A little out of the way
We chose this hotel because of the cheap nightly rate. It is a little ways from
downtown, but there is a bus stop across from the hotel and if you leave the
hotel in the morning not expecting to return until later, it’s not a big
problem. If you want to go back to the hotel during the day, it could get
annoying. If you take the bus and you need to change buses to get to your
destination, make sure you get a transfer ticket when you pay so you do not have
to pay for the next bus within 60 minutes. Another note is when the bus (the 22
at least) gets to the bus stop by McDonalds, that is your exit point for
downtown area. It’s a short walk further down to get to everything. There is a
liquor store beside the hotel, but we honestly never would have known it was
there if we had not seen it. The bar area in the hotel has been closed for the
past year so no worries about that. The carpet is a little worn in the rooms,
but that did not bother us too much. Breakfast is your typical complimentary
breakfast with cereal, oatmeal packets, bagels, and a small selection of
pastries, but it’s better than having to go out for breakfast somewhere.

Satisfied with the stay.
The break fast was good. Kitchenette did not have the stove, so it did not meet
our needs. We could not get the two rooms together. One of the room faced the
busy street. Hence, it was a bit noisy. Overall, the experience was good. Staff
was helpful.

Nice Super 8, noisy room
The room was clean and tidy (with multiple electrical outlets which is can be
very rare in rooms. The downside was that the room faced west (on the 2nd floor)
where Douglas Street and Burnside Drive intersect so there was steady din of
car, truck and bus noises. The air conditioner/heater was a window unit that was
really loud. So combined it was a very very noisy room. We did not complain
however because we were so late (and tired) plus we did not come to Victoria for
the lodging. In a nutshell we survived a noisy hotel room. The continental
breakfast was not worth the extra cost. There is a restaurant across the street
and a McDonalds further down too. Anyone else staying here, as for a higher
floor on the north or east side.

This is obviously not a luxury hotel. The amenities are few. It is not very
handicapped friendly. (no elevator) They did get me a room on the first floor
when they realized I could not climb the stairs. We went to Victoria to see the
Butchart Gardens and other attractions. We did not expect to spend mush time the
hotel. It was certainly adequate for our needs. The room was clean and
comfortable. We had a TV, fridge and microwave. Their Continental Breakfast was
just muffins and cookies, so that fell a little short of our expectations, but
all-in-all we were very satisfied.

Average hotel for short stay, average food and hospitality
The place is clean and prices are excellent. There is a lot of competition in
the area. This place stands out mainly for the cleanliness. Also, we feel
secure. Guests and visitors must pass through the front desk and lobby area and
be scrutinized by the clerk.

really enjoyed my stay at the Super 8. The hotel staff was really friendly and
the cleaning staff courteous and thorough. The hotel room was nicely decorated
and very clean. The continental breakfast was convenient and well stocked with
goodies-Danishes, donuts, croissants, muffins,...as well as with fresh fruit and
cereal. My biggest complaint was about the complimentary computer. It was
located in the breakfast room so the computer keyboard was a bit sticky from
people eating at the desk. Also the computer was not hooked up to a printer
which would have been a nice bonus (for flight check-in, in my case.) Otherwise
Super 8 is a great place to stay in Victoria. It isn’t downtown but really easy
to get to and also to get to inner harbour area-easy drive to get to public
parkade. I would be happy to stay at Super 8 again and again. No pool but I was
too busy to bother if they had one. I highly recommend the Super 8, Victoria!

The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful and cheerful. Night staff
were less than friendly. The breakfasts were extra special. The bathroom smelled
like dirty washcloths-that was bad. A bus stop was close by which made getting
to the city easy and economical.

The hotel is clean and reasonably priced. The breakfast was quite good,
especially the bran muffins. Room was clean and comfortable although small. Our
only issue was that the air conditioner did not work and was not repaired in the
two nights we were there although it was supposed to be "looked at". Opening the
window helped with stuffiness. We were not offered another room and did not
demand one.

I have stayed in this hotel before, so I knew what to expect. It has clean rooms
and friendly front desk stuff. On my first stay, they did not have complementary
breakfasts, but on this stay they "sort of" did. The selection was poor and the
breakfast room was overcrowded. I ended up not taking anything form there and
went to nearby Starbucks instead. Not a big loss since very few Canadian hotels
offer free breakfasts anyway. This hotel is located about 5-7 minutes from the
city centre by car and about 20-25 minutes by foot. Overall, I am satisfied and
recommend it to anyone who want comfort for a reasonable price.

Everything was clean & worked; the only downer was that the bar & nightclub
spaces were inactive - but there's a great (& cheap by Canadian standards)
liquor store on the backside by the delivery entrance. Warning - if you're
driving southward to it, there's no direct left turn into the parking lot &
there's a left turn lane by it on the northbound side of the street that you
could easily drive into, as there's no "DO NOT ENTER" sign facing southbound
traffic.
