I stayed at the Pinnacle April 19-22 just before taking a Rocky Mountaineer rail trip to Banff from Vancouver. The staff was very nice and the door men very helpful when I ask for walking directions. My check in was quick and the lady who checked me in was patient and pleasant in moving me to another room when I found the first assigned room was odd shaped and had a noisy AC. The second room on 22nd floor was ideal with a great view of the bay and mountains of North Vancouver. My internet connection was quick and I did receive a daily paper. As a Marriott Rewards Gold member I was provided access to the concierge room on 25th floor which has a nice continental breakfast each morning including hot items such as scrambled eggs. My room even had a nice 42inch flat screen TV with HD. You just have to know that the HD channels are higher up the channel list since they also have the non-digital signal of the all the major local TV stations. I definitely would choose to stay at the Marriott Pinnacle if I return to Vancouver. I also recommend Land and Sea Tours for sightseeing since I took to all day tours to Vancouver Island and Whistler. Both trip and the driver guides were super.

Stayed downtown for two nights to take part in a couple of Playhouse International Wine Fest events. My wife chose this hotel because it is so close to the new convention centre.
We had reserved using the Federal Gov't rate since I'm a civil servant, and were given a corner room on the 10th floor. The king bed was nice and comfortable to sleep in.
Had breakfast there on our final morning and it was good, though the hotel charged a hotel rate for it.
My one small quibble about the hotel was that there was no free newspaper in the morning. This is fairly standard at a lot of hotels I have stayed at, and being a newspaper junkie I needed my fix.

Safe walking distance to shops, restaurants & sky train station connected to Pacific ctr. Taxi ride was 1/2hr & $33.
Friendly reception gave me early check in & accomodating when i asked to leave my luggage locked up when i checked out early.
Room was clean & bed was comfy. Fair sized bthrm had soaker tub & shower.
24-7 access to work out room & steam room. Internet available for fee on lobby floor or use in room.
Here overnight for work training. Meals provided were fresh with wide variety of healthy choices. Ex.: quinoa pilaf, poached salmon, halibut & chicken, lots of vegetable choices
Hotel staff were curtious & came to notify our table when more food was brought out.
Would stay here again for it's location, helpful staff & clean rooms.

Ever get the feeling a hotel was built overnight? That’s exactly how my stay at this downtown Vancouver hotel felt. The disorganized staff struggled getting us a room (though were quick to offer a 30 dollar premium for a city view room), the parking though not unreasonable for the city – was a clunky and awkward process (and be sure NOT to pay 26 dollars a night if you are staying over a weekend were the public rates are lower). The Internet was spotty and failed me when I needed it. After checking with the front desk about the poor wired and wireless connection they told me that there was some kind of “server packet issue” and it was normal and just to wait it out (not the thing you tell to an IT Professional who knows better). Lastly, upon checkout I found that the elevator buttons weren’t working to get down to the lobby. I called the front desk and they said there was a fire alarm test going on and we wouldn’t be able to use the elevators for 20 minutes… nothing like lugging your luggage down ten flights of stairs to leave your hotel on time. I guess in the end it was a fitting end to the stay. I would not recommend this hotel.

During this particular trip, we stayed at 3 hotels, two Fairmont and this one. I think this was my least favorite, unfortunately.
We arrived by car, and although there was a bellhop standing at the door, he neither greeted us nor came over to help us unload our luggage.
We had arrived a little early, before check in time, and they didn't have a room ready, but that was fine. We had an appointment to get to, so we left our bags with the concierge and left. We returned later in the evening, had no problem checking in, and were told our bags would be delivered to us right away. The bags came up, but we were short one, so I talked to the front desk. They had someone search for it, and 20 minutes later I received a call stating that they could not find my bag, and could I come down to identify it?
So down we went and walked all around their storage room, but the bag was nowhere to be found. By this point, it was getting late, we really wanted to go out for dinner, so with the front desk assuring us that they would find it, we went out for dinner. Thankfully, they had located it by the time we returned, and the front desk offered to buy us one item off the room service menu. Still, the stress and worry over our missing bag was just unnecessary. The rooms were small in comparison to the other hotels we stayed at, but the beds were comfortable and clean.

We went to Vancouver on a weekend getaway from Seattle with our two young kids. We loved the hotel, the staff was courteous, the room was nice and quiet, we were on the 18th floor and got a peek-a-boo view of the bay. We picked a rainy weekend to visit Vancouver, but the enjoyable hotel room saved our weekend, at least to a degree (nothing can really save a weekend from rain). Parking is cheap on weekends. You can (and should) choose to do public parking on weekends in the same parking garage as the hotel's, which is $5 for the entire weekend, up until 1:00am Monday. Regular hotel parking is $26 a day.
The location is also very good, right in downtown.
So yes, we'd definitely stay there again.

Great stay. Friendly staff, helpful concierge, clean well appointed room, nice locations, good view. All is well. But here's the tip. Parking is a rip-off. when you pull in, you think that the parking attached to to building is Marriott parking, but it isn't. It's public parking.
If you pay for it directly yourself at the stall near the elevator, you pay $5 for 2 days. If you inquire at the front desk how to pay for parking, they will put it on your bill for $25/day. Be warned!!!!!

This Marriott location does not seem interested in customer service, right from the check-in clerk, to the customer service manager who is responsible for the front desk..all the way to the General Manager, who failed to respond to my request to speak with him. The hotel didn't appear interested in fulfilling the requests guest profiles, so I suggest that any traveler stay away from this property, since there are other more accommodating hotel chains in the city of Vancouver, B.C.
