First off- don't stay in the front facing rooms because the intakes to the air
conditioner and heater are directly over the smoking benches and ashtrays out
front, right under the roof, so there is actually no place for smoke to go but
into these rooms.
Second- Complimentary breakfast is fake scrambled eggs swimming in water, meat
changes daily, hashbrowns. There is a selection of 1 muffin, 1 scone, 1 pastry.
Even if you are there when this stuff is brought out first thing, the food is
already cold.
Third- Cleaning staff doesn't clean, doesn't replace coffee, and when they do
show up it is after you have finished with your day.
Fourth- This is a good restaurant dead zone. Unless you want to rent a car,
spend hundreds on taxis, or ride the bus all day then go someplace else. The
food at the hotel is tolerable but overpriced, and they want extra to carry it
up one flight of stairs.
Fifth- Internet was like being on dial-up in Inuvik.

We stayed in this hotel for a layover. I would have had a better sleep at the
airport. The bathroom fan was CRAZY loud. I could hear people walking in the
halls. Not to mention the airplane and street noise. Ugg! The rooms we in
desperate need of a renovation. The white walls, dark brown trim, maple colored
headboards didn't work. Old tired carpets that should have been ripped out years
ago. Felt like being in a dungeon. I can only imagine what the rooms beside the
elevator where like... Eeeewww. The continental breakfast would have made an
Ogre happy, but not me. No bread for toast. But there was a toaster??? Powdered
eggs and microwave sausage. Dried out potatoes, I think they were suppose to be
hash browns? We were at breakfast at 6:30 am. If this was fresh someone should
explain to the Abercorn Inn what the definition of fresh is.
Please do not stay here. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is
close to the airport. They have a airport shuttle. The mini fridge in the room
worked. The beds were comfy if you could sleep with all the noise.

Room was very nice and clean. Bathroom updated, mattress very good, decor
pleasant. Breakfast was adequate with both hot and cold choices. Price much more
reasonable than downtown hotels. Only negative is that hallway carpet was worn
and loose in places.
Good place to stay--not too expensive and rooms clean and comfortable.
Transportation to and from airport. Car rental reasonable if going into
Vancouver has hotel shuttle
