I stayed here once, and it was clean, and had great service. The
breakfast was also good.

What a pleasure it is to find a comfortable, clean hotel where the staff
can't seem to do enough for you. We used this hotel as our departure and
arrival overnight stay at each end of our two week vacation in Mexico.
We were greeted with genuine warmth and were pleasantly surprised with
the clean spacious room featuring a very comfortable king size bed. We
left our car in their long term parking which is available with a most
modest up charge on the room price. We also stored a large suitcase full
of winter clothes in the secure baggage room for the duration of our
trip plus made use of a safety deposit box to store some valuables that
we didn't wish to take. All this was complimentary and attended to with
the utmost courtesy. The also complimentary shuttle service took us to
the airport at 4.15 a.m. for the ungodly 6.30a.m. flight. Panko the
driver was even kind enough to pack us a lovely brown bag breakfast as
the breakfast service was not open till later. The same shuttle service
picked us up at the airport just after midnight within 15 minutes of our
phone call . This hotel is the travelers dream. If you need to overnight
in Vancouver this is the only place to stay ,the service is worthy of a
hotel costing three times as much. We spent an extra few days downtown
Van. visiting my daughter and we were able to leave the car as well as
our summer clothes suitcases at the hotel for just a few dollars. Thank
you so much for such a pleasant and seamless stay. We look forward to
seeing you in the future. When it comes to gracious service you have
raised the bar.

I chose to stay at this hotel primarily because of the good reviews . I
needed to catch a flight to YVR and the shuttle service they had was a
necessity for getting there. When I inquired about availability and
asked a few questions about the rate, the rate I was given was not the
same as the rate I was asked to pay when I actually booked the room.
After I explained the rate was different from the one originally
provided, the price was adjusted without difficulty.
The pool is decent with a small hot tub. I did not use the fitness
center, but the bikes, treadmills and ellipticals seemed to be of good
quality. The computer I used that they provide to guests worked fine,
but it was very cluttered with programs that other people had decided to
install. I think they should clean them up, install the three or four
browsers that people generally use and then lock them up so only an
administrator can install new programs. If an issue comes up and a new
program is needed, the front desk staff can have the password to allow
the install. The Firefox icons I tried using seemed to be all dead
links. After several tries, I finally found one that would work. This
was a mild annoyance. Then When I logged into the airline website, I was
told the browser needed to be updated as it was not secure enough. I
then had to upgrade Firefox before I could use the airline web check in.
As I was trying to web check in for a flight there seemed to be a
technical issue. There is no phone in that room that allows you a make a
phone call while on the computer. I had to sit out in the lobby to speak
with a airline rep with no ability to troubleshoot the system while on
the phone. I think this needs to be rectified. Put a phone in the
computer room!
The kids wanted a bath before going to bed, so my wife washed out the
tub (the tub was clean already, but it makes a parent feel better doing
it again) and then waited 10 minutes for it to drain 2 inches of water.
There was a definite blockage somewhere down the drain. After I had a
shower later, I was standing in 4-5 inches of water. I mentioned it to
the front desk during one of my many trips down to the computers and
they offered to fix it right away. I declined since we were finished
using it, and he made a note to have it fixed the next day. We were put
in the same room when we returned from our trip and the drain was
functioning normally. Good to see.
Breakfast was decent but compared to some of the other morning hotel
breakfasts I have had, it was middle of the pack in selection. That
being said, it certainly met the standard of what you would expect to
get, but I have had others that surprised me with the selection of items
available.
The airport shuttle was good, they offered to leave early since we were
the only ones booked for that time slot and it was a 15 minute drive to
YVR. When we returned, I phoned the hotel and explained we would need
picking up in about 20 minutes. I then started my stopwatch to ensure we
would not be late. I had hoped to be at the pick up a little early but
due to missing luggage issues that were rectified in short order we
arrived at the pick-up about 20 seconds after the 20 minute mark. On the
way back to the hotel, the driver sounded a bit annoyed that he had to
circle around 4 times before we arrived at the pick up and that perhaps
I should call closer to when we need picking up. I would think that
arriving within 20 seconds of the requested pick-up time is pretty good.
Perhaps he should not leave the hotel so early. He was otherwise very
professional and friendly and provided great service.
In the end, the hotel was quiet, clean, provided 2 soft and 2 firm
pillows on every bed, and I would stay again. Just please put a phone in
the computer room.
