Very modest hotel -- think cinderblocks. Although they confirmed via phone that parking was available for an SUV towing an enclosed trailer, there was not. Rather, I was directed to park off property under the neighborhood watch sign. When I moved down the road to a hotel that had onsite parking, North Vancouver Hotel refused to allow me to cancel my reservation. They cited their 24 hour cancellation policy. Be aware. There are much nicer properties nearby.

This is a motel with a decent location beside a major road in North Vancouver, BC. It is what it is - an older property, fairly decent. Windows don't open, but it's a quiet enough place frequented by tourists mostly. The breakfast room is overcrowded - it's too small!

We checked in to find a $100 hold had been placed on our Credit Card. No mention of this when I did the booking on line. I actually had called to book with them directly when they quoted me rates. I told then I had seen lower rates on their website. He told me to use the website and hung up. After we checked in I called told to see on how to connect to the internet (nothing mentioned in the welcome book) was told that a cord had been provided and was by the desk..click. Not anything else, could I help you with anything else, even a goodbye. Heated pool was frigid. Sun was out but no one in the pool. Noise...construction and street. Bathroom fan sounded like a helicopter in need of a tune up and came on every time you turned on the bathroom light. Thin walls and floors sounded like elephants above us.
I had to leave the bathroom after my shower ( that is if you had enough hot water to take a shower) walked on the carpet. Returned to bathroom put my feet up to dry found muddy foot prints? I had just previously showered...
Best part: The Last night went to plug in my cell phone to recharge. It was then that I noticed the cord for the refrig. The plug in the electrical outlet was WHITE. Cord coming out of frig was BLACK , connecting them together was haphazardly wrapped piece of ELECTRICAL TAPE!!!! I immediately unplugged it. This is the worse safety hazard, if anybody was to touch this and an exposed wire.. not to mention the fire hazard. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Stayed two separate nights before & after Vancouver Island. GREAT location for Horseshoe Bay ferry! Rooms both times were clean and spacious. Kids enjoyed the "jellybean" outdoor pool enough though it was freezing. Traffic noise off Capilano Road is loud - our 2nd stay we requested a room across from the reception building (ie. room 212) and it was much quieter. Breakfast was hot and good - dining area is quite cramped and tables dirty but we made due. There is a Vietnamese pho place nearby (next to Grouse Inn) and its FANTASTIC! Go there rather than the donair diner across the way - they charged whatever they wanted (prices not posted) and it was outrageous and not even that tasty. Overall we enjoyed our brief stays at this hotel and would highly recommend to others!

I chose this hotel because of the recommendations on tripadvisor.com, but it is not as good as advertised.
I stayed at this hotel four nights - I prepaid before my arrival. My initial impression was that the building was old and the accommodations cheap. Sheets, towels, drapes were worn out and had holes. There were too few towels and only one thin blanket on the bed. I had to go to the front desk to request more towels/blankets every time the room was cleaned. Hot water was not always available. The mattresses were not comfortable. The room had a slight mildew smell. The trash truck picked up the trash about 7 am. There was road construction and a lot of noise. It seemed that a limousine service was also run out of the same building.
As far as location is concerned, typical people would not be able to walk over Lion Gate Bridge to Stanley Park without great distress. It is too far away and a steep climb. Lion Gate Bridge adds a considerable amount of time waiting in traffic at almost all times of the day until late in the evening, so consider this when staying on the north side of the bridge. This is bumper to bumper traffic that adds at least thirty minutes to your travel. I felt that I paid three times what it was worth and would be comparable to a room less than $50/night in Oklahoma.

Nothing exceptional on booking in or room except bathroom rather small. However toilet had not been flushed when we arrived. However as we were in room at the rear it was noisy as there was a road directly adjacent to the hotel which was quite busy esp. early morning. This together with a window in the back of the room -facing the road- which was not curtained (all rooms appeared to have them) & let in a lot of light didn't allow good sleeping. Breakfast was quite adequate with a good variety. Laundry was expensive in comparison to others we used on our travels.
