This is a great hotel. Why stay in a boring chain hotel when this is the
same price or cheaper? Beautiful, comfortable rooms. Excellent location
(walking distance to the convention centre, and just about everywhere
else). We just loved it. The restaurant is OK too, but there are so many
other choices within walking distance, including cheap cafe for
breakfast and loads of sushi places.

Excellent ratio of satisfaction to money spent
Staying at Hotel Le Soleil was a good experience. It is a
well-maintenance hotel. Amenities are of good quality. It is close to
many downtown attractions.

Definitely coming back.
Wonderful Hotel. Ganz gemutlich. Stayed with my brother on the occasion
of the Vancouver Marathon. Great location with easy access to myriad
venues, including great restaurants, movie theatres, shopping (to bring
something home for the wife & kids) and of course, the half marathon
starting line. Staff at the front desk were friendly and efficient,
willing to give directions, weather reports, store luggage (after
check-out) and generally conduct themselves very professionally. The
room was spacious, very clean and the pull-out couch (Bro lost the coin
toss) in the sitting room worked really well as a 2nd bedroom. Looking
forward to coming back.

Two Thumbs Up.
Very nice accommodations. Furniture very attractive French style.
Scrumptious fabrics used throughout. Pretty quiet for being in this mid
town location. Staff very nice and one bellman went way out of his way
to help us. Restaurant not too attractive. Food good but mostly very
east Indian and not suitable for this hotel

Will definitely choose to stay for next trips
Very nice and comfortable hotel at the best location downtown Vancouver,
close to everything and convenient to connect to Skytrain, too. Will
stay again and again in the future.

Charming and Cute
A charming French style boutique hotel - close to downtown Vancouver
shopping and waterfront. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were only
there one night but enjoyed the stay. The only surprise was a charge for
internet service that had been advertised on the hotel website as free.

A posh spot in Vancouver
The standard room we chose was lovely...really more like a junior suite.
It was so nice to have a separate sitting/TV room from the bedroom. The
decor was tasteful and it felt like a retreat. We never heard noise from
other guests or the bustling street...very quiet.

I have stayed at Hotel Le Soleil 6 times now and every time is the same,
fantastic. Nestled in the heart of downtown it is literally steps from
everything. The rooms are clean, sizable and very comfortable and the staff is
second to none. I highly recommend it!

After receiving a very good rate for 3 nights at this hotel, and based on the
positive reviews, I decided to stay here based on the location.
The location is very central - right in the heart of the commercial area of
downtown Vancouver. It is a business area and there aren't many places nearby
for a snack or a cheap meal on the weekend... you'll have to walk a few blocks
for anything during non-business hours, but things are still that far. It is 2
blocks to the SkyTrain. It can be a bit noisy late at night from a few nearby
bars...but this may be unavoidable in downtown Vancouver.
This hotel advertises itself as a 4 star hotel...it comes close, but it's better
described as a theme hotel. The hotel has a Louis XIV (French Sun King) motif
that is a bit over the top - with golden sun logos everywhere and a phony
ornaments on a level that can make one feel out of place at first.
If the rooms were in the layout of a conventional hotel room, they would be
quite large, spacious and comfortable. They're not though... the
bathroom/closet/bar area is in the centre of your living space - dividing it in
two, leaving you with a small living room area and a separate very small bedroom
area. If you like a large hotel room, this would not be a good choice. The
bedroom area is barely large enough for two single beds or one queen sized bed.
This works well if you're there by yourself or a close couple, but not so well
otherwise.
Both tiny rooms feature 42 inch flat screen TVs...which sounds great, but both
rooms are also too small for such large displays - especially when they don't
have HDTV, making the picture quality look pretty horrible. The bathroom was
elegantly decorated, though it only had a shower - no bath tub. I find it odd
that a 4 star hotel would only have a shower. The bar area had a kettle in
addition to a coffee maker...as well as hot chocolate, which non-coffee drinkers
will appreciate! You can also use the mini-bar fridge to keep your own drinks
cold.
For all of the quirks, everything was in good condition and very clean. Free
wireless internet is a huge plus as well - though I didn't try it. The service
from the front desk and the maids was good - we were up to our room very quickly
on check in, and all of the other workers always greet you with a smile and a
hello...makes you feel welcome.
Overall, I would stay here again for a good rate, especially if I was by myself
or with my partner. I would not recommend this hotel to families with kids, or
for anyone bothered by small rooms.

This is a very classy hotel that is rather tucked away in the central financial
district of town. The Le Soleil is relatively new but it was built with an early
20th century artistry. The lobby is warm and plush and our room was equally
attractive and comfortable. The staff was very courteous and friendly. The
location of the hotel was perfect for us as we like to walk and the concierge
was very helpful by giving us advice as to the best walking routes around the
city.
We look forward to a return visit to this hotel.

The hotel is not too costly, small, quiet and they have great service. There is
a separate closed space in the rooms so if you want to watch TV at night, you
will not disturb your spouse since it closes off with pocket doors. It's
elegantly designed in gold tones and nicely set up. There is wireless access
that even goes down to the Copper Chimney (wonderful food) restaurant below. The
service is top notch and they are very helpful with reservations, travel
arrangements etc. It's very close to everything you require and not far to walk
for businesses meetings. |
