I stayed at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport for one night post-cruise to
Alaska. The location is unbeatable for convenience with an early morning
flight like mine was - walk downstairs and the check in is right there.
The room was certainly attractive, and I loved the large soaking tub in
the bathroom. My only complaints: 1) the food in the Globe restaurant is
extremely overpriced and of average quality - my quesadilla contained
uncooked beef. 2) The minibar did not keep anything cold, no matter how
it was set. 3) I found the room quite noisy - both from outside runway
noise and interior noise. The room overlooked the north runway and the
gates were directly below the window. This was somewhat compensated by
the fantastic views of arriving planes. The interior hotel noise is
awful - I could hear room doors slamming all night and guests in
adjoining rooms talking. I'd recommend an end of hall room overlooking
the more distant runway if you are bothered by noise, as I am.

I stayed here for 2 nights for a business trip. The location of the
hotel couldn't have been better since I had to work in the airport. Nice
size flat screen TV and work area. The bed could have been more
comfortable. Bathroom has a tub and stand up shower which was really
great. Wifi is not free. $15CDN, which is ridiculous considering it's
$200CDN a night there. I would like to see that thrown in. The
restaurant and Jetside Lounge are nice. Both way overpriced. $26CDN
(before all the crazy Canadian taxes) for a breakfast buffet? No thanks.
I could not print my boarding pass in the reception area. Looks like
they only had a few airlines that you could do that for. This bothered
me quite a bit. Overall, I would stay there again but only if my company
was picking up the tab.

Stayed here overnight for a flight out the next morning. The staff were
great and the hotel had the feel of luxury , although a bit expensive
compared with other hotels in the area it was well worth it by avoiding
all the hassle of airport shuttles to and from the airport and finding
restaurants etc. We left from the US international departures right
below the hotel so the convenience factor was great, the view of the
runway and the added bonus of a telescope to watch the planes was a nice
touch and we slept very well -- no noise whatsoever -- if only all
hotels were as peaceful and quiet. The pillows and mattress were the
most comfortable we have slept on and the room was very nicely
furnished, some scrapes on the furniture and doors could be touched up
and the bottled water by the bed at $7 if you opened it was a bit much
.However the breakfast was very good and for a hotel of this class was
good value .Would certainly stay here again for an overnight flight out
the next morning.

This hotel is comfortable and elegant. I have stayed here many times and
am always impressed with how clean and how quiet it is (considering you
are at the airport). The only draw back is the gym is not really that
great. The machines are a little older with no tv reception on the
cardio machines. The beds are not as luxurious as the Westin Hotels or
the Sheraton Hotels. But, other than that, this is one of the best
hotels I have ever stayed!

The hotel entrance is situated in the US departure hall, just upstairs
from the arrival hall. So what can be easier than finding this hotel?
The quickest way to get a refreshing shower in your room and a dito
drink at the bar ... Staff service is impeccable. Breakfast is
delicious. The standard rooms are gorgeous, with spectacular views on
runways and/or mountains. We arrived after a long flight from London,
stayed one night, and came back five days later for a four hour day-use
room just before taking the flight back home; An excellent idea !
