Guest Review of the Brentwood Bay Lodge & Spa in Victoria BC

Met one of the owners on the last night. She was just as warm and dedicated
as anyone working there. It was about 11pm, and she was just leaving for the
day, yet took the time to ask us what we thought of her establishment. She
seemed very happy we had such good things to say. We didn't encounter ONE
person who worked there that wasn't happy and welcoming. As experienced
travelers, my husband and I were impressed with everyone AND the place
itself. Remarkable architecture and thought put into every detail. We
recommend this place to anyone. But I think you should leave the kids at
home. Not much of a family establishment. Definitely for adults who want to
rest and be pampered.

My husband and I stayed here during our weeklong honeymoon in
Victoria/Vancouver. The hotel is beautiful and quaint, with nice staff and
amazing views of Brentwood Bay. The best part of this hotel were the free
movies in the lobby (it rained 2 days we were here), the kayak rentals (saw
many jellyfish!), the couples massages we had in the spa and the pub food.
The downfall of this stay was our dinner in the Seagrille. It was such a
beautiful place to eat, but unfortunately the food wasn't "that great".
Also, there were fruit flies swarming our food and wine. They did take my
glass of wine off the bill, but it was still a disappointment. We loved our
stay here, but felt it was overly expensive.

My husband and I have just returned from a quick weekend getaway at the
Brentwood Resort on Brentwood Bay by Victoria, B.C. This place was referred
to us by a friend who just absolutely love it there. All I could say, the
place was very "zen". The hotel is built and decorated in a very
contemporary "arts and craft" style. Rooms were big, bathrooms were modern
with the Jacuzzi tub. Beds were very comfortable. The hotel staff were
amazing - friendly and helpful and professional. Our room had a balcony with
beautiful ocean views. The restaurants at the hotel were very good - all 3
of them. The sushi was by far the best we have tasted - everything was very
fresh. The sushi chef we were told used to work at a Four Seasons. The fine
dining was also very good using local organic ingredients and an amazing
wine menu. Must try their eggs Benedict at breakfast - amazing and also
their seafood chowder with fresh seafood. The spa facility was also very
good - the girls were very professional and they use natural products. The
only thing was the workout room which is in a little room on the marina is
very small, but there are a lot of walks and running trails all close to the
hotel and a lot of other outdoor activities (canoeing, kayaking, scuba
diving) at your doorstep. We heard from the owner that the hotel is planning
to put in a larger fitness area and yoga studio in a new building across
from the hotel in 2012. Overall, it was a great place to unwind after the
busy holiday and a place to reconnect as a couple. We had an absolutely
amazing stay there and we definitely be going back.

This is the third time we have been guests at this hotel. We enjoy the
architecture, interior design, and the natural landscape which surrounds
this boutique hotel. The room is luxuriously comfortable and quiet. The
staff is responsive and pleasant. It is situated in a small village on the
waterfront and Sidney and
Victoria are accessible within 15 minutes' drive. WE have
looked forward to dining in their Sea Grille restaurant each year; however,
for the first time this year, the service and quality of food were
disappointing.

WOW, was this a nice place to stay! We only had one night on the island and
the weather was horrible but it was wonderful to hunker down in the
luxurious room and soak in the jetted tub and curl up by the fireplace. We
didn't have the traffic jams others mentioned, but I can see how it could
get really ugly during high tourism moths. The restaurant was adequate, I
wouldn't say it was a great as the hotel.
