Spent NYE at the Granville Room with a few friends and had an excellent
time.
The food: surprisingly good! There was a set menu priced at $50 that included an
appetizer, entree and dessert. We all had a variety of the dishes and found them
to be spectacularly good for a lounge-type restaurant! I had the grilled
tenderloin and it was perfectly cooked and absolutely mouth-wateringly
delicious. For dessert, I had a chocolate/cookie concoction that was tasty, but
my friends all had their cheese cake w/red bull reduction. I wasn't adventurous
enough to order the cheese cake but did taste it and the red bull reduction was
really good (WHO KNEW!). They also have an excellent variety of cocktails and
martini's.
The service: Wonderful. Our waitress was patient, polite and prompt.
The value: Excellent for a NYE celebration. Other establishments were charging
upwards of $80, so dinner here was of great value. I found their drinks to be a
bit pricey at first ($9 a beverage) BUT, after tasting them I could understand
why. Their drinks have a significant amount of alcohol (not a whole lot of
filler/ice etc.).
The ambiance: Perfect. It's a great little place to celebrate with a few friends
or have a romantic dinner for a date.
I would highly HIGHLY recommend this place if you're looking for excellent food,
tasty drinks, and a chic and romantic atmosphere. |
