We have returned to this hotel 3 X. Twice in HARBOUR VIEW SUITES which are
large, clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was included in the price of our
stay even though there is a full kitchen in the suite. Nice touch! There was
also a balcony overlooking the harbour.
You must avoid rooms which face the street if you are going to enjoy your stay
here. We learned the hard way during our first visit. Loud clientele from the
establishments across the street and noise went on all night long.
Overall, we really like this hotel and the HARBOUR VIEW SUITE .The Victoria
Regent is good value in a great downtown location. The staff is friendly and
helpful.

Best Hotel in Victoria.+
This hotel was great. Large comfortable room. We arrived early in the morning
not expecting to check in until later that afternoon, we just wanted to leave
our bags, but they allowed us to check in anyways. It was a little hotel with
the service of a Ritz Carlton. We will definitely stay there on our next rip to
Victoria.

Italy at Home
I would return to the same hotel again. Every thing was perfect- even the
weather.

Well located in Victoria and within walking distance of many attractions and
shops
Great location in Victoria, however our room faced toward Wharf Street (lots of
traffic noise), maybe that was why there was ear plugs provided with the
toiletries !! Fairly good selection for breakfast, and the restaurant was well
located with great views over the Inner Harbour. The underground parking is very
limited

Will definitely use this hotel again!
Excellent view from balcony!! Grounds are well kept. Kitchen had everything we
needed. Plenty of room in two bedroom suite. Very convenient to have a
continental breakfast ready for you each morning (which you can have delivered
to room if you choose). Had a great experience and can’t wait to go back. Great
home to stay at when away from home.

On a recent business trip trip to Victoria I stayed at the Victoria Regent as
the hotel I normally stay at was full. The check-in clerk(s) where very confused
at to my room number. Both ended going up twice to the actual room to see if in
fact the room was actually empty! The parking area to check-in is on the street
and once you do finally get check-in you have drive around a number of city
blocks to enter the underground parking lot. As I use to live in Victoria it was
no problem for me, but I would think tourists unfamiliar with Victoria would
find it somewhat confusing. Do not recommend.

Hard to find a nicer facility anywhere
The unit was very clean, as we would expect, and very well equipped. The free
breakfast was buffet style but well stocked with convenient hours and friendly
staff on hand. The location was close to many restaurants and within walking
distance to many local points of interest. This is a very quiet and comfortable
facility with a friendly staff

Wonderful hotel, awful room location
Victoria Regent is a terrific hotel with a wonderful rooms. Very good location
to see all the sites in Victoria. Very large nice suites, great kitchen with all
you need. Very clean and great service. Free parking and breakfast is a nice
bonus. However this was our first time using Expedia and I expected we would not
get a great room for such a large discount but I did not know any hotel had such
a terrible room location. The description said "partial view" so we understood
we would not be on the water. However I have learned to ask about the other part
of the view . The other part of the view is a very close brick wall and a park
frequented by what appears to be homeless people. They use the bushes for a
bathroom often. We did see a little of the water as promised but the bedroom was
directly over the entrance to the parking area. We heard cars, trucks entering
the parking area all night. If we ever go back to Victoria I would stay here
again but pay the higher price for a better room location. Expedia I would not
use again after such a bad first experience.

More than expected or needed
The hotel was on the water, the suite was huge and clean and wonderfully located
for running out to dinner or shopping. The staff was great, the breakfast free.
The rates were a fall special and were less expensive than other hotels that
surrounded the area in Victoria

Victoria Regency
Really nice staff, young, very helpful. Delicious breakfast in the morning,
saves a ton of hassle. Our view room was of an alley, but we didn’t care because
we were out until dusk anyway. I would go back just for the breakfast! Soft
pillows, clean sheets--not bad at all. We rented bikes around the corner for $25
a day and loaded up on breakfast, which lasted until at least 2pm ( lots of
carbs). We found we only had to eat out in the evenings. Rooms have a fridge, so
you can buy fruits and snacks for when you get peckish

We had a great suite at this hotel with part harbor view, but it was definitely
too expensive, over $300 a night including all the lovely Canadian taxes.
Initially, we weren't too happy with the service at the hotel - to say the
least. When we asked if we could get soy or rice milk for breakfast, we were
told we would have to buy that ourselves. When I asked kindly if they could
clean our room Sunday morning, they let us know we would have to wait till the
departure rooms had been cleaned first.
Err, right. We're paying 300 dollars a night, and you have to fight to have your
room cleaned at 10 am? Or get your own soy milk at the grocery across the
bridge?
I was about to give this hotel 1 star for service, but the Regency totally
redeemed themselves the last night we were there. When there was heavy
construction going on in the room above us, they actually moved us to their
three bedroom suite which I would recommend to any restless millionaire (or any
family of three).
Wow, what a place. That was worth the whole stay and showed us that the hotel
actually cares about their guests.
So now they have two friends for life. If only that noisy construction had
started a little earlier ...
Yes, we would stay there again, even though it's stressful to spend the night in
a three bed suite. So many beds, so little time!. |
