Definitely would recommend
For the price paid, the location, customer service, and
cleanliness is unbeatable. Most of downtown Victoria is
within walking distance. The staff were very
accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean and
comfortable despite their age. The rooms face a busy
street so it can be a bit noisy, but this should be
expected given the location. Overall, a great place for
the price (when comparing surrounding hotel’s prices). I
would definitely go back.

Value for money hotel in Victoria, Vancouver Island,
Canada
The Bedford Regency hotel was a very good small hotel,
centrally located in the city of Victoria, Vancouver
Island, Canada. The room and facilities were very clean
and well equipped. It was in walking distance of all
sights, restaurants, transport etc. It was recommended
to us by a family member, who had previously visited
from Australia and stayed at this hotel. It even had
free internet available.

Funky spot for restless travellers
Great high ceiling character rooms right in downtown
Victoria. Location by the harbour doesn’t get much
better than this. The washrooms are a little worn out
with lowflow utilities and a sliding door that fell off
the hinges. The mid wall to ceiling windows and ledge
offered an amazing view of street life while allowing
plenty of natural light and sea air in. The only real
downfall was the obnoxious Saturday night 3am bar
patrons crawling home. If you’re one of them, this would
be the perfect spot for you.

Hotel room had 2 beds as requested, but no dresser or
other enclosed furniture in which to put clothing.
Closet had no door and was about 6 inches wide. There
were 2 high open shelves with extra pillows and other
items on them, which we removed to use to place our
clothing. There was one chair in the room and a large
table/desk with no drawers. A/C was a window box unit.
TV was a 15 inch set on stand. Bathroom door was a
sliding door which frequently came off its track,
locking someone in until a person on the outside put it
back on track. A card to indicate the free coffee/tea
service in the morning was present upon checkin and
delivered the first morning, but no card or service for
the rest of the stay. To get ice, it was necessary to go
up to the bar/restaurant and ask for it. It was
willingly and quickly given, but not the best
atmosphere. The odor of strong coffee permeated the
hallways from the 'bistro' downstairs. Location on the
main street was good, but a 15 minute walk to the
harbor. No good restaurants nearby.

We were looking for a single night stay in Victoria as
we were on our way elsewhere, so wanted to stay in the
middle of the action. A more palatial room was not
needed as we were intending to get out to some restos/pubs
and see the town. This hotel fits the bill. Simple room.
Simple amenities. Simple tv. Clean and quiet. Great
location. There are a few pubs nearby some one wonders
and about the noise but we never heard a peep even with
the window open. Coffee shop in the lobby was a little
strange. The only thing I think they could improve is
getting the laundry and cleaning carts out of the
corridor. It seems they sat there all day. Good value.
Would definitely stay there again.
