We booked a queen suite through
www.allure-hotels.com for 2
nights, and found ourselves in the courtyard wing not directly attached
to the main building or the executive tower. The wing itself seems older
than the rest of the hotel, and clearly shows its age if you look
closely, with worn carpets in the hallway, some room signs replaced, a
musty smell, and cracks/peeling wallpaper in some areas. Upon entering
the room, its clear that they've tried to do some minor updating with a
flat panel TV and newer headboard, but again, the carpets, curtains,
wallpaper and appliances all look quite dated and out of the 1970s and
1980s. While clean enough and comfortable enough, if you look closely,
the wallpaper is again cracking in places, the door knobs have the paint
worn off, the door frames themselves were cracked and the air
conditioner, while functional, sounded like there was a turboprop plane
trying to take off just outside your room when it got going.
The pros: decent value for what you pay, complimentary wireless internet
(in our package) was fast and easy to use, free covered indoor parkade,
free hot breakfast was pretty decent, free airport shuttle, hardworking
staff, clean, spacious room, no frills.
The cons: Maybe it was just our suite, but old, in need of renos and
repairs. Maybe their tower rooms are newer and more modern, but we would
NOT book the suites again. Loud AC!! The parkade also is attached to the
other building which means you need to go down an elevator, walk outside
briefly, into the other building, up to the 3rd floor, before you can
access their parkade. In all fairness the hotel has potential, but would
need some serious renos and upgrades before we would consider
recommending it to friends. More like 2.5/5 stars

My wife and I along with our son and his wife stayed here prior to our
departure from Vancouver International. We had rented a one bedroom but
were upgraded to a 2 bedroom when we arrived. The room was very spacious
and offered good value for the money. Carpets were older and could have
been cleaner and the bathrooms were dated but clean. The beds were firm
(not our cup of tea) but the bedding was clean. The views of Richmond
and Vancouver were splendid and the kitchen area was well appointed and
useful although again somewhat dated. Internet access was charged at $10
per day and we had some difficulty with the movie quality for rental
movies, which were expensive.

We had a 85th Birthday Celebration involving all of our family. The
executive Hotel did a great job offering us various combination's of
rooms that allowed us as a family to be together for our party. The
suites were large enough to entertain 15 of us prior to our going to
diner at the Carver Steakhouse. Our diner and service was excellent,
with the staff going out of their way to make us feel very comfortable.
An added bonus was the buffet breakfast we enjoyed the next day. The
younger members of our family enjoyed the hot tub and the Foggy Dew Pub
downstairs. This Hotel had it all for us!

We have been dealing with the Executive for a while now, and never
disappointed. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. Located in
Richmond near Canada line makes it very convenient to go to Vancouver.
