A nice upgraded clean heritage hotel. Front desk staff went out of their way to
help. The location is quiet but the plumbing system was a bit noisy for us. It's
an old building afterall. No fault to the hotel. The noise was simply caused by
the guests but it usually stops after midnight. Great value for a partial harbor
view unit. Just $10 more for a unit on the 2nd floor.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, great parking...clean room. HOWEVER, we were very
disappointed in the beds in our room. Both bed sloped towards the center of the
room and we spent most of the night with me trying NOT to slide over onto my
husband. Both beds were sloped so it didnt matter which one we slept in. Was a
very uncomfortable sleep all three nights.
Also i personally find it very insulting to have to pay to park at a hotel where
i am paying for a room....!!!

For most of the beautiful things there is to see in Victoria, this hotel is
within walking distance too. The parliament buildings, the museum, the empress
hotel, government street, shopping, the harbour - i could go on and on. And for
what we paid (may have been a fall special) of $69 (PLUS with FREE parking!!) -
likely the best value around! Place was very clean, nice amenities, but i
strongly feel it is all about the area. The bad thing was just the noise of the
surrounding rooms.. the sounds of other peoples plumbing, whether it was there
sink, or shower, was actually really loud. That being because i am sure the
building is so old. Still a great value though, and i will stay there again
because of the area.

We took the ferry from Port Angeles WA. This hotel could be seen from the ferry,
it's so close, about 2 blocks. The staff was excellent, most helpful. We had
breakfast there, great food, good portions - by that I mean not so oversized
you're stuffed beyond belief. The room had two queen beds, fairly comfortable.
Good sized bath, for 3 travelers. It's located within walking distance of
attractions like the Royal BC Museum, a few blocks from the Parliament building
and the Empress hotel.

Stayed here one night. Had a first floor room but they asked if i would like to
upgrade to a room with a loft for $15 so we did. Nice view and a full
kitchen...great for staying longer periods as it is central to everything. Clean
and comfortable. Able to do laundry on site. Great hot tub and sauna room.
Only drawbacks were only 2 pillows (although I am sure I could have asked for
more) and parking was $9. If you pay for a room parking should be included as
far as I am concerned.

For my "70th" birthday, I decided to try the Huntindon Hotel in Victoria & have
my Birthday Dinner at "Gatsby's Restaurant". Well, I've never experienced such a
"Caring", "Respectful", "Professional", "Loving", "Knowledgeable" group of a
"Five Star" hotel and Restaurant in my entire life! Due to over 55 years of
smoking and finally quit three months ago, I have C.O.P.D. & Emphysema,
diseases, and my Breathing isn't so great. The staff at both establishments
"Went out of their way", to make my stay as "Comfortable" as possible. I've
never been treated with so much Loving & Caring at any other Hotel or
Restaurant. The staff at the "Gatsby's" restaurant, even gave me a delicious
"Birthday" dessert "On the house" for my birthday. I was totally Spoiled, by all
the staff. The front desk Manager, even parked my car in their underground
parking and when I checked out, also went and brought my car to the lobby, where
they had already placed all my luggage, which they placed into my car. All I had
to do was "Rest" & "Enjoy".
It was a very Exquisite and most memorable experience. I'm going back for sure!
Thank you everyone.
I could go on and on, but to anyone looking for a "Special" and

Hotel for the Victoria Marathon
Very nice hotel near the Inner Harbour. A great place to stay if you are coming
in for the Victoria Marathon. It is only 1 block away from the starting line and
a couple blocks from the finish line and the expo. I will stay here again.

Great Location
We were dependent on bus transportation, from the ferry arrival in Sidney, to
Butchart Gardens, and then Victoria. We were not aware of the bus destinations
in Victoria, so were thrilled to arrive in Victoria, close to the Empress and
the Parliament Buildings, and our hotel. Great location. We found our hotel,
walked along the boardwalk, and had a great dinner, all within walking distance
to the hotel. Perfect, especially for the price. Jason, staff member, was
accommodating for our corkscrew request.

Not bad....but not great either
The rooms are outdated in decor and the walls are paper thin (really thin
paper). You could hear everything that was happening in the room next to you
from opening the closet, a cough, conversation, a baby crying.....can’t hide
anything. Outside of these two things, it’s a good location, staff are friendly,
it was clean...I would return for another stay as the price is reasonable!

Three night stay.
Was very happy with overall experience. Walked everywhere from the hotel, no
need for transportation to Empress or Museum as they are a few blocks away. It
was quiet, and staff were pleasant and helpful. Felt safe walking around the
area at night . Would stay again. |
