Great hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Good size rooms right in the heart of
downtown Vancouver. Quality in-room amenities fully refreshed and stocked each
day. Staff make an effort to recall previous visit preferences and to
proactively ensure current visit goes well.

I love the Westin Grand. The hotel is nicely located downtown Vancouver between
Granville Island and Stanley Park. The employees make this the best place to
stay. The staff make my girls feel like they belong there. Everyone seemed in
good spirits and they were always looking out for the customers best interest.

I stayed at this hotel twice, first for 2 days, then for 3 more days later in
the month.
On the first visit we were given a complimentary upgrade to a King Suite which
was a nice surprise. The room was spacious, split into a separate bedroom and a
living room / kitchenette. It's a great bonus to have these kitchenettes in all
the rooms... with the IGA Marketplace supermarket next door it was handy to be
able to get breakfast supplies for the mornings. The beds were super comfy, the
room had everything we needed, it was spotlessly clean, and overall it was very
good value for money.
On the second stay, there was no free upgrade but we were offered a paid upgrade
to a King Superior suite at an extra cost of $30CAD per night. We accepted this
and was glad we did... if you are offered the upgrade at that price, snap their
hands off because it's a steal.
The King superior suite was like a condo / flat, with a balcony, a small living
room, hallway, kitchenette, large bedroom, and large bathroom. I could honestly
have lived in there. The only small hiccup was a blocked toilet on the first
night, but maintenance were there within minutes and fixed the problem promptly.
The Westin Grand is superbly located at the Eastern end of Robson Street, close
to BC place, and only a 6 minute bus or cab ride, or a 10-15 minute walk to all
of the restaurants clustered further West around Robson / Thurlow.
This is about as good as hotels get in this price range, and I highly recommend
it.

This hotel is in Downtown Vancouver and close to everything we wanted to see.
It's a beautiful hotel with many amenities including a separate bedroom and
living room and a large bathroom. Two TV's and totally comfortable for two
people.
The concierge was excellent in her knowledge of the area and steering us towards
fabulous restaurants.
Vancouver is fantastic and I'd love to go back. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here
again or recommend it to others.

The hotel was great. We had a corner suite, which was spacious and perfect for
our family of 5. The service was excellent and the location very convenient to
public transport. The hotel is located on the eastern side of downtown, so it's
not in the upscale "west end" part, but there were tons of reasonably priced
restaurants, pubs, and even a grocery store all within just a couple of blocks
of the hotel, which was great. The suites all have a mini-kitchen (no stove, but
there was an oven, microwave, toaster, & dishwasher) which made breakfast and
late night snacks easy.

The bed was amazingly comfortable. Very positive experience. The room was very
large with a separate bedroom and a living room with a wet bar, mini fridge,
microwave and dishwasher.

The hotel is situated a great location, just blocks from Yaletown, Robson
Street, waterfront (including the Olympic improvements), and Davie Street. It's
not too far from the freeways and we parked in the hotel and drove to Commercial
Drive and Richmond. Fabulous 5 star hotel, great concierge, lovely rooms and
very good price

The Westin Grand is located right in the heart of Vancouver on trendy Robson
Street. The lobby is small but functional and on the same floor sits the
restaurant which is rather small, but manages to serve tasty meals.
My room was on the 21st floor but still not high enough to afford a view of
anything but other high rises. I think you would have to be on the top few
floors to get a view of the water. The room was well appointed with separate
living and sleeping accommodation, both rooms had tv's. The kitchen is tiny,
just a fold out really but I think that it serves its purpose and is more than
adequate.
The bathroom which is large in comparison to the rest of the unit. Overall the
rooms are adequate, nothing special.
The pool is on the smallish size but the gym is excellent with an array of
modern equipment. There is an IGA supermarket just a few door up the troad from
the hotel which is a welcome relief from pricey restaurants.
My biggest complaint is that a hotel that charges such an expensive rate has the
audacity to charge $21 a day for parking and then again for internet access,
something that I have had provided free of charge in the tiniest motel in the
tiniest of towns in the USA and Canada. For this fact alone I wouldn't recommend
this hotel.

Excellent for business or pleasure, I was in Vancouver in mid August and found
the room quite luxurious with a small kitchen, huge bath and the best bed you
can imagine. I was also amazed with the attention in the reception and by the
staff, when I asked for headache pills and late room service, I was treated with
great deal of attention.
The location of this hotel is quite good, just by Robson street for the best
shopping or a great dinner out in Vancouver.

The hotel is clean and well-maintained. The staff was generally friendly and
helpful. The room, which was a suite, was on the average size for a suite, but
the doors separating the bedroom from the living area were smoked glass.
Location is on the far side of the shopping district, closer to the arenas. This
made for an easy walk to excellent ethnic diners, and a small grocery store is
located next door if you want to use your mini-bar to the fullest,
least-expensive extent. Easy drive to the beautiful Vancouver parks. Very nice
pool! Only issue - incredibly slow elevators; only two for a high rise! By the
way, we found Vancouver a very friendly city.

My bf and I book all our hotels through
www.allure-hotels.com so we were quite pleased when we managed to book
three nights at the Westin Grand in Vancouver for 90 dollars a night (USD).
From what I gathered this was considered an 'economy class' type of Westin, but
even without the perks of typical Westin properties...this hotel was fantastic
for my bf and I (we're both 20-somethings, we are pretty low-maintenance).
The hotel has the lobby on the second floor, so when you enter you don't see it
right away. From what I understand this is meant to give you the illusion that
you are walking into an apartment building and not a hotel. It is supposed to
make the place feel more like yours than theirs. Interesting idea, didn't bother
me. Some reviewers I've read though really did not like this feature.
The rooms are great. We had the most basic suite with a small sitting area, a
separated bedroom (both rooms had large floor to ceiling windows and
televisions), and a well spaced bathroom. There is also a closet kitchenette
that is kept behind two large doors. If you never need to use it, you don't
notice it even there.
The fitness lounge in the Westin is fantastic. Plenty of equipment and free
weights. Was never so busy that you had to wait to use a machine. Had nice
features such as ice cold lemon water (it's so refreshing after a good sweat).
There was a decent sauna we took advantage of once and I believe there are steam
rooms as well.
One of my absolute favorite things about this hotel was the outdoor pool. It's
on the third level (the workout lounge overlooks the pool) so you have a great
rooftop view of the city. My bf and I went everyday and it was always empty. I
guess being so close to the beach, people would prefer to catch their rays
laying on the sand...but if you want to avoid the noise and crowds of English
bay - DEFINITELY take full advantage of the Westin pool. There's also a hot tub
which was great on colder nights.
All the great amenities Westin is famous for were all included...for example
'the heavenly bed' and our favorite 'the heavenly bath' which has two shower
heads (one is turned off to save water, but you can turn it on if you want the
full luxurious experience).
The staff at the hotel were very kind and helpful. Everyone seemed in good
spirits and they were always looking out for the customers best interest.
My bf and I loved the fact that there was a grocery store, a mini mart, and a
liquor store conveniently located at the base of the hotel. Made getting last
minute items very easy. Not to mention that being on Robson was fantastic. Don't
listen to anyone who tells you that it's an 'unsafe area' to be in. It's really
great, you are always just a short walk from everything you'd want to see and
anywhere you'd want to be.
I can't say enough good things about this hotel, definitely would have gladly
paid more for it, but it's twice as nice that we got it at such a discount. I
promise anyone who is swayed into staying at this hotel through reviews such as
mine, you won't regret it.

Stayed here during our trip to Vancouver for my mom's birthday. It's located
very close to Robson street if you're a compulsive shopper. The lobby was kind
of small and you had to take an elevator up 3 stories to get to it. But walking
around downtown Vancouver, land is very scarce, so I'll let that one slide. The
hotel is very close to Stanley Park.
If you are taking a ferry to Victoria, stay elsewhere, because the drive from
the hotel to the ferry is 45 mins. We found out the hard way and had to take a
helicopter there (helipad was located in downtown).
Room space was okay. The bedroom was actually separate from the living room,
which made the rooms feel smaller than they actually were. But the plus is you
get a TV in the bedroom and the living room. The bathroom had sufficient space
and was elegant. You could actually open the bathroom door without hitting
someone sitting on the toilet...haha.
Paid $200/night for the rooms here. Considering the location, downtown Vancouver
density, and the quality of the room, it was very good value. Booked it through
www.Allure-Hotels.com

We received a suite on the 10th floor. No view to speak of, and the rooms were
filled with furniture. While overly complex, the amenities of the Westin were
available. To be honest, we stayed because I have enough points for a free room.
Usually a more adventurous traveler, I would not stay here again on vacation.
But I don't say this to diminish the Westin brand - it's quality. The hotel is
nicely located between Granville Island and Stanley Park. And there is no free
wireless!

I stayed at the Westin Grand Vancouver over the US's Memorial Day Weekend. The
hotel itself is located nearly in the middle of everything you should see in
downtown Vancouver -- just north of Yaletown, just south of Gastown, just west
of Chinatown, and a mile east of Stanley Park and English Bay Beach.
The rooms are big suite set ups. Getting one of the 03 suites on the corner is
recommended -- it is roomier, and the hotel upgraded me to one of these based on
my status with Starwood.
My room wasn't ready when I got to the hotel to check in, so the desk clerk
"bought" me a drink at the bar while I waited for it to be ready. The service at
the bar and restaurant was excellent and the staff were quite friendly --
offering excellent suggestions for restaurants each night of my stay.
Even the room rate was reasonable -- only about $200 US each night.
There is nothing bad I can say about this hotel.

Trouble free visit. Got a suite among the top floors, awesome view. Service was
incredible. However, like all big city hotels, they DING you with all the extra
fees... internet access in room was $14 for 24 hours. And the parking fees...
yikes. Vancouver is a wonderful city, make sure you visit the Capilano
suspension bridge. Take a walk around Lord Stanley Park

I can't say enough about the great service we experienced at check in, from the
bellman and the front desk. My bags arrived at my room before I did and the
bellman made sure I was familiar with and comfortable with the room. The front
desk gave us a great booklet with discounts to many sightseeing destinations.
From the all suite rooms (with two televisions!), to the dual showerhead, to the
soaker tub and kitchenette, the room was very comfortable and exceeded my
expectations.
I was worried the Westin Grand might be a little off the beaten path, but it
turned out to be the perfect location for everything we wanted to do:
sightseeing, walking, shopping and dining out. It's on the "quiet" end of Robson
St., away from the frenetic pace found in the shopping district. With Yaletown
just a few blocks away, dining options were plentiful. We also had an easy
stroll to the Aquabus ferry on False Creek for a ride over to Granville Island.
I can't say enough about the Westin website and the specials that are offered. I
found a half-price sale that allowed me to stay at a hotel way above my usual
standard, making for a special trip.

The name Westin grand is true to its construction style, the entire hotel looks
like a grand piano. located on Robson street about 30 mins from the airport and
roughly the same from the pier (for those taking a cruise). one cant find a more
central location than this. to the left of the hotel is all the eating,
drinking, coffee places u want with a wide variety for veg as well as the non
veg plate and to the right is the shopping area. u can walk all the way to
Granville island a must see and gastown, both tourist destinations. the hotel
has huge spacious rooms, the service is impeccable and the staff is very very
helpful. if ur in Vancouver and not at the Westin Grand you have def missed
something.
