Guest Reviews of the Accent Inn Vancouver Airport

I arrived in Vancouver after an overnight flight to a snow storm. My onward
flight to Vancouver Island was cancelled. I phoned the Accent Inn. The check in
lady immediately called the shuttle bus driver to find how soon I could be
picked up, and when I arrived at the hotel, I was checked in quickly, given an
excellent rate for the room, and was told I could occupy it immediately. (I had
assumed I'd have to wait till mid-afternoon to occupy it). The room was clean,
quiet and comfortable, so I was able to get some much needed sleep. Well done
Accent Inn, and thank you to the friendly staff.

I stay here every year for a family getaway. 5 person family. Like the fact
there is free wireless internet and free local calls, the motel doesn't nickel
and dime you for every little thing. Helpful staff and great value for money.

There's nothing terrible about the Accent Inn -- it's just a place to lay your
head for a night. I arrived in Vancouver at 10:40 pm and immediately phoned for
a shuttle to take me to the hotel. "The driver will be there in about 20
minutes," I was told. Two additional phone calls later, the cheerful driver
arrived just before midnight. No mention of why he was so late. He asked where I
was from (the US) and proceeded to give me his take on American politics. He was
still giving me his opinion 15 minutes after we arrived in front of the hotels
before I was able to excuse myself to go check in and call my wife. Comical if
it wasn't so late. "Did our driver bore the life out of you?" asked the night
manager who had been watching from the lobby but didn't intervene. "No, he's
very knowledgeable," I said. Next morning I went to use the Fitness Room which I
discovered was essentially an 8 x 7 closet with one broken and partially
dismantled treadmill and one creaky exercise bike. On the plus side, the morning
desk attendant was very friendly and drew me a map to IHOP. The shuttle driver
(different guy) who took me back to the airport seemed genuinely surprised when
I tipped him for hoisting my bag out of the van. I guess most customers assume
that "free shuttle" means no tipping necessary.
Unless you've just escaped from a Turkish prison, I'm not sure what there is to
rave about regarding the Accent Inn. It's not expensive but is close to the
airport and next to an IHOP. That's about it

I was happy with my stay here i stayed downtown Vancouver for one night only
cause all rooms were booked for Saturday, so had to stay in Richmond. It is an
older hotel but the room was nice and big, it was clean and price was decent.
Even though it wasn't downtown they did have a complimentary 24 hour shuttle
that would pick you up at the airport, where you could take the skytrain to
downtown Vancouver. Staff was awesome, so friendly and helpful. Room was clean.
Only thing was that there was no coffee or tea in the room and no breakfast
included. but there is an ihop right next door.

My review is based on a strong belief in treating all people with respect and
kindness. The accent inn was very clean, well-supplied with amenities and handy
to the airport and sky-train. However, it was the exceptional staff that made
for an amazing experience. They all worked together to create a special
environment to enhance the stay of each guest. Every staff member was friendly
and courteous; eager to be helpful in any way possible. We were assisted with
travel advice, nearby restaurants and services as well as flight confirmation
and boarding passes. We would most certainly return to this hotel at any time
just to relive such a great experience!!!

From the second one walks into the lobby of the Accent Inn, one is made to feel
part of a "family".........a "family" that cares.
The staff is ,obviously, effectively and meticulously trained. On top of which,
the personalities selected to be there demonstrate the wisdom of the Motel
Management.
Even the Housekeeping Department, employing people of various ethnic
backgrounds, demonstrate a joy in their work rarely experienced in the motel
industry.
Practical needs for the room are met at lightning speed.....again.......a rare
experience ( and I have been travelling constantly since 1969 ! )
There must be many motels and hotels to choose from, in and around Vancouver
Airport, but for this writer and frequent flyer, there is only ONE I will ever
choose - the Accent Inn, Richmond.

Arriving jetlagged it was great to know Accent had a shuttle - easy to
use from free phone and a short drive. Reception desk staff were
friendly and informative. The room was clean although a little dated -
very comfortable beds. Just about to climb into bed and the toilet
backed up and flooded the bathroom, staff offered us another room-
although it was an nuisance they responded quickly and without fuss so
we weren't sleep deprived. We were only stopping over 1 night before
heading off on a road trip but we used the skytrain to go into the city
and were guided to use a particular station were the shuttle could
transport us. IHOP next day very handy for a good breakfast. So although
I wouldn't suggest this hotel for a city break it is perfectly fine for
a brief stopover. |
