Good location, very clean, family and dog-friendly; information and service needed was provided but they could have been a little friendlier (my only criticism) but I would go back there again because of the location and it was very clean. The bed was too soft and apparently there wasn’t a choice of a firm bed. The room was pretty small for the price.

Very average for the price, Location farther from downtown than we anticipated but ample free parking a plus. Has an indoor pool with spa tub, an exercise room, and a self-service business center with high-speed Internet access. Quite close to a large mall if shopping is an interest.

Was on a part business, part leisure trip and stayed for 3 nights in a very nice suite with kitchen and sitting area. I was near the bar/restaurant and would imagine had the windows been open it might have been a bit noisy, but can't say it actually bothered me much given I'm usually up until the wee hours anyway. No complaints at all about the room except out of the 3 nights the internet connections (both wireless and cable) only worked the first day for a while. I needed that Internet working but to no avail.

The various desk staff I spoke with throughout my visit told me there was no internet was because the hotel just received a lot of guests (and I did manage to get a connection again about 2 AM the first night), the next day I was told it was because they were having technical issues with their server and it wouldn't be fixed for a day or two. Not much of a help to me so I had to check out even though I wanted to stay a couple of more days. I just had no faith they would get the Internet connections working after it being unreliable for 3 days already.

To be somewhat fair I will say they did offer to let me use their office connection, but since I had my dog with me, that arrangement wasn't too helpful as she would have been a distraction as people came and went in the lobby.

This was also the only hotel of many I stayed in this trip (2 weeks of hotels) that charged me long distance charges for calling toll free numbers. Even though I had specifically asked prior to calling any 800 numbers, at check out they would not bend and I had to pay for the calls.

So, hotel itself was clean and nice to stay in and located outside of downtown but still central, but not having that Internet for nearly the whole 3 days and being charged for long distance put a damper on it. I'm afraid not having Internet is the deal breaker for me.

I have been there 4 times for work, stayed for 2 weeks once, 1 week the other times.
The rooms are clean and normal. No good views, It's in a business area not near the waterfront so 15 minutes walk or a 5 minute bus ride - they have double-decker buses and they stop right outside the hotel, $2.25.
Great place to stay if you brought a car, secure underground parking, easy to find your way back to. There is a sports bar attached that has average food and service, lots of TVs, but all the good spots to eat or drink are downtown.

The Sandman Hotel in Victoria was clean and easy to find. When we arrived it was late at night and the front desk person was not at his post when we arrived. We had to wait 15 minutes before he returned. There was no indication of where he/she was and when to expect him to return. Upon his return, he was very friendly to myself and daughter and was most efficient in our check-in process. We were upgraded and hotel check out was just as efficient. The only real draw back was upon our arrival, the parking lot was full finding parking was not easy.

Our stay at the Victoria Sandman hotel was the last stop on our get away. The Sandman was a bit of a disappointment. Not to say there was anything wrong with it, but since it was the most expensive we expected more. If you are looking for a clean hotel near downtown with free secure parking this is your place.

The room itself was clean and comfortable but looked on to the back alley and the backs of shops etc. It was a 20 min walk into the town itself which felt even longer on a night. Great stay, came from Toronto and wanted to have a solid budget hotel. This exceeded our expectation! People were friendly, rooms were spacious and clean, seemed to be well kept, I recommend it!

I loved this hotel. We spent two wonderful nights here.
The room was big and very clean. The cleaning staff did a great job. In the room, we had a kitchenette and a small living room area with a couch and a TV. It was very comfortable.
The pool is large and clean and the water was just warm enough.
The hotel itself is just far enough from downtown Victoria to be relaxing and still close enough to enjoy the sights of the city.

I reserved a room, and was told it was the last room available, but not that it was a smoking room.. Needless to say it was not a good stay and i had to air out the luggage when I got home. The lounge/restaurant is very busy at night. A perfect spot to have a lively meal.

I came to this hotel with my family last week. The hotel itself is clean, inviting and has been fairly recently decorated. The rooms were also all spacious and clean, with TV, coffee maker etc. The pool and Jacuzzi were nice too. We had breakfast at the hotel every day and it was good value for money and tasty, with good service. The only downside for my family and I was the hotel location. It was about a 20 minute walk from the start of the shopping/sightseeing part of Victoria, which isn't too far, but I travelled with some elderly family who found this a little far to stroll to town! Taxis weren't too expensive to/from hotel though, costing about 6.50. Internet access and parking available.
