The price is to high and the hotel is not up to date!
- Lift is to slow - lots of waiting.
- Garage is ugly
- Rooms a dusty, we never see so much dust in a hotel room.
- Bath room to small and to old for a deluxe room.
Actually it was a Delux room. It was just a normal Hotel room. It is
standard in Europe and even in Canada.
- Every B&B is better
How ever the stuff which I met do the best of the bed conditions.

Plaza 500 met my expectations. Location was excellent, as I was visiting
with City of Vancouver department nearby. Nearby Canada Line transit
made access to YVR airport quicker that by taxi. Room was spacious,
although bathroom a bit small by current hotel standards. All the
amenities worked. Good view northward. It's been a while since I
encountered a hotel without free Internet access. Obtaining new ID
number daily was annoying. Colocated restaurant appeared to both open
and close for business during the 5 days I stayed at the Plaza 500.

Had a wonderful couple of meals in the newly opened restaurant. Modern
take on dishes. Could have done without the big screen tv. The fixed
price menu was excellent. Room was in need of refurb but very clean and
comfortable. Small tv in cabinet, rumpled carpet, noisy aircon on
balcony, sound proofing of glazing needs to be improved. Furniture was
comfy though dated. Bathroom needs modern look with at least a soaker
tub. I look forward to seeing it after the renovations as the location
is excellent. Parking at $25/nt is a bit steep as many in the area
include it now. Always had cabs waiting in parking lot.

Decided to try the Plaza 500 since they had a $99 special which offered
a $20 gift card to their in-house restaurant, Figmint. Ironically, when
I made the reservation, nobody told me this restaurant would be closed
for renovations during my stay, so unless I come back to the Hotel
again, the gift card is useless.
Staff were friendly, but this Hotel is really in need of a renovation.
Lobby was decent, but rooms were quite tired and worn looking. Older
furniture, bed was very low to the floor, carpet had rolls and bumps
throughout the room. I stayed here about 4 years ago, and thought the
rooms needed upgrading back then, and to date nothing has changed.
Quite honestly there is better value nearby, such as the Best Western
Uptown. Much newer Hotel, with rates $20 less than the Plaza 500.

The hotel was convenient as far as the location. The rooms are in dier
need of renovation.
You can't beat the price for a large Vancouver hotel room but I will not
be staying again. My primary complaint is the noise -- sirens from
ambulances on their way to nearby VGH, clunky ice machines, and loud
guests in the hallway. This is a hotel that would benefit from
soundproofing. It is looking quite shabby and in need of a reno but is
within the parameter of the current price point. The staff is friendly
and helpful they offer a terrific 1st class breakfast -- including a $10
credit from the hotel Great view of Vancouver Large rooms Convenient
location

We arrived a little past midnight and the person at the front desk was
anything but welcoming. Then he informed us that to park at the hotel
you would need to pay 20 dollars per night. Ouch. He said we could park
out on the street if we wanted to (funny since you have to have a
parking permit.) The parking garage smelled like old cheese. The room
was decent, I had gotten a good deal online so I was not too unhappy. It
just must of been the sharpy all over the bathroom walls and the
cigarette burns on the curtains in the non smoking room. And all of the
ice machines where down. Oh there was also a sign in the elevator that
said no outside food or drink?

My stay at Plaza 500 was really good. Staff members are always there to
help you out if you need anything. Rooms are very clean and food there
is excellent. I would defiantly recommend everyone for Plaza 500.
Shopping mall is pretty close and most of all the beautiful mountain
scenery. "Can’t wait to go back"

Unless you are getting a really good deal - don’t bother. Yes, the
location is great, the restaurant is very nice, staff are extremely
friendly and ready to help and the rooms are rather large. However, "new
renovated" means new bedspreads and the lobby looks fantastic. The rooms
smell of mold and mildew and are not well lit. Vending machines don’t
work and only one of two elevators work at a time so take forever.

It was a nice stay. It suited our needs. And the price was good for the
quality. Clean. Friendly staff.”
“Location OK .Relatively near everything by bus or metro. Rooms adequate
but not big. Price gotten OK hotel not worth more.” Although the hotel
is older, the rooms are clean, roomy and the staff even brought in a
microwave for my use.

I stayed at this hotel on referral from a family member. The location
was convenient, very close to the skytrain station - access to downtown
was perfect without actually having to stay down town. We came in from
the airport and access to the hotel from the Canada line was a snap,
just 2-3 short blocks to walk. We came in late at night and were tired
after traveling, check in was a snap. The hotel room was great, it could
use an update and I understand the hotel is doing this (I would be
interested to stay again and see it after the upgrades this spring). We
had ordered room service the day before to be delivered in the morning
for breakfast - everything came right on time and was fabulous! Our room
had a wonderful view as well. The price was perfect for our budget as
well.

We stayed a this hotel before with no problems this time around was charged
extra $200.00 (smoking charge). I admit that we are both smokers but we adhere
to the no-smoking bylaws of B.C. The hotel with no evidence of anyone smoking
except for the smell charged us. So if you are a smoker or you have been around
someone who has don't stay at this hotel, because they will charge you cause you
smell.
What a scam
