We arrived late after arriving off a flight from Las Vegas. We were
greeted by a pleasant person at check in but it all went wrong from
there. There was furniture stacked everywhere and it was very difficult
to move into the elevator. The corridors were clean but the decor was
dated and everything was just 'old'. On opening the room, the smell was
awful. I had emailed the hotel 2 weeks prior to arrival and requested a
king room. They said that would be no problem. We were given a double. I
tried to turn the TV on and guess what, it didn't work. It was simply
too late and we were just too tired to do anything about it but that's
not the point, we shouldn't have to be put in that position of needing
to move rooms. This should all have been checked and sorted prior to
arrival. On leaving the hotel, the breakfast wasn't ready on time and we
couldn't have any of it except some pre made coffee and stale buns and
we had to buy breakfast in the airport the following day. No apologizes
were given. The only positives were that the transport was on time, the
hotel was clean and the shower was warm. I will never book this hotel
again.

I just recall this place being busy. Great to sleep and great food.....
but not located near to much.

We were greeted at the front desk by friendly and efficient staff. The
room we stayed in was clean; had all the equipment we needed: iron,
ironing board, soaps, shampoo, lotion, etc. There were a large number of
towels to use. The fridge is always an added bonus, and the coffee
provided very delicious. The bed was not only clean, it was unbelievably
comfortable! The complimentary breakfast included coffee, juice, fresh
fruit yogurt, fried potatoes and zuccini slices, ham and sausages, and
croissant, and muffins and toast with a number of jams, peanut butter
etc. Very, very tasty. We also ordered room service; a chicken salad,
and a seafood fettucini. As usual the delivery was prompt, and again the
food was delicious. We have been to the Abercorn Inn four times in the
last few years. We will be going again in autumn. And... we are really
looking forward to the personal touch this Inn provides.
Room Tip: A room on the main floor when travelling with pet.

As long as you have no need for internet this place is okay. However, if you
need connectivity, expect to spend a l-o-n-g time waiting to do anything online.
I have complained to management countless times, but to no avail. Not
surprisingly, management always acts totally surprised about it, time after
time. I guess the water jets in the bathtub are supposed to placate me instead.
Try anywhere else if you need web access. It won't be any slower.
