Review of the Sunset Inn and Suites Vancouver

We stayed here for 2 days, in late June, based on Trip Advisor recommendations - it was excellent - we'd highly recommend it, so thanks to previous reviewers! We chose an Executive Studio apt - worth it, because they're higher up. We also got a great discount booking and paying in advance. Furnishings, set up etc lovely and very comfy. A range of different staff (especially Elvis) were incredibly helpful and friendly - our advice - take all their recommendations re local dining etc - we had some great meals - good coffee place, good diner for breakfast, and great restaurant (Banana Leaf) for dinner. Easy 15 min walk to downtown, and lots of local shops to buy a few staples for the apt. Try to get a high up room, or one facing Burnaby St - otherwise, although your apt will be lovely, you could find yourself looking into a pretty seedy back alley! Overall? Great, and highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for high, and/or facing Burnaby St, not the Davies St back lane.

Great location! The hotel is very nicely remodeled the staff are very attentive, friendly, helpful. Lots of amenities included in the price including free breakfast, and free WiFi. Lots of restaurants within a short walking distance and convenient to downtown Vancouver.
Our one bedroom suite (king size bed in private bedroom and a separate fold-out sofa bed in the living room) was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable for our 5-day stay with our children. Our suite with well equipped kitchenette was a lovely room with dining table that is great.
The bathroom was small, but the lay out worked well. Like others travelers if you stay longer that the only one is the House keeping did not come until late afternoon after we had returned from our days activities. We were there 5 days and this was everyday.

This was my fourth annual trip to Vancouver, and i can't think of a nicer place to stay than the Sunset Inn and Suites. I usually take a one bedroom suite for about week. These come with a living room, balcony with a great view, dining table and fold-out sofa, desk, chairs and fully working kitchen. No matter how long I stay, it feels like a home away from home and I always want to stay longer. The hotel is immaculately kept and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Amenities include two televisions, a DVD player, an iPod player & radio, and a very comfortable bed. The West End neighborhood is both bohemian and fun. There are the practical shops close by like a Safeway grocery store, flower shops, fruit and vegetable stands, several banks, a drugstore with a post office in it, as well as a Starbucks on the corner. There are any number terrific restaurants and little unique shops to visit. There is handy public bus service to the downtown sights, and it is relatively close to the light rail. The Sunset Inn and Suites has parking included if you bring a car, which is very much appreciated. Some of my local Vancouver friends recently asked me, "Where did you find this terrific hotel?, and I had to say it was one of their competitors who suggested it. Hope you enjoy Vancouver and try the Sunset Inn and Suites.

Excellent location convenient to Granville Island, Grouse Mountain, Stanley Park, downtown Vancouver, lots of restaurants within a short walking distance.

Our one bedroom suite (king size bed in private bedroom and a separate fold-out sofa bed in the living room) was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable for our 4-day stay with our two adult children.( The space in the bedroom is a bit tight for luggage.). Very adequate breakfast (cereal, toast, croissants, coffee) is available between 7-10 a.m for self-serve to take back to your room. The front desk staff, especially Dave and Elvis, were very helpful and friendly - do ask them for suggestions for restaurants, sightseeing, etc. This was one of the few places in such a great location in Vancouver that included free parking, free wireless and the breakfast in the room rate. Great value, great location, great staff! We'd definitely stay here again!.

Room Tip: Book early if possible
