excellent for us. Would we have been
staying here at regular rate? Probably not....as it was, however, we very much
enjoyed the place and I recommend it if the rate suits you.

I am a Marriott Rewards Platinum member and I spend 100+ nights a year on the
road. This hotel is a slightly above average Marriott in comparison of the other
Marriott's that I have stayed at. I stayed for four nights at this Marriott
hotel. I have stayed at this hotel in the past.
Value: At $ 139.00 CAD (a trade show rate) plus taxes per night was a good
value.
Location: The location of the hotel was very good for me based upon my itinerary
for my trip. It took less than 20 minutes (non-rush hour) for a taxi ride (~$ 30
CAD) from the airport. You can take the monorail from the airport within two
blocks for $ 2.00 CAD.
Front Desk Service: I have to give the front desk a good mark in regards to
service.
Room: I had a room on the 30th floor. The size of the room that I had was small
to average. The shape of the hotel isn’t rectangle…there are curves and some
rooms are smaller than others depending upon their location. The bathroom in my
room was very small…it was for one individual only…it would have been impossible
for two adults to be in the bathroom at the same time. When I stopped by the
room of a business associate, the bathroom in his room was much bigger than
mine.
Room Desk: It has new Marriott desk\workspace. There were several outlets,
various inputs to the TV, a CAT5 outlet and etc. It was outstanding.
Refrigerator: There was no refrigerator in the room.
TV: The TV was a flat screen. One of the two problems that I encountered was
with the TV. When I arrived into my room around midnight on my first night, I
discovered that the remote control didn’t work (batteries were dead) and you
couldn’t use the controls (i.e. channels) on the TV…it was replaced the
following morning. After a long flight, I like to rewind before hitting the
sack. A few days later, the remote control stop working and they replaced it
again. They need to check the batteries.
Bed: It was very comfortable.
Billing: Within minutes of entering my hotel room, I signed up for the Wired for
Business plan…high speed Internet service and free local and long distance
(Canada and US) phone calls. The cost was $ 15.95 CAD per day (24 hours). This
is a good deal since you can easily rack up $ 50 in roaming fees per day if you
are using a US based cellular phone service and cell phone in Canada. After I
signed up on line for this service, I immediately called the front desk to
confirm my Wired for Business purchase as well. When checking out, there were $
200 CAD of long distance phone calls to the US (the US based phone calls were
listed on my bill) and at first, the person didn’t want to take off the charges
by telling me that these calls were not US phone numbers and etc. Finally, they
took the charges off.
AC\Heat: There is a thermostat in the room and the temperature in the room was
controlled to my likings.
Wake-up Calls: Most hotels have a system that automatically makes the wake up
calls. An actual person made my wake-up calls. One time, I hit the wrong button
when picking up the phone therefore I didn’t answer the call…within a few
minutes, they made a second call.

Right off the bat, I have to say that I horde Marriott points when I travel for
business and redeem them to stay at Marriott hotels for free when I travel for
leisure. On this trip to Vancouver I stayed at the Pinnacle for free, for two
nights, and my conclusion is that I probably wouldn't have stayed here if I had
to pay for it. I don't think any hotel is worth its rack rate . But having said
all that, I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is close to everything
(waterfront, Stanley Park, Robson Street, Davie Street, Chinatown, etc.), the
staff is attentive, housekeeping is spot-on, view is amazing (24th floor looking
northwest). The room even came with a free umbrella that saved my behind as I
didn't pack one and it poured the whole time I was in Vancouver.

Great staff great location for cruise passengers. Everything was very good. We
walked to leave for a cruise with our luggage and it was around a 10min walk-
very do able for most active people-A great location for all activities- a
grocery store across the street- close to Stanley park and a great bargain.

I frequent this hotel for business and it is always fabulous. The staff is
pleasant and very helpful. And contrary to a review by "Diane", there are queen
and king beds as I have had many fun times in them and the room service prices
are very reasonable for the quality of the food you get.

I have attended several conferences and exhibitions since 2004, at the Pan
Pacific Center and now to the, out of this world, new Vancouver Convention
Center. For Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Renewable Energy for the climatic change
and the environmental sustainability. One of the best hotels in the vicinity and
for prices and service and services, much better. Every visit to Vancouver and
in this hotel is a remarkable visit, after a series of nine trips for the same
purposes. What a view from the 27th floor from the mountains, North Vancouver
Stanley Park and the harbour, in summer, as well as in winter.

I have stayed at this hotel twice and it will be my hotel of choice when
visiting downtown Vancouver in future. The staff are extremely friendly and
accommodating, the rooms are clean and luxurious, gorgeous views of the water
available. Location is close to Gastown, Granville Island and Robson shopping.
The food is expensive, but quality is good. The best feature of this hotel
though is the friendly staff who are more than helpful. The hot chocolate bar in
the lobby on snowy days was a nice touch.

Stayed for three days after cruise to see sites & sounds ov Vancouver and
Whistler. Hotel is perfectly located in heart of city w/lots to do around it. We
ate breakfast at little place right across street (Moonpennies) and for $4.50
you can get a huge breakfast. There are numerous restaurants around hotel (5
minute walk to Gastown area for shopping) and I recommend eating at the Elephant
and Castle Pub -- great food, atmosphere and prices.
Hotel is very nice, room was very large and bathroom has all you need -- the
staff is extremely friendly and will provide you with all sort of directions &
things to see & do. The bed was very comfortable and the gym has some cardio and
a very little selection of weights and machines. We did not use any of the
amenities (restaurant, bar, etc.) in the hotel as there are numerous places
within 5 minutes
Tip: Recommend taking the SkyTrain (Subway) from the airport to the hotel --
cost is $2.50 ($30+ for taxi) and it is a very easy 5-7 minute walk from the
train station (Waterfront) to the hotel. We visited the area (rented from Alamo
and their location is 5 minute walk from hotel) and saw Whistler and Stanley
Park.
Overall great vacation & we would most definitely stay here again.

The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle seems to have it all going for it. It is a brand
new hotel built in the last couple years with a great location in the centre of
the city.
Staff were friendly and warm, check in was swift and painless with luggage
delivery to the room in a matter of single digit minutes. The concierge was
efficient and did not sneer for an instant when asked for the location of coffee
shops other than the one in the lobby, or restaurants that did not charge the
earth.
The room we had assigned was at the front of the hotel and offered great views
overlooking the inlet. In fact, looking at the hotels web-site, I would say it
was the very room (or same location in the tower) used in the main picture. The
room is very odd in shape, the door leads to a short hall (with bathroom to the
right) then a curved right hand turn into the room propper. The rounded shape of
the building is very obvious when in the room, the shape feeling somewhat like
an oddly cut wedge of pie. The upside of this however is that one entire wall
(the rounded edge of the pie) is floor to celing windows overlooking Vancouver.
Our room was on the 11th floor and had the view partially blocked by the
buildings opposite, however I expect that if one had a higher floor, this room
type would be jaw on the floor stunning.
As this hotel is a Marriott, not much more to add - Marriott bed (one of the
best of the chains), Marriott amenities, Marriott Desk, Marriott red glass
bubble lamp, Marriott plush carpet etc etc etc as it is in all Marriott's. -
Farmiliar, luxurious and 'nice' , but perhaps a little uniform from hotel to
hotel by the time you get into the 'gold' status of Marriott Rewards....

Just returned from an overnight at this hotel. Staff were very helpful and went
out of their way to help us see as much as possible in a short time. The
location couldn't be better. Was directly on the bus line (Pacific Coach) and we
were able to walk all over downtown Vancouver. Rooms were clean and lovely.
Bathrooms spotless. Beds very comfy as usual in a Marriott. We would certainly
recommend this hotel if you are visiting Vancouver.

We travelled across from Banff to Vancouver on the Rocky Mountaineer and stayed
in the Marriott Pinnacle on the 16th Floor, where we could see part of the
harbour front. Excellent accommodation and view from our room. The food in the
restaurant was good too. We had room service on our first morning for breakfast
because of all the travelling. Excellent base for water front restaurants, and
banks, tours and the ferry to Vancouver Island. Also ten minute drive from
Stanley Park. Hope to go back another time - fantastic.

This was our first trip to Canada and we picked the best hotel - it was
excellent.
Service was fantastic with nothing too much trouble - it made the holiday.
Restaurant had great food and wine - we would fully recommend this hotel. We
will certainly be staying there when we go back.
Rooms were very clean and spacious - try and book a bay view if you can.

Just what you would expect of a Marriott. Beautifully furnished rooms, superbly
comfortable beds. Friendly helpful staff. Convenient to downtown Vancouver and
the old Gas Town area of shops and restaurants. What more can be said. Good
value for high quality. Take a trip on the city tour tram and up to Grouse
Mountain. A day trip to Whistler is a must by the Rocky Mountaineer - but return
by road or even better Sea Plane!

The Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle is pricey but given its location that isn't
surprising. It is moments away from the waterfront and not far from the famous
Gas Town. We had a 'View' type double room on the 29th floor which, as the name
suggests, looked out over Vancouver harbour and across to North Vancouver.
Couldn't really ask for more! Excellent location, service and facilities.
We did notice some major construction work across the road infront of the hotel.
It is possible that once finished, the new building may block some of the view.

Although a fairly typical bog-standard North American business/leisure 5-star
hotel, the Pinnacle did tick all the boxes and it does have a good location. Our
view was all right, if not spectacular, parking was easy, the breakfasts were
excellent, and the rooms large. We were able to easily walk to anywhere in the
West End and to Stanley Park. I don't remember hearing any noise from the
hallway or other rooms.
We had once stayed at the Fairmont at the waterfront and, over-all, I think that
was a better hotel, but the Pinnacle's location would make me choose it the next
time.

accommodating
staff. The hotel itself is great. The location is walking distance to a number
of points of interest. Great restaurant. What more could you ask for???

travel I have been to Vancouver numerous times, and when I have stayed there on
previous occasions, the hotels have run the gamut from decent to poor. On this
occasion, while attending a Canucks hockey game, I decided to give the Marriott
Pinnacle a try.
The property is relatively easy to get to, though it could be easy to miss as
the signage on the side of the building is somewhat subdued. But from check-in
throughout the course of the stay, the guest feels as if he is in a luxury
hotel. I had a room on the top floor with a king bed and harbor view. The decor
is standard Marriott - nothing terribly flashy - but the layout spacious and
very comfortable. The view was panoramic and provided much scenic beauty. The
bathroom was also spacious and featured stand-alone shower and bathtub. There is
turndown service in the evening, in which a complimentary bottle of water is
provided.
From a location standpoint, the traveler couldn't do much better. Since the
hotel is in a business district, the hustle and bustle does taper off in the
evenings. But one is virtually steps away from Canada Place (including a
SkyTrain stop), and a 5-minute walk from much of the prime shopping and
entertainment in the downtown core. I walked to and from GM Place for the hockey
game, which was an easy 15-minute walk.
Parking is in a garage below the hotel; guest have the option to self-park or
valet (I chose self-park, which was easy). I did not have much chance to sample
the pool or other facility amenities, with the exception of the street-side
lounge, which offers a nice range of drinks and - even better - late-night
dinners after other restaurants and room service have closed. Breakfasts are
also superb. Service - from the concierge to the front desk to servers and
housekeeping - are all first-rate. The room rate - with the currency exchange
factored in - was exceedingly reasonable given the quality of the facility and
overall experience.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again on future overnight or longer stays
in Vancouver, and would recommend it wholeheartedly to friends and family alike.

I've never had a bad experience at the Marriott. I've always been treated well
by the reception and they respect my Silver membership and I almost always get a
room on the 31st floor. The bar is lively at times and the breakfast and dinners
have always been more than palatable. The location is a bit quite, but there is
only a 4 block walk to more livelier establishments for imbibing.
