Free and pricey sites to woo Vancouver Olympic crowds

The City of Vancouver will host two free sites for the public to watch events and live entertainment during the 2010 Winter Games. People who want to experience the roar of the crowds during the www.vancouver2010.com, but don't have tickets, will still have several options for watching the events

The two sites will be joined by a walkway down Hamilton Street and both LiveCity sites will be open from late morning to late evening, throughout the Olympic Games, but only the West Georgia site will be remain open for the Paralympics Games in March.
 

LiveCity Yaletown

LiveCity Yaletown will offer over 18,580 square metres of celebration space at the waterfront David Lam Park. Situated along the waters of False Creek and adjacent to Vancouver’s trendy Yaletown district and the Yaletown Canada Line station, this location is bordered on the north by Pacific Boulevard, on the south by False Creek, the east by Drake Street and west by Homer Street.

LiveCity Yaletown will be open during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games (February 11 to 28, 2010) Proposed hours 11 am to 11 pm, seven days a week.

LiveCity Downtown

The former bus depot site, with 11,800 square metres of space, will host Olympic and Paralympic sport and culture programming. This location, in the heart of downtown Vancouver and next to the Stadium SkyTrain station, is bordered by Dunsmuir Street to the north, West Georgia Street to the south, Cambie Street to the west and Beatty Street to the east.

LiveCity Downtown will be open during both the 2010 Olympic Winter Games (February 13 – 28, 2010, daily 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 a.m.) and the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games (March 12 – 14 and March 18 - 21, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)

Molson Canadian Hockey House

5-star option for hockey fans
Anyone willing to fork over $500 a day will be able to watch the Olympic hockey games in luxury seating on the big-screen televisions, while rubbing elbows with former Team Canada players and NHL stars.

The price of admission will get ticket-holders a lineup of 17 private concerts, complementary Molson beer and a menu prepared by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck....more
