If you are riding the ferry to Victoria, this is the
perfect place to be. A short 2 block walk and incredible
views of the harbour - close to everything.

Stayed for 2 nights over the weekend. Nice hotel in a
good location. Had water front view from the room.
Nothing fancy - but a comfortable room. Balcony's are
standing view only - to narrow for a chair. Pool was
nice - indoor/outdoor aspect which was pretty cool -
would be awesome in the rain in winter. Hot tub jets
quite mild compared to an average tub.
Blue Crab restaurant was quite nice - views are amazing
the service was great. Highly recommend having a drink
or two there. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food.
Overall - good hotel, nothing fancy but great views and
good location.

Nice friendly greeting from the front desk. Very
helpful. Room was good except the bathroom. The maid
left a dirty towel on the sink counter and it the
bathroom has some light odor. The Blue Crab restaurant
was great. Good food and service. Very nice relaxing
harbor view. Great walk alone the seawall leads all the
way to downtown. I will return to this hotel again.

Well, the parking was free but internet was
old-fashioned...plug it in - no wireless. (in this day
and age?)
Pillows lumpy - should be thrown into trash. Mattress
not great!
Bit of a view of the water and marina. Nice looking pool
but didn't hve time to use it.
Bar staff really nice as was front desk staff.
Restaurant - go elsewhere. After the breakfast at the
Coast Bastien in Nanaimo we were in shock that the
"fruit" of the breakfast was an apple or a rotten
orange. Muffins looks under baked and horrible. Worst
buffet breakfast I've ever seen.
I would NOT recommend this hotel to friends.
Does have a nice walking path in front of the hotel for
walking in evening and benches for sitting and watching
the boats. A long walk to attractions but near the
cruise ship port.
Bar staff really nice.

My wife and I just spent our anniversary in Victoria and
we stayed at Coast Harbourside for the whole time. I
guess I will start with the good things first:
- Although it's not in the core of downtown Victoria, it
is also right by the water and just minutes from all the
tourist attractions by foot.
- We really like the complimentary shuttle service,
especially it was pouring rain outside. We didn't only
get a ride to go for dinner, we also got a lift to come
back to the hotel.
Unfortunately, here are the bad things:
- I made the reservation through the Central Reservation
of the Coast chain and I was guaranteed a room with the
view of the harbour and the city for the rate we paid.
But we were very disappointed when we showed up and
found out that we only got a room that is facing the
opposite side of the view that we were promised.
Apparently the message wasn't passed across to the hotel
staff and the hotel was very full that weekend, we had
no choice but to spend our anniversary in a room with
nothing romantic to show my wife.
- I'm not sure if it was because the doors at the hotel
are on the thin side or if it was because our neighbors
of the night were keeping themselves very busy in the
hallway, we couldn't help but overhearing their
conversations until very late at night.
After all, it's a relaxing weekend. I guess I should
give the hotel a call in advance next time to make sure
they "didn't forget" about what they promised to offer. |
