We had a good experience at this motel. It is conveniently located just outside
of Vancouver...out of the hustle and bustle but within a very easy drive from
downtown and near lots of restaurants, shops, etc. Room was tidy and clean.
Continental breakfast was typical. Free WiFi was great.

We needed a place to stay over and this location was ideal. The hotel was really
sketchy. Our room had an odor to it that I couldn't quite place but it wasn't
that clean smell. The towels were extremely starchy and none of the windows
opened. Also we could hear the room beside ours. The breakfast was really weak.
There were bagels or cereal (rice crispies/ bran flakes) and the bagel topping
was all in a tin and you had to scoop it out, except for the peanut butter which
was in individual containers (guess what I had on my bagel in the morning!)
Knowing now that there is a Best western and a Holiday Inn just up the street I
would opt to stay there the next time I need a convenient location. Also check
in was very slow despite having two people working at the desk (they were both
checking in the couple before us which took forever.) The water pressure in the
shower totally sucked and since none of the windows opened there was gross
condensation stains on the ceiling of the bathroom. On the plus side the hotel
had a mini fridge and a microwave which was nice

We stayed here two weekends in a row, for two nights then one night
respectively. We chose the North Vancouver Hotel for convenience, as we had
events to attend very nearby. Personally, I didn't find the road noise bad at
all, even though it's on a main street. Rooms were comfortable with good beds.
The hotel staff were great - excellent service and very helpful. Park Royal mall
is within easy walking distance with good shopping.
Good, comfortable accommodation for this class of hotel with great service.

Like a lot of hotels this is situated on a busy street so if you are sensitive
to traffic noise bring some earplugs. This was just a one nighter for us but it
is close enough to attractions/downtown Vancouver and the Horseshoe Bay ferry.
Check-in was quick and had very pleasant staff who offered to print out
directions to a friends house. The room (2 queens) was basic and clean which is
really all that we required. Breakfast was basic with waffles, cereals, toast
etc. My only issue was the toaster - 4 slicer and very slow and the toast not
that done when it finally popped. Perhaps a second toaster would speed up
traffic in the small eating area. Overall a decent hotel which I would not
hesitate to use again.

I tried to book into this hotel after a long hot journey. I asked for a quiet
room at the end of the block. The desk clerk looked for a room but was
interrupted by a man who I assumed was the manager - I was told no available
rooms met my request which was strange as the clerk had just mentioned a suite.
They lost my custom - we were in Vancouver for a full week it seems just because
I requested 'a quiet room'.

Its hard to believe this MOTEL can be considered as a top place to stay in North
Vancouver. It is situated on Capilano Road which is a major route connecting the
Upper Levels Highway with Marine Drive which leads to the Lions Gate Bridge
accessing Vancouver Proper. It's not a hotel but a very dated 1960'ish MOTEL.
The sofa bed had a number of private part hairs on the supposedly clean sheets.
Old papers and receipts were scattered under the sofa bed when opened. A 1 inch
piece of soap remained in clear site on the bathroom floor for the duration of
our 5 nights stay. I lost the bet with my wife in estimating when the cleaning
staff would remove. I had to pay for all nights on check in so had no choice but
to stay. The breakfast offered was acceptable, but on 2 mornings my wife who ate
after I (about 0845) headed out on meetings found limited offerings and no
juices in the dispenser, no waffle syrup and no whole wheat bread. They do offer
cold boiled eggs and bagels. The price was okay, but you do get what you pay
for. Beware the single pane windows will find street noise from Gardner Road
behind the MOTEL and Capilano Road in front in extremely noticeable from 6 in
the morning until midnight. Ear plugs were of some help. I tried the Sofa bed as
I thought that room would be quieter but found it had a raised bar that dug into
my back at chest level causing some discomfort but did take my mind away from
the road noise.

We stayed here for three nights and found the room very clean and comfortable.
It's no Hilton or Loews hotel - think Ramada (in fact it used to be a Ramada)
but hey everything worked. Front desk staff was very accommodating (except for
one bloke who scolded me for not thinking ahead when I asked for change from US
to Canadian)
There is a complimentary breakfast provided consisting of juice, milk, coffee,
bagels, do-it-yourself waffles, and three kinds of cereal. The milk dispenser
was empty with an apologetic note attached - which makes me ask why couldn't
they run to the market and get some? In an unusual twist, there was breakfast
sausage available with a note attached to the outside of the warmer that these
were a special treat so don't ask for refills.
But this place is definitely a keeper, and actually a better property than the
Comfort Inn right next door (which I reviewed earlier).
The hotel offers free internet use in the lobby - but I was never able to print
anything.
