Reviews of the Four Points Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel
Mar 3, 2011
Just like the title, this hotel gets two starts /circles for their beds
and its location.
Pros:
- Four Points and the Westin have better beds in the Starwood hotel
brands. It is one of the reason why I prefer to stay in this two brands.
- Different kinds of restaurants are around this hotel. It is likely to
get good food throughout the day.
- A bottle of water is available daily.
- Same as most of the airport hotels, coffee maker is available in room.
- Currency exchange service at the Front Desk.
Cons:
- Worse check-in I have ever had. The Front Desk Agent was not welcoming
at all at the beginning. Nothing was mention about the property. We
found out ourselves that a fitness center is available on site. This
negative experience totally ruined the start of my very first trip to
Canada. Overall service at the Front Desk was under expectation as a
Starwood property.
- Noise came from the hallway most of the time when we were in the room.
- The cleanness of guest room was not consistent.
- The hair dryer and the tub in bathroom were aged. (if you have long
hair, be sure to request a portable hair dryer to the room, otherwise it
will take you an hour to barely dry your hair.)
- It seemed no Bell service was available at this hotel base on
observation.
- Parking is $10 per night which is higher than parking in Downtown
Vancouver ( I paid $6 for whole day). Maybe that is how it is in the
area.

I had the opportunity to stay here for night before an early flight out
of YVR. For a Four Points, I was very impressed.
Location: convenient yet not. If you are taking a shuttle to and from
yvr it's great. The shuttle is free. I was was coming to the hotel from
downtown Vancouver via the skytrain and although not an overly long
walk, it wasn't close either. Nearby are many restaurants, mostly Asian,
so there will be many options to eat. If you are looking for a corner
store you are out of luck. I went to the Zellers in the mall behind the
hotel to get some corner store items.
Room: i really liked the room. Very clean. There was a great deep tub.
Not a Jacuzzi, but close in style. The shower was separate. There was a
mini fridge in the room. The bed was comfortable (though to be honest I
find most starwood hotel beds pretty good). Free internet was available.
If i had one complaint, i thought the room was a little cold, even when
i tried to turn up the thermostat.
Service: i thought the service was really great at the front desk. I had
never been in the area before, and the FD was able to point me to the
mall, give me a nice restaurant suggestion, accommodate a small room
request, and ensure my morning shuttle and wake up call. I'm sorry i
didn't get their names to be able to give feedback because i thought
they were super.
Notes: i didn't drive but parking is not free.
Overall: great four points with great service. I'm not sure i'd stay in
Richmond again unless I needed to be near the airport but if I did I
would come back here.

I normally do not sleep well in hotels. However I had one of my better
nights here. The staff were friendly and efficient and the room was very
clean and comfortable. It totally made up for being outside downtown
Vancouver.

Seriously, for a 3 to 3.5 star hotel , this hotel deserves a 5 star
rating.
I have stayed at this hotel three times already, it had been consistent
in terms of the friendliness of the staff, cleanness of the room, well
maintained room/furniture.
The hotel located about 10-15mins from YVR Airport. If you take Canadian
Line from YVR airport, its only 11 minutes away to Lansdowne Station,
then it is a short 5 minutes walk to the hotel. The hotel itself have 24
hour free shuttle services to/from airport, which is a nice thing to
have when you have more than few pieces of luggage's.
Checkin was efficient, was upgraded to one of their junior suite/corner
room as usual. The Bedroom itself is bigger than average hotel room in
its category. Huge bathroom with nice tub can fit one or two people
depends how big you area. Very clean room with enough fluffy towels. The
bed itself is comfortable enough. You can actually open the window from
bedroom or bathroom to let the natural air flow in.
There is a fitness center on lobby floor opens 24 hours. Internet is
also free. There is a restaurant within hotel serves very reasonable
price food which I did not try it but they were busy enough for a hotel
restaurant.
There are plenty dining options nearby the hotel within walking
distance. Make sure to try out the dim sum / Seafood restaurants next to
the hotel. Ask hotel staff for recommendation for great Chinese
restaurants nearby, you will not regret!
This is a solid hotel, I would not hesitate to stay here again when I
visit Vancouver again
