My husband and I stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel after a cruise vacation. It is located downtown about a two minute drive from the cruise ship terminal, and also located directly across the street from the Pacific Center shopping mall. The hotel staff were wonderful and easily accommodated our request for an early 8am check-in. We stayed in a Luxury King room which was spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable and from the 11th floor we had great views of the city. The bathroom is huge and unlike the previous reviewer my 6'2" husband found the height of the shower head to be just right. The hotel restaurant is very good and there are several other eating options within an easy walk of the hotel. Yaletown with shops and restaurants is about a 20 minute walk or take the Canada line rail system located just one block from the hotel to explore the city. There is building located next to the hotel that is under going renovation, so there is construction noise during the day; we requested a room on the opposite side of the hotel and the construction noise did not bother us at all. Overall great stay and highly recommend this hotel for it's pleasant staff, great location and wonderful room.

We were able to get the room for about $145 out the door. a great price for a hotel in the heart of it all. Everything is very clean, the staff very professional.
The room felt very European to me in the way it was cruise ship space-efficient. small entry, built in cabinetry, small room, but very large bathroom. That was a nice plus, but the ceiling was only inches from my head and the shower was only as high as my shoulder. . once again, very Euro to my American frame. And the room had two TWIN beds, which was unusual for me to see in North America, but mine was surprisingly comfortable.
The bar is beautiful, very pleasing colors and music. Of course it is pricey, but the drinks are stiff and the pours are good. No complaints there overall.
Upon dropping the car off at the valet, $45 set a new record for parking, especially in proportion to the room price. But everyone holds the doors for you and assists in carrying any burdens you might present. I felt like the captain of a ship upon entering and exiting every day.
So, at the price I paid, I feel it was a good value, and I consider myself pretty fancy, but if I had paid $300 a night for two twin beds and a shower I had to kneel to use, I would not be as happy. So this hotel may not be for tall people.

We took advantage of their "Sweet love in the city" package for the last night of our honeymoon. It was well worth it! We arrived and everyone was extremely friendly. We got to our room and they had upgraded us...to an incredible suite with a living room, private dining room, bar area and extra bathroom. Incredible! This was a lovely surprise. Our bedroom had a little balcony with a beautiful view of the city and a huge bathroom that had great lighting for applying makeup. This is hard to come by in hotels!

Our package included champagne and strawberries which the delivered shortly after we arrived. It also included a floral bouquet which I was surprised when the brought it up. I was expecting something very small but the gal arrived with a huge bouquet of beautiful yellow/orange roses tipped in red which she put on our dining room table and took one of the roses and put it in my bathroom. Our package also included dinner at their restaurant Diva. We called to find out if it might be possible to have dinner served in our room and they were more than happy to accommodate. We had an absolutely delicious dinner- we enjoyed their tasting menu which was wonderful! Everything was very fresh and very tasty. We greatly enjoyed it.

The next morning we received a Canadian breakfast delivered to our room which was also part of our package. It was also delicious. We didn't experience any of the construction noise that others have mentioned. We had nothing but excellent customer service. We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back and would recommend to friends. Thank you to the metropolitan for making the last night of our honeymoon very memorable!

The Metropolitan or The Met as the locals call it is currently getting a bit of a hard time because of construction of another hotel next door. But, if you are a business traveler and thus up before 9, or looking for a weekend or midweek getaway where your agenda is not solely centered around sleeping very late, then this is the place for you.
Conveniently located across the street from the Pacific Mall, and thus in the heart of downtown, not to mention steps from the transit station, getting around from the Met is simple. Less than 10 dollars by cab to funky Yaletown, you've got it made.
We loved the executive king room. Amply sized (not palacial if that's what you are looking for) and well appointed. Sparkling clean in every respect with a nicely sized modern bathroom with a nice big shower head and a good supply of toasty hot water. The bed was very very comfortable with an ample selection of pillows. Decor is modern, tasteful and of good quality in the executive room that we experienced. We found our room quite nicely sound proof from hallway noise, quite different from other hotels in which we have stayed recently in the area.
Front desk staff are friendly and efficient, bell staff/doormen and valet were excellent and keen without being annoying. We did not love the DIVA bar. It is a small spot (most of the room is dedicated to the restaurant) which is not the problem. It should work well, with decent ambiance and good furniture, it is just missing a little warmth. Wine prices are in line with everywhere else, appy list is good, but there is just a little somethin' somethin' missing.
We did not have any meals at the hotel, and thus can't comment if the same feel translates to the restaurant or its meals and service.
Overall a fine place to stay, modern and comfortable but not lavish or opulent. Reasonably priced for value and from an accommodation standpoint a good 4 stars. We will stay here again and, like the management, we'll be glad when the construction next door is complete so it can be experienced at its best.

Wonderful central location, can walk almost everywhere. Very near the Skytrain station with Canada Line service to and from the airport, very convenient. Top of the line service, I felt like a valued and respected guest. I asked for a high floor, room had large windows with city lights view......no street noise at all. My second stay there, I'll be back.
Traveled with my 14 year old grandson, he really enjoyed the lovely indoor pool and fitness center.

Just spent March 25-26 here on leisure weekend w/hubby, first time to Vancouver. Location was perfect, .5 block away from subway (easy trip from YVR) and we walked everywhere else. We chose this one from reading positive reviews from others and it didn't disappoint. Hotel was very clean and well cared for. Also got company discount on rate, so we couldn't complain. Concierge helped us figure out the Canadian liquor store differences, delivered our things to our room from the lobby and was extremely friendly and professional. Our king bed was really comfortable and pillows were dreamy. We were unable to sleep in late (after 8 or so) on Friday and Saturday due to the massive neighboring construction project (they said it was going to be done in the fall), but what can you do...when construction wasn't going on, hotel was quite quiet. Had a drink at Diva and the service was excellent. Right next to everything and very walk able to Stanley Park, Chinatown & waterfront. Rented bikes near Stanley Park and biked to Granville Island and really saw the city. A+ experience!!

Although they were doing construction next door during our stay, this was a great hotel to stay in. The hotel staff was very helpful. The rooms were typical hotel rooms, but the bathrooms were amazing! The location was also perfect for our needs. We utilized the fitness equipment which were up to date, and the small indoor pool was a pleasure. I would stay there again.
