I was expecting (& reconfirmed) that this was a "suite" but it was not.
Had a king bed and small pull-out sofa bed crammed into one small room.
I could have paid equal price for a far superior hotel & room down the
street.
Also, asked for bus directions to ferry and turned out they completely
gave me wrong info.

The Sandman is not a 5 star hotel, but it provided me with everything i
needed. It was clean, the TV was big, and there was a full bath and
shower. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint would be the
massive hard pillows that gave me a neck ache! Great value

Nothing special. Good location, walking distance from city centre
skyline stop. Would stay again for a deal. It was ok

The Sandman was clean, stylish and in a great location - convenient to
the Skytrain, restaurants, all that downtown offers. What I expected

Overall location of the hotel is great, its right downtown and close to
everything...easy to get to off the highway. Cleanliness of the room was
terrible..I would not return to stay again. Its True What They Say "You
Get What You Pay For"

Just a short walk to SkyTrain, BC Place and other attractions. Standard
room is compact but functional. You may need to stand in the bathtub to
close the bathroom door. Bed was very comfortable, room was clean and
tidy. As mentioned by others, the elevator is slow so you might want to
make use of the stairs if you are on a lower floor. Good location and
reasonable price

Very good location and very convenience to catch the sky train just 2
blocks from the hotel. The library and the Center theater are some
places you would like to relax or entertain at night. The hotel room was
very clean. Good stay! Would like to stay again in this hotel in my next
visit!

We chose this hotel because it had suites which is what we needed with
our 1 and 5 year old kids. The rooms were cramped, outdated, etc.
Location was in a sketchy area with loud partying outside. All in all
the stay was just okay. If your young single and want to party, then I
might consider this place. Not luxurious or relaxing at all. Would never
stay here again.

This is the 5th time I've stayed at the Sandman. The rooms have been
renovated since my last stay and they look great. There was a minor
issue with my booking, but that was taken care of immediately. I had
asked for a very late checkout and there were no issues with this. The
location is great. The food is great and it's pretty much in the center
of restaurants, shopping, etc. GM Place and BC Stadium are less than 5
mins walk. The only downside was that I was near the ice machine which
did interrupt my sleep at times. Other than that, a fantastic stay as
usual.

North Shore Mountains We recently stayed at the Sandman Downtown, and it
was fabulous. The employees were very nice and had all the answers to
our questions, the service was fast and effective. Our room was
spotless, and had fantastic views of False Creek and the North Shore
mountains. The hotel is in a prime location, footsteps from BC and GM
Place, and a short 5 min walk to the Vancouver nightlife and Yaletown.
Sandman would be my first choice the next time I stay downtown

I stayed in the Sandman on Georgia for one night in January. Upon
arrival the check in clerk was very friendly and talkative. I requested
to be away from any elevators and ice machines since I was travelling
with a light sleeper, the room they had me in was located close to the
elevator but after making the comment they immediately moved me as far
away as possible. They ended up placing us on the top floor, as far down
the hallway as possible overlooking the city, so it was a beautiful
room. The decoration was very modern and the renovations done were quite
beautiful. We went into Moxie's located right on site, it was
practically dead in there so the service was fantastic and the food came
amazingly quickly. The decorations in the restaurant were also very
nice, we loved the vases they had all around. At check out the process
was very quick and efficient and once again the lady that checked us out
was very friendly and seemed happy to be there.
Overall we had a great experience and would most certainly recommend the
hotel to others.

I must admit, after reading the reviews of this hotel, we were a bit
skeptical on booking reservations. But, the rates were well priced and
the location looked good so we took our chances and reserved 5 rooms for
a 3 night stay. Are we glad we did!!! Service was great, the fitness
room was the best I have been to at any hotel and we couldn't have asked
for a better location. Our rooms were clean and very comfortable and we
fully enjoyed the Moxies restaurant. The only complain our group had was
one of the elevators was quite slow. I would definitely recommend this
hotel to anyone visiting Vancouver; we will definitely stay here again!!

This is the second time that we have stayed in the Sandman Hotel. The
location within a 5 minute walk takes you to GM Place and BC place. The
Granville strip is only ten minutes away. We were in a spacious room
with two queen beds room that exceeded our expiations. Obviously newly
renovated the hallways and lobbies have a warm feeling to them (other
than the slow elevator). The rooms were clean and the staff welcoming
and courteous. The hotel also includes Moxie’s Grill and the Shark club
(a great place for after any game). We would highly recommend this hotel
to any one looking for an affordable room in the Downtown area. |
