Guest Review of the Brentwood Bay Lodge & Spa in Victoria BC

Overall, you'll enjoy this place if you're looking for a romantic getaway or
a relaxing trip.
We definitely had a great experience staying here:
The room was great, had a gorgeous view of the ocean which was also visible
from the jet tub in the bathroom. The balcony was also very nice....
noteworthy is that the room was spacious and decorated beautifully as well.
The bed was also quite comfortable.
The restaurants are beautiful, also with gorgeous views, but the food was a
hit and miss: the meal we had at Seagrille was underwhelming, neither the
entree nor the desert were anything to write home about, also the service
was painfully slow. We had more luck at the Pub upstairs, the meals there
were totally acceptable-however the Pub definitely needs New Napkins, You
would not want to wipe your mouth with those napkins.
The staff were simply wonderful and very accommodating, definitely a huge
plus for this property.
As for Cleanliness, the room/bathroom areas were very clean, but the towels
were showing their age and didn't feel very clean. Also, I was slightly
skeptical about the cleanliness of the bed sheets, I should say they seemed
acceptably clean, though when it comes to bed sheets, you probably prefer
surgically clean....
There's also a nice pool, and a spa that we didnt try. The grounds around
the hotel are also very gorgeous....
Overall, an absolutely lovely boutique property in a gorgeous area-give it a
try if you decide to visit Vancouver Island.

My [at the time fairly new] boyfriend was eager to impress me on our first
ever weekend trip together and so he took me here.
We walked into the hotel and it had a nice lobby that opened up into the
restaurant. The lady at the desk was very warm and friendly. She brought us
to our room (all rooms have an outside entrance btw) and we walked in and
said "Wow!" It was a great room. Good size. The decor was simple, modern and
relaxing. We loved the huge bed. There were two leather reclining chairs by
the fireplace in the corner and a small table in the other corner. A nice
sized balconey with a table and chairs - lovely view of the ocean.
The bathroom!! It was awesome! And very very clean. There are shutters that
open so you can see out into the room and beyond. And a huge jet tub. It was
fantastic (I have never taken so many baths in one weekend in my entire
life!). Two of us could fit in it just fine (though we are both on the small
size). You could also see the flat screen TV from the tub. I watched the
last half of a hockey game in there (now THAT"s how you watch a game!)
Heated floors, complimentary robes and a great shower, as well.
We ate dinner there just one of the nights. I am not a huge sushi fan, but
my boyfriend was dying over it (in a good way). He said it was super, super
fresh. I have since forgotten what I had, unfortunately. The breakfasts were
also very very good (egg benedict was great).
We did not try the spa so I cannot comment on that.
Guys, if you want to impress and/or pamper your special lady, this is a good
place to do it!
It is a bit pricey, though. So we might not make it back there for a while.
But we'd LOVE to return.

We selected this resort for the purpose of taking our first trip away from
the kids. We wanted to rest, relax, and get pampered in the spa. When you
come upon the resort, it is tucked away, along the shore of the beautiful
Brentwood Bay. It is in a residential area, but not intrusive. It blends
into the environment, it is somewhat humble in size, not a monstrous resort
that you would find in So-Cal.
It has open-air walkways and entry to rooms. The property is maintained
perfectly. The building is spotless and absolute perfection. Traditional NW
cedar panels meets accents of modern Asian and Euro touches. NOT like IKEA
in any way. Tremendous floral design, and local artists art covers walls.
Fireplaces shimmering.
A view that embraces you.
Eagles diving for fish.
The cutest little inter-island ferry has a terminal in the marina out front.
Comes and goes quietly.
Absolute quiet, yet a lively dining environment at the front of the resort
to meet other travelers and locals.
The rooms are exceptional. LARGE jetted tub, heated floors in bath, soft
warm lighting, fresh flowers in entryway, invisible housekeeping who leave
little surprises (such as pillow spray that is to die for!), bedding is soft
& warm but not too heavy, pillows are PERFECT, balcony is spacious with
table & chair to have meals on if you wish, beautiful wood furniture (by
hotel standards anyway), stunning riverock/granite shower.....list goes on.
Three dining options:
Sushi Bar
Gourmet restaurant
Pub
Also, a full room service menu.
Spa is exceptional. I had the "Winter Warm Up" with a warm oil scalp massage
and a rainshower after (rainshower was SO cool! LOVED it!). Then I had a
manicure and a pedicure. Perfect.
Husband had Relaxation massage and Detox body wrap. He had NOOOoo
complaints.
Again, attention to detail was remarkable.
Front desk staff are exceptional.
What impressed me was the fluidity. All staff, right down to the
housekeepers were first class. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and gave you
such a warm greeting, yet complete privacy. So professional.
