Review of the Quality Inn Downtown Victoria

We're currently staying at the Quality Inn Victoria Downtown and so far have no
complaints. The location is great. We're within walking distance of Beacon Hill
Park and a few blocks from Government Street (the main tourist street in
Victoria). There's a really nice patio/square in the middle of the building
that's great sit out in and it's protected from the wind. Only complaint is that
you have to pay extra to use the dishes in the kitchenette of the suite.

We booked this hotel based on the previous reviews on Trip Advisor. All reviews
are pretty much spot-on. We did like the location, but there were a few
problems. The rooms do not have A/C; so if you get on the street side with
noise, you cannot keep your window open at night. The front desk
afternoon/evening staff was just mediocre. I requested a quiet room and got a
room over the pub and parking garage gate! There were other rooms available; the
staff had an attitude. The morning staff agreed to make some adjustments.
The location of this hotel is very convenient. Remember that you must pay for
parking, but it is secure. I would only recommend this hotel choice with
reservations regarding what you are getting. If you are a heavy sleeper and your
body temp is naturally cold, and you are on a budget then this is a good choice.
The room internet is slow, but the lobby system is great.

I stayed here with family for a couple of days. The location is central, walk
able to most places most people would want to go. However it tended to be noisy,
there were a few clubs nearby and a few drunk people around, some staying in the
hotel. I would have felt less comfortable here if I had been staying on my own,
especially on a weekend. The staff were ok but not wonderful. The facilities
were generally fine but overall I wasn't a big fan of this hotel. However it was
clean and a good place to stay, just not my favourite. I had a problem one night
as there were drunk and loud people staying in a room nearby who were shouting
and making noise in the corridor in the middle of the night, so my sleep was
disturbed and it is a little intimidating. However this may have been a one off
- but the location and a few other guests I met suggested to me that it is a
good place to stay after a party perhaps... No breakfast included. But a good
breakfast place next door.

Reserved hotel thru here day before stay and with my AAA discount got a great
rate for the large double queen room with jetted bathtub. Small hotel right in
the heart of down town - within walking distance to most of the museums and
large shopping mall. Free wireless internet and lobby had a computer and
printer. No A/C - might get stuffy in summer. Small pool and quiet restaurant in
same building along with parking garage - probably for a fee, but we came by
Victoria Clipper. BigBus stopped in front, but actual stop might be half block
away - but temporary road construction might have diverted it to front of our
hotel - neat! Small, friendly staff - allowed to check-in early at noon! Trip to
Butchardt Gardens a must - especially in April thru Summer - gorgeous flowers
and sunken garden!

I stayed for one night in the month of April 2010 in this downtown hotel with my
husband and 3 year old daughter. The rate for one night was $74(includes $6CAD
parking fee) . I reached the hotel by 12 noon and enquired whether I could check
in early. The front desk guy was very helpful and helped us check in early. We
booked a room with 2 queen beds. The room was clean, came with a mini fridge and
a CRT TV (wish they had flat screens). The bathroom had a granite counter top.
The staff was very helpful and even arranged a microwave in our room. There was
a pool though we did not try it. The parking was secure and it was underground.
I wish they provided complimentary breakfast. Over all we had a pleasant stay.
Would definitely recommend this hotel

My husband and I travel to Victoria a couple times a year, and we always book a
suite with a kitchenette so we can eat in most of the time. This trip, we stayed
in room 110 for 5 nights and loved everything about it.
There were a couple of maintenance issues that we brought to the attention of
the management. They were rectified immediately by Dan, the maintenance man who
is also a wealth of information about local restaurants.
This unit was recently remodelled and is very modern. The kitchenette included
everything we needed. The bedroom could have been a bit larger, but the king
size bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a jetted tub which my husband loved!
There are two TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. No flat
screens, but apparently they are coming soon.
The staff was accommodating in every way. We got a rate of $89/night booking
directly with the hotel, and this rate included a full hot breakfast each
morning in the hotel's restaurant.
We did not try the pool, but it looked clean and inviting, although not large.
There is a small exercise room which I did try. It was certainly adequate for
me, though it might not be for a "hard core" exercise buff.
The location is a bit off the beaten path and up a hill that can be avoided by
choosing the right streets for walking. It is a short walk to the inner harbour.
We found the location very convenient for shopping and sightseeing.
If you are staying for more than one night, ask for room 110. It's worth paying
a bit more. We came by ferry and didn't have a car, but there is a garage on the
ground floor.

The rooms were very clean and newly decorated. We had a kitchen suite with huge
Jacuzzi bath, king bed and pull-out sofa. Secure parking and when we arrived
with our travel trailer, the staff made arrangements for us to leave it at their
sister property for 2 days. They have a small pub with great food and a free
cooked breakfast. The location is close to everything downtown and walking
distance to the inner harbour. We were given a great rate and the customer
service from all the staff was excellent.
We will return to this hotel for our next trip.

I was so impressed by this quality inn! The rooms were up to date, had granite
counter tops in the bathroom and marble, came with mini fridge, good size TV,
and just a couple of couple from the harbor! This place had great low rates and
I would stay here again!
