Hotel Review of the Best Western Capilano Inn & Suites
June 5, 2011
The suite on the ground floor was ideal for my mother using a walker - spacious
and easy to manoeuvre around the room. It felt very safe for her to be in the
room.
The room was very comfortable, clean and relaxing. Bathroom was safe and clean.
The kitchenette was very adequate and the sitting room was spacious too.
The staff at the hotel were all friendly and helpful.
The hotel was very accommodating with extending our stay.
Overall we had a great stay and would have no hesitation in returning to the
hotel.

Service was good, Straight forward, The room was compact with an Excellent queen
size bed and 4 pillows, Clean and neat. I found the location very good for my
needs, Close to Horseshoe Bay and a half hour away from the Airport
Close to Downtown and Stanley Park, Very reasonable prices
All in all a very good experience staying there

Very convenient location.
Parking was tight and outdoor pool was a standard small size.
It was good and very convenient for visiting Capilano park (suspension bridge)
and Stanley Park. It is also very close to downtown Vancouver.

Very clean bathroom and interior; great to have coffeemaker, and PC modem
plug-in. Exterior is slightly worn.
The hotel was a great price, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the
room was nice and clean. The exterior of the hotel was kind of run-down, which
might scare off potential customers. However, it's a good choice if you're
looking for an economy hotel that's close to Stanley Park and other attractions
in the area

I feel bad having to write this because the staff at this hotel were the best I
have run into. Unfortunately the hotel itself was not. I also got some kind of a
bite on my neck staying there and ran into the smell upon entering the room and
useless wifi. The worst though is that we took a room on the front side of the
hotel. It was like sleeping in the street as far as the noise goes. Capilano Rd
is a huge major road and your room is right on top of it. The traffic noise is
beyond belief and it isn't just rush hour. All night long you will get
motorcycles and loud cars waking you up. I slept in segments of 20mins in
between. We also kept finding ourselves locked out of our room for 5 mins at a
time because the lock wouldn't work.
One of the other positive notes is that while it does not have a fitness centre
they give you a pass to use at the local gym which is only steps away. It is
massive and quite nice and way better than the little hotel work out rooms.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days to check out Vancouver before going
to Hawaii on our honeymoon. We wanted to stay at a Best Western because we're
club members and wanted to get the stay twice get a night free deal. Regrettably
we wasted money staying here, because we cancelled our reservation for our
return because of the cheap motel quality. So we won't be getting any deal
unfortunately. I was also apprehensive about booking at another Best Western in
town since we wasted money coming here.
I'd say that the price of $149 a night for the "kitchenette" and 1 queen bed was
an outrageous rip off. There was a tiny sink, a built in mini fridge and a hot
plate. Not much of a kitchen, no counter space and nothing to cut food with
either. It just felt overly cheap, with the hard bed, flat pillows, scratchy
carpet and chilly rooms. It reminded me of being a child and staying in old
motels with my family. Not something romantic for our honeymoon and definitely a
FAR cry from a "suite". Next time if I were in the area I would stay at any of
the nearby inns instead, surely they can't charge prices like Best Western and
fail to deliver.
Oh and forget about trying to use the internet. The wireless is so weak that we
could barely connect a few times a day, so needless to say we were behind on
business during our stay. (we have an internet based business)

The room was clean and well-maintained. We had no problem with street noise or
neighbour noise. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed for 4 nights in
a row and were totally satisfied. We plan to stay here again!

Our room at the Best Western Capilano Inn & Suites was a suite and had a small
kitchenettes. I liked the location it was close to the Mall and had restaurants
nearby. The room was clean and the service at the front desk was kind. I choose
this hotel because of the Best Western name, it takes out some of the unwanted
surprises you can get at some of the small independent type Motels. I would stay
here again it is close to many attractions next time if I a here on a leisure
visit.
