Grand Pacific was a great experience
The staff were excellent, from the wait staff in the restaurant to the
housekeeping lady. Front desk was very helpful and we simply had a very relaxed
and enjoyable time. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the room was
spacious and inviting. The food quality in the restaurant was very good and
given the fact that it rained the weekend we were there, the hotel was actually
a very nice place to just hang out. I think the number one thing you got right
was to have well-trained staff with great attitudes and customer service. This
asset can overcome almost any other problem and there really was nothing I
could pinpoint that detracted from a great weekend. Great job!
Area recommendations
Butchart Gardens and some of the older homes. However, go during the
spring/summer as the weather plays a part

Central Location
Visited in the winter, so hotel wasn't that busy. Staff were very attentive and
polite. Can't beat the location - right in the harbour next to the parliament
buildings.Reviews of the Hotel Grand Pacific Victoria

Great hotel but gratuitous noise at night a problem.
We have stayed at the Grand Pacific many times and will continue to do so, but .
. . .for those of us who want fresh air at night with the balcony door open, the
fans on the roof are irritating and they run all night long. This last trip the
lanyard on the flag pole on top of the building was not tied off correctly and
slapped against the flag pole all night. (When they raised the flag in the
morning the lanyard was tied off correctly and thus no problem). Additionally,
between 1:00am and 2:00am one night someone was running what sounded like a
pressure washer somewhere in front of the hotel or possibly across the street.
The manager promised to investigate all these problems. Lastly, the quality of
the food in the Pacific Restaurant was way down from past visits. As to the
latter however, Pablo's Dining Lounge, a superb French restaurant on past
visits, is back in business. If it is anything as good as it was before it
closed, this will be a major reason to travel to Victoria. Also, the Harbour
House Restaurant even closer to the hotel is still outstanding, but don't be put
off by its unpretentious exterior.

Really clean and nice hotel. The staff is amazing, not once was I ignored when I
walked by them, they all greeted me. The food is really good in room service,
though I would add more items to the dinner menu.
The Pacific restaurant and lounge in the hotel are really good. Pricey but the
food makes up for it.
Rooms are good, had my own balcony, only thing that sucks is you cant smoke in
the balcony , all they need to do is provide as ashtray.
Had a great stay, and if I return to Victoria, this is where I will be staying!

The Grand Pacific is a lovely hotel on the Inner Harbor. We had a nice
harbor-view room, and were treated with beautiful views of the harbor every
morning and evening. For breakfast, there is a nice little coffee shop on the
lower floor, and the restaurant has a lovely service on the outside terrace for
dinner. They think of everything - the night we ate there was a little chilly,
and the waiter provided us with blankets to keep us warm!
The location is great - a short walk to everything going on in the harbor - one
morning we had an early fishing reservation, and it took us literally 5 minutes
to walk to the charter - how convenient!
The Concierge at the hotel was quite good in recommending restaurants and
events. They even helped us book a fishing charter with Killer Beez, and they
were great - we tried for halibut, but the sea was too rough, so we went salmon
fishing, and caught ourselves a delicious dinner.
I would love to return to Victoria, and if I do, I will definitely stay here
again.

This hotel is very old and has a strange smell. It has no Wireless Internet in
its rooms (unbelievable), and it charged me $6 for ONE sheet of fax to Vancouver
BC.
Highly recommend that you stay away from it for business -- it's going to kill
your productivity.

I was here recently after having been away for almost four years, but they still
had all of my preferences on file and accommodated them. Despite the excellent
service and very comfortable rooms, my main reason for staying here is their
health club. It's a real health club, not a converted guest room, with racquet
courts, an ozonated pool (currently being repaired, an aerobics room, a full
weight room, and about a dozen cardio machines. Two caveats: I don't eat in
their restaurant (it's not terrible, but neither is it great), and I try not to
stay in the old wing of the hotel (originally an entirely different hotel which
was incorporated into the construction of the current building). That said, it's
stilll always my first choice in Victoria.
