Family we were next door to costco which was the purpose of the trip.
The room was fine and we weren't bothered by the traffic. There is
secured parking, a complimentary breakfast and free airport shuttle. We
were allowed a late check out , by very obliging staff, as we had later
appointments. It was a very satisfactory choice. Will stay again

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Included breakfast was really good considering the room rate charged.
Parking was easy and secure. There was a slight smell in the corridor
area leading to the hotel rooms. The room air conditioner was a bit
noisy.

Excellent Value, but...
…the neighborhood might not be what is needed if you are looking for
local/walkable restaurants/shopping/etc. The hotel shuttle worked quite
well, it arrived after only a short wait and got us off the airport
property without paying the $5 fee charged by any other conveyance,
including mass transit. Room was clean and quiet, just perfect after a
day flying. Breakfast the following morning was not the most complete
breakfast buffet ever seen, but quite adequate, clean, fresh and hot
items hot, cold items cold. Only a short walk (about 2 long blocks, not
difficult even with wheeled luggage, but go around the back of Costco,
less traffic, better sidewalks) from the hotel to Skytrain station and
from there an easy ride to Canada Place to board the cruise ship.

Noisy rooms with paper thin walls
I chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Express for a wedding. My previous
experience was always pleasant with HI Express and therefore I was
expecting the same. The check-in was speedy and probably took less than
5 min. The interior of the hotel looked a bit dated, but was clean
nonetheless. I stayed in a room at the end of the hall. The room size is
on the small side with two queen beds. Everything was going well until
the people next door returned. They had young kids with them, and I
could hear EVERYTHING they were doing. There were no connecting doors
between the two hotel rooms, yet I could still hear everything. They
went to bed late and woke up at 7am. I could hear the kids screaming and
watching cartoon on TV. I was surprised how bad the sound-proofing was.
Breakfast was OK, what you would expect for HI express. I would not
visit this hotel again based on my stay. I’d rather spend more money to
stay at a hotel where I can get a better night rest.

On arrival to Vancouver we decided to stay one night, close to
the airport and then head out the next day. Our initial night at
this hotel was quite a pleasant one. The room we neat and clean,
the bed was soft (although we were probably very tired from the
long flight over!!). Breakfast in the morning was enjoyable and
the staff were friendly and courteous. Given that we had
experienced a favourable experience on our arrival, we decided
to book in at the motel on our departure. Again the room was
clean and tidy. The motel is very handy to the airport (10
minutes away). The only drawback would be that it would take
approximately 45 minutes to reach north Vancouver (where some of
the major attractions are ie Grouse Mountain, Capilano Bridge).
It was also unfortunate that the motel computer was not
operational during our stay. I would rate this motel as good as
opposed to very good.
