Don't be fooled by the pictures, not all rooms have a view, I stayed in
a room with no windows, they had curtains but the window was taken out
and covered with glass blocks.
It was my husband, sister in law and myself in a room with 2 double
beds, no sofa like they show in the picture and we couldn't fit 4
suitcases in the room, there is no storage place either.
The breakfast is not continental and is in the basement.
The street where is located is close to a lot of places but not in a
neighborhood where you can walk at night. I felt bad when a tour guide
told us as we were getting off the bus not to go to the left, THAT'S
WHERE OUR HOTEL WAS. You can find other hotels in the area for the same
price. The other Ramada is very well located and the city tours busses
stop at the door. At this hotel you have to walk 4 blocks to get to the
city tours.

We flew into Vancouver and needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks
as we had travelled across via train from Toronto. Reviews for this
place seemed decent, and the price of $69 CAD sealed the deal. It was
small as others have said, but plenty big enough for our purposes. The
stone floor in bathroom was nice. The room and bathroom were very clean.
The staff were friendly but we did not have the breakfast so cannot
comment on this. The steam clock and China town were easy to walk to,
and the staff we encountered were all nice.

I stayed at the Ramada Downtown Vancouver for two nights with my
daughter for a weekend of exploring Vancouver and some shopping. We were
upgraded to the executive floor and had quiet although small room. It
was very comfortable, the beds and pillows were great and everything was
clean. The staff was very courteous and immediately looked up the
opening hours of a store I was going to. The location is very convenient
too, right downtown 5 min. from a major mall, Chinatown and the
Waterfront station where a 25 min subway right from the airport takes
you. Breakfast was sufficient too, eggs, pancakes, bagels, muffins,
toast etc.
Overall we had a great stay there and will definitely stay there again.

I've stayed in some of the finest hotels in the world, the Four Seasons
in NY, the Bellagio in LV, the Ritz in London, The Fairmont, The W in
Seattle but the Ramada in Vancouver has the one thing money cannot buy,
the nicest staff and friendliest people you could ever wish to meet. I
liked it so much last year that I stayed for 6 weeks instead of 2 and
this year for 6 weeks instead of 2. From the General manager to every
superb member of the Housekeeping department, they have become like
family. outstanding in every way. Not 1 complaint. I'd live here if I
could.

We really appreciated the way that we were treated when we came to the
hotel. We had reserved a room at the Patricia Hotel, but it was a gross
dump, so we came to the RAMADA!! and they listened to us and took care
of our needs and it was decent value for your money. They cared for our
situation and made our stay a lot more comfortable. It's also located
near Gastown, which was a cool place to walk around in and grab
something to eat.

My husband and I travel to Vancouver every year, and this was our first
time staying here. We found a very attractive air/hotel deal online, and
we read many online reviews about this hotel so we knew what to expect.
We stayed for 12 nights so it would've been helpful if there were a
microwave and fridge in room. Great services by staff, our booking
included daily breakfast which was perfect for us, and location was
great for our needs. Very close to Gastown, Chinatown, GM Place, Robson
Street, Granville, etc. Building itself was old but kept clean, maid did
a great job cleaning our room daily. Bed was comfortable, bathroom kept
clean. Room was a bit of a smaller side for 2 of us with 2 suitcases and
2 snowboard bags. Valet staff & night shift front desk staff could be a
bit friendlier. Parking is expensive but average for downtown hotels.
Valet will take a while to get your car, so we recommend calling them
from room prior to going down. We were fine walking back late at night,
but would not recommend it to female traveling alone to walk back late
at night, but that applies to anywhere in downtown. We were satisfied
with our stay and will be back again.

Having read the reviews, we stayed for 2 separate nights. The staff were
friendly and helpful. Though the standard room is not big, it's nice and
clean. Location is perfect. I especially like the services it provides;
free wifi and breakfast which was way better than my expectation. It's
really value for money.
PS I have been reading the TA reviews as reference for many years. I
feel guilty for not giving any reviews for other users. So I decided to
share my experiences from now on. This is my first review! Hope this
helps.

My partner & I were a bit wary when we first booked the budget Ramada
Limited Downtown as it was much cheaper than comparable options in town.
Luckily, we were able to cast aside our misconceptions right away when
we checked in to our clean, spacious and well-appointed room, which had
a street view. The room was furnished with a tv (in its large stand), a
small desk, an armchair + ottoman and a double bed with plenty of
pillows. Importantly, the bathroom was spotless and full of the
requisite towels and toiletries.
The free WiFi connection is a big bonus. There was no problem with the
connection in our room, which was several floors up.
The included continental breakfast is also quite nice. The selection is
not elaborate but it is superior to many other included breakfasts at
other budget hotels. Options included instant oatmeal, various dried
cereals with milk, freshly brewed coffee, bananas, apples, bagels,
muffins and toast.
This hotel was within walking distance to many popular attractions like
Chinatown and Robson St. There are buses that run right outside of the
hotel and a Skytrain stop just a few blocks away too.
When I return to Vancouver again, I will likely stay at the Ramada
Limited Downtown as it provides excellent value and convenience in a
fairly expensive city. |
