Guest Reviews of the North Vancouver Hotel

Both my husband and I had pleasant experiences staying at the hotel on a few
occasions. Each time, we found our room to be clean and comfortable. As well, we
were happy with the array of choices available at breakfast, which we could also
bring back to our room. Overall, there were nice amenities provided to the
guests along with a welcoming atmosphere of hospitality.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to other people, if they are seeking
comfort, friendliness and value!

We just got back from our trip to Vancouver. We stayed at this hotel for 3
nights traveling with a teenager and a young child. On the third day, I was at
the front desk with our youngest extending our stay while my husband was waiting
for our son to put on his jacket. He was standing at the doorway of the hotel
room with the door completely open. Our room was in front of the office, so
basically everyone saw us. Suddenly, the sprinkler in the room went off. I asked
the staff for help. My laptop and ipod were on the desk, so my son had to run in
several times to get them. We started drying them off with towels. At this point
my son was soaking wet, trembling from the cold . We covered him with towels and
put him in the car . At this point the staff were still running around trying to
find the number for the sprinkler company since they didn't know how to turn the
water off. At one point they said we would have to wait for a fire truck to come
to turn off the water. It took between 30-45 minutes for them to finally turn it
off. By this time all our belongings were wet and dirty and the water had gone
to other rooms as well. I told one of the staff that my son was wet and cold and
didn't have any dry clothes to wear. He asked for his size, but didn't return
with any clothes . They offered us another room and we sent our son to get a hot
shower while we tried to dry his clothes. The management had our clothes washed
and made a very big deal about it. They changed our rate to their corporate rate
which made it $15 cheaper per night. I dried my laptop and turned it on the next
morning only to find it was completely dead. I showed my laptop to the general
manager and he said I would have to contact their insurance guy and that he
would not compensate us. I told them that they were not treating us well and I
would write a review. Suddenly they changed their strategy and decided to
transfer the fault to us. They sent one of their staff to our room to explain
that we might have done this ourselves. This same person was the first person
that checked the sprinkler after this had happened and had said that nothing had
been touched. After not being able to convince me that it was our fault, he said
I was unreasonable and left. Few minutes later a police officer came to our room
and wanted to speak with us to write a report .Couple of hours later, I went to
the front desk to ask if we could leave that day or if we would have to stay the
night since it was passed check out time and I was told that we had to leave
because they had rented out our room. I know for a fact that most of their rooms
were empty. Their behaviour was very unprofessional and rude and I would not
recommend this hotel to anyone!

We stayed here with 3 children under 5 years old during the beginning of
December. We found the heating unit in the living room / kitchen to be missing
parts and malfunctioning. NOTHING was done to resolve the issue. The management
was impossible to reach until afterwards. We received apologies for the "minor
inconvenience". FYI - Not minor in winter with 3 young children!
