Stayed here for 1 night with my wife and 2 very young kids. Very good
service, clean and comfortable stay. Our thermostat in the room did not
work at all (thus no fan), but we opened 2 windows and it was cool
enough for the night. I was initially worried about the location being
so far off in the opposite corner of Richmond away from the airport and
all the good Chinese food places, but the drive really wasn't an issue
at all and hwy 99 was very easily accessible. There's also a nice little
Richmond County Farm nearby for the kids to visit and fresh fruits if
you need. Would definitely stay here again with the family.

As the name of the hotel implies, this is an "express" no frills added
place to stay. It is quiet, comfortable, and has an airport shuttle.
Either the hotel is quite new or else the area is newly developed
(there's a big cinema/plaza right next door).
The rooms were ok but the thermostat in our room was a bit wonky. We
were freezing but the thermostat said the room was 78-80+ degrees. We
kept the fan on which was only slightly better than having the frigid
A/C running. I think the heat of a bath/shower causes the thermostat to
go out of whack.
There is breakfast included (a bit above the regular fare, with bacon,
omelets, eggs). Rooms have wifi connection. Parking is free though the
spots close to the hotel get filled quickly. Distance to Vancouver is
about 20-30 minutes. Also very convenient to the Tsawwassen Ferry since
you're right next to the highway junction.

This is my third review and we have never been disappointed. They were
so concerned with our well being and comfort during our stay that they
offered us a choice of rooms incase we found our room too noisy. (They
had a large conference the weekend we were there.)
Every detail was taken care of and the breakfast omelets was and still
is the best!! They even have a new pancake machine :) YAY! Does it get
any better??? I think not.
For those wanting a romantic getaway with your loved one, we highly
recommend it! You are close to IKEA - YAY! A must to keep her happy. And
ladies, there is a movie theatre there, an ice rink, Gold's' Gym and
more!
Visit the Brown's Supper Club on Steveston Hwy (about 3 minutes from the
hotel) if you're going. What a great place!! Can't wait to go back
again!!
The front desk staff is totally amazing!! Way to go Guys!! Thanks a
bunch!! And the restaurant supervisor has a great sense of humor...
perhaps she is responsible for all those omelets' ??? - You guys better
keep her!! LOL

We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express to avoid a costlier stay in
downtown Vancouver. It was worth the extra 5 or 10 minutes to get there!
The hotel was the usual high-standards of Holiday Inn Express. There was
warm breakfast as well as the typical treats, such as danishes, bagels
and cereals, to name a few.
The room is pretty standard. One thing to note, is that the air
conditioner is not the typical noisy, annoying window unit. It is more
like central air-conditioning with a thermostat.
So besides cost, why stay here? First, Vancouver's excellent public
transportation system is virtually right outside the hotel. Just a short
walk to the bus stop., which in just a few minutes takes you to the Sky
Train which will take you into downtown. There are restaurants and
entertainment including an IMAX also within walking distance. A quick
drive will take you to more restaurants and shopping, Farmers Markets
and fruit stands. So a little country for the soul and access to the big
city for the haute couture. Why not?
In fact, you don't actually need a car to get around. You can take
public transportation from the airport to just about anywhere in
Vancouver and the surrounding area, including Richmond. The hotel will
pick you up at the airport also, or it's just as easy to jump on the Sky
Train and then take the bus. We bought a $9 day-pass for the public
transportation, which will get you on the Sky Train, the bus and the sea
bus. Unlike in Los Angeles, It's all very clean and feels safe!
One last thing, this hotel does NOT charge for parking. In Vancouver,
that is a plus. Almost every other hotel we checked out charged a daily
rate, sometimes as much as $30! The cost of parking is another good
reason to take public transportation. Not just at hotels, but also to
park and go shopping or sight-seeing.

We stayed for an extended time and were completely blown away by the
hospitality of all the staff. Wonderful service, clean rooms, great
breakfast buffet, shuttle service, and location made this a great
experience. I will definitely be staying here next time I am in town.
When you return from a long day of work there was warm, freshly baked
cookies awaiting us at the front counter...come on. who doesn't like
freshly baked warm cookies. |
