I have been staying a various modestly priced hotels in Victoria planning for
upcoming grandma visits and I had the pleasure of staying at the Traveller's Inn
Central based on it's price and it's highest rating on tripadvisor of all the
various Traveller's Inns in Victoria. I was very happy with the accommodations
and the friendliness and helpfulness of the whole staff. This Inn is not ritzy
but the room I stayed in for the week had air conditioning, a microwave and
fridge. The room although a little dated with few spare plug ins was clean and
tidy. The Inn does not have an elevator so plan on a few trips upstairs if you
have much luggage. I wouldn't recommend staying on the 1st floor as the room's
windows are at ground level. I felt safe even after dark and though it is a
little awkward getting into and out of the parking lot I quickly found my way to
my destinations. The manager Ben was very accommodating of my last minute extra
night stay and I was not overcharged as I have been at other hotels in the
higher priced summer months. I found the best rate was booking directly through
the Traveller's Inn website or calling directly vs using Expedia, Travelocity,
Hotels.com, etc. through this website, not sure why. There is no on site
restaurant but the ABC restaurant was just across the street. Though not right
downtown on Douglas it was close enough as I had a car and the bus runs right
by, the Mayfair mall is just up the street as is a Denny's. It's crazy busy
downtown in the summer and parking is expensive vs free at the Inn. The hotel
provides a pass to a fitness facility and there is wireless internet in the
rooms and a computer in the lobby. I look forward to more stays at this

The Hotel is near Johnston Street Bridge and Market Square. Another attraction
in the area includes downtown Victoria and all its attractions. We were here to
explore Victoria so no need for anything fancy
The Traveller's Inn - Central provided a complimentary airport shuttle, and
coffee in the lobby. Our room which was a little worn but clean had cable
television, air conditioning, and shower/tub combinations.

Basic hotel for the price. Good friendly staff
The beds and bedding felt a bit worn, but non the less clean. There’s a
Traveller’s Inn every half-block or so, practically, So I might try one of the
other ones next time. Hopefully the rate will be as good. I just needed the room
for one night just a place to put my head down so it did not need to be fancy
and this one suited my purpose just fine.

We came here after a lousy experience at the Vacation Inn up the road. The front
desk girl apologized profusely for our experience there and gave us the Jacuzzi
suite for the regular price. Much appreciated. The Jacuzzi suite has no shower,
just a tub, so be forewarned. The bed was reasonably comfy (king size) and the
room was clean. These aren't luxury hotels but their a good value if you're not
picky about the small things and just need a place to sleep. I've stayed at this
location a few times and it's never disappointed.
Tip: ABC Country Restaurant is right across the street and has great breakfasts
for a reasonable price.

I booked 2 rooms from my local travel agent about 2 weeks ahead. We got there at
11:30pm after visiting Butchart Gardens. The front desk is clean, the front desk
girl was the only person working in that time.
Once we got into the rooms, the bathrooms are clean, both rooms don't have hair
dryer. One of them's A/C blows only room temp air.
There were only 2 big and 2 small size towels. I went to ask the front desk
girl, she couldn't find any for me, all ran out.
Their advertising said there is internet to use, I was told there is not
internet in the moment even the hotel itself. I checked with her again in next
day morning, the internet was still not back yet. When ever problems occurred,
the front desk girl was not friendly and fix the problem quickly.

my friends and i went to Victoria without any idea on where we are staying/we
drove and shop around for a hotel and finally we came to this corner and saw
Travellers inn...the front desk was so clean and the reservation agents were
very much friendly, the ambience was very inviting....we checked in and when got
in to our room, it felt like i was in my room...very clean, organize and
relaxing. the kind of room we are looking for....instead of going out right
away....we stayed longer in the room and felt relax afterwards...
i would say that this hotel will be one of my favorite hotels in Victoria...a
home away from home

Our family stayed in several rooms booked far in advance for a planned family
vacation. On arrival one of the suites [all were to have kitchens] had been
given away, despite our having checked several times to avoid such a calamity.
Although there was no charge for the substituted regular room, it did not offset
the disappointment this caused. Dealing with the young staff at front desk was
not helpful; mature staff were better.
The rooms were definitely not well cleaned and we had to repeatedly request
needed items from housekeeping.
There are no elevators, just stairs to haul up your luggage.
The up side to the hotel is a car rental in the lobby .There is a mall within 2
blocks and regular bus service on the busy street outside.
Although other family members would return, I'd pay the extra to stay at the
Sandman down the street which offers the same location benefits.
