Guest Review of the Opus Hotel Vancouver Yaletown

It might be a bit on the pricey side, but the Opus hotel in Vancouver is a great
place to stay. Located in
Yaletown, within walking distance to
Downtown, the hotel is
apparently a top choice for visiting
Celebrities. Room design/comfort, public spaces, service and location are
all good. I would definitely stay here again.

We celebrated our anniversary by staying in one of the Executive Suites, and had
a thoroughly enjoyable experience at the Opus. The staff were prompt,
good-humoured, and the room itself was clean and comfortable. Not one of the
less expensive places to stay in Vancouver, but if you can find the means,
highly recommended.

The Opus hotel is located in the center of downtown Vancouver. The amenities are
great...valet parking, nice bed, complimentary bottled water, etc. The best
feature about this hotel though is the Staff! They are all very friendly,
helpful, and efficient. I was there just for one night for a business trip and
needed restaurant recommendation. The front desk staff was great. She gave
suggestions based on our requested price point and location (walking distance)
and tell us about the type of cuisine and printed the menus for us. The next
morning, she remembered about it and asked how dinner was. I had an hour before
going to the airport, so I left my luggage with the front desk and asked them to
get me a taxi at 11 AM. I came back to the lobby about 10 minutes prior to 11 AM
and the staff, immediately upon seeing me sitting on the lobby, asked if I
wanted my taxi earlier, got my luggage out, and got me a taxi pronto! I am just
impressed on how friendly the general people are in Vancouver!

We spent a weekend in Vancouver, BC and stayed 3 nights at the Opus hotel. we
felt very uncool amongst the super-chic but immensely enjoyed the time we spent
relaxing in the room. there is a fireplace for ambiance, a dvd player for our
netflix, and a great big bath tub for floating in. i forgot my toothbrush and
the front desk clerk gave me one, thanks. the party scene in the
lobby/bar/restaurant is very busy but we couldn't hear it from our room. overall
a very pleasant stay and we would return to the opus.

Can't say enough! Hotel was beautiful and in a perfect location for all that we
wanted to do and see. The Hotel staff was AWESOME! Everyone (even when we
checked out at 4:00 a.m.) was friendly, helpful and gave us great tips on places
to go and eat. The valet staff gave us "spot on" directions that made our trip
so much easier. Our room was small but that's what I expected given the
location. Made me feel like I was in New York. By accident, we rented a hybrid
car and because of that we were not changed for the hotel's valet parking. This
was something we did not know but was pointed out to us at check out. Saved us
almost $27 a day! GO GREEN!

The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. Always going above and beyond.
The hotel itself was exceptional. I did not like the fact that we had to leave!
From the moment we arrived in the taxi, the concierge was there to greet us with
a smiling face. He immediately helped us with our bags, and took us to our
superbly sublime room. The hotel staff was knowledgeable of the area, had
wonderful recommendations for local recommendations and tourist attractions. Not
only would I recommend this hotel to others, I will stay here again on my next
trip to Vancouver.

Cool, hype hotel located in Yaletown area of Vancouver. Great location and
walking distance to some great restaurants, bars and the the water. This hotel
is definitely for the younger set. On the weekend, their lobby has a hotel bar
which turns into a nightclub complete with a DJ. The lobby is small and you
can't avoid walking through the young hype crowd with their cocktails and trendy
(out to get some) attire. We stayed in a standard room the first two nights and
upgraded to their larger room the second night. Rooms were modern, clean and a
nice size. Only downside if you get rooms facing the street with bars you hear
the evening crowd filing in and out of the bars. Can get a bit noisy. The
complimentary ear plugs set on the nightstand by the hotel is a key indicator
this has been a complaint by previous guests.

Stayed here for business with an extra day tacked-on for pleasure and had a
great experience. Location is great in the trendy Yaletown neighborhood. You can
walk to most attractions including Stanley park in about 30 mins. The hotel is
stylish and comfortable and the staff is extremely friendly and will do whatever
they can to assist you. The one things they could change would be adding free
wireless internet to the hotel but I did use the business center which was a
nice free service with easy printing to print boarding passes or anything else.
The best part of my stay was that the hotel has free bikes available which
allowed me to explore the highlights of Vancouver in the best way possible at a
relaxed pace.

Travelling to and from NYC to Vancouver in 36 hours meant I needed an easy,
accommodating, and relaxing place to stay. Opus fit the bill. Prepaid option
meant a lower room cost, saving the client money. Hotel is small, so the staff
and service is attentive and fast: check-in and check-out took less than a
couple minutes.
Room was large, and bathroom was huge! Accessible and easy to figure out wifi
(not free, however), and room was quiet, facing an interior courtyard.
Hotel is a great location (Yaletown), within a 2-3 minute walk of a variety of
restaurants, many with outdoor terraces.
And, despite the small size of the hotel, it also had a 24/7 fitness room with
running machines (among others).
All in all, I would return to this hotel anytime for business or pleasure.

Our stay at the Opus was great. We loved our room and the BED! Excellent
location for our girls night out - we shopped and dined in Yaletown - which is
where you want to be.
We had breakfast at Elixir (the French bistro in the hotel) and it was perfect.
I will definitely return - perhaps try out the gym next time I go!!

My husband and I recently celebrated our 5th year wedding anniversary at the
Opus hotel and had an amazing evening. We have two young children and decided to
have a night out in the city and stay at the Opus. We had dinner with our
friend's at Elixer and celebrated well into the night at the bar...the staff
were friendly and very accommodating. We highly recommend staying at the Opus,
Vancouver as an in the city get away. We'll be going back again next year to
celebrate ! Thanks to all the staff at Opus !

Just got home from a 1 night stay at the Opus for my 2nd time. This is the first
time I've left a review. I read a couple of reviews about construction in the
neighborhood and i was concerned initially, the first time i stayed there wasn't
any going on, quite a few years ago. I called the hotel to check and was advised
that work was mostly finished. When we arrived there was no sign of construction
however it was late. The next day i could see on the next block that there was
some road work going on but certainly nothing that bothered me in any way. It
appeared that there was just some new street lights being put up. Big deal!
Otherwise we had a great time at the hotel. There was Canada Day festivities
including a parade at the waterfront near Canada Place which was awesome. The
hotel and staff were great. I stayed in a suite that had 2 beds, 1 was a fold
out sofa bed that my daughter slept on. The hotel had a gym, business center,
restaurant and room service. I would, and have recommended to my friends. The
Opus delivered for me twice now. This hotel is different from other hotels i
stayed at. It has it's own personality. The staff are real people that don't
talk to you like they are robots or more importantly, like people who are just
doing a job. They really seem to enjoy what they are doing. Refreshing actually.
Enough said.

This hotel was the exact thing to make an incredible vacation even better. The
staff was incredibly friendly and went out of there way to be as helpful as
possible. From the moment we arrived in the cab, everyone was extremely helpful
and friendly and made every effort to make us feel welcome. The room was very
modern with the most amazing shower and bathroom I have ever been in. I would
book with Opus again every time I go back to Vancouver.

Hands down, the coolest hotel in Vancouver. Ambiance is very hipster, rooms are
colourful, large business center with free hard-wire Internet access, L'Occitaine
bath products, walking distance to GM Place/BC Place, and complimentary car
service with the sexiest drivers in town. Celebs love this place too!

In addition to the modern, pleasing and comfortable facilities we were struck by
the friendly attitude and positive enthusiasm of all the associates we
interacted with. From the cleaning ladies we ran into in the halls to the folks
at the bar or at breakfast, from Cassidy -- who took us to a couple of places --
to Rodney and Patrick at the desk, in everyone we found remarkable enthusiasm,
friendly initiative, authentic desire to be helpful. Patrick in particular,
contributed some excellent advice that made our brief stay in Vancouver a
forerunner of future more leisurely visits! Hard to find this sort of place...
even in Canada......

Went to Opus for a sexy weekend and couldn't have picked a more perfect place to
stay. The suite was very sexy and comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and
lovely with what is probably the best shower I've ever experienced (and I stay
at a lot of hotels) and the atmosphere throughout the hotel is chic. The
cocktails in the hotel bar are fantastic (especially the Asian Pear Martini) and
the restaurant, Elixer, is superb. Great downtown location, you can walk
everywhere and its close to the water. I can't wait to go back there again.
