Guest Reviews of the River Rock Casino Hotel Resort

Having been to the River Rock Casino Resort frequently
since it opened and been through the pains of the
renovations I am disappointed that the renovations
didn't make the resort more appealing. One of the main
issues for us was that the great coffee shop that was on
the water side and served good breakfasts and quick,
inexpensive dinners has disappeared. The only choice for
breakfast is the Buffet, room service or a sandwich in
the food court. We were looking for a la carte breakfast
in a nice place - you have to go outside the hotel and
drive into Richmond for this! Dinner choice is in the
expensive (though lovely) Italian restaurant, the
Buffet, the food court or one of the two lounges. Opting
for the lounge we were disappointed at the noise level
and the food which was, at best, mediocre. Check in was
moved upstairs in a remote area - hard to find if its
your first time. Seemed much more welcoming when it was
on the main floor (next to the now vanished coffee
shop). The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds
comfortable, nice linens, robes and slippers and thick
towels and it's a fun place to stay if you are
interested in the Casino. Parking is free (unless you
use valet service) but is a ways away and the walk
between the parking and the hotel is not covered (bring
an umbrella for a rainy day). Right on the Vancouver Sky
Train line so easy to get to other areas of the city. .

The suite we stayed in had a comfortable king size bed &
nice sheets.
There was a pull out couch in the room, but didn't use
it.
Booked the hotel & concert through the hotel/casino
website.
Picked up the tickets for the evening at the concierge
(easy).
Had good seats for the theatre, the package included a
buffet breakfast
(lots to choose from).
And a couple vouchers for the casino.
Free parking or you can use the valet ($12.50)
They could use an upgrade of televisions in the room.
(They have the big boxy type & need flat screens.)
Had a late dinner at the Restaurant Tramonto, in the
hotel. Guest Reviews of the River Rock Casino Hotel Resort

I booked this room a couple weeks in advance due to my
visit and when i got there things were not what i
expected. To begin with i had a problem with my
reservation. After it was solved i got to the room and i
could immediately smell a bad odour of smoke which i
thought was a non smoking room. After getting settled in
I called to see about the smoke and they brought
febreeze which didn't help at all. I noticed mould on
the baseboards and asked for another room and they said
they couldn't due to being booked but it didn't seem
that busy... So whatever I just won't stay there again

Convenient, Clean and Reasonable
First time staying at the River Rock. I was duly
impressed. Nice comfortable room. Good service and if
you want - there is a Casino at your doorstep. Otherwise
a quick cab ride into Steveston for a nice dinner.

Awesome hotel terrible location
I loved the hotel but the location is more industrial.
If you like the casino OR going to a show this is the
place to be!
