Hotel review of the Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites

We stayed her for two nights as part of a Victoria Clipper package. The hotel is
beautiful, with mirrored ceilings, pleasant staff, clean pool and comfortable
beds. We had a one bedroom suite with a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen bed
and a couch in the living room. The hotel is an easy walking distance to the
waterfront and Chinatown. The pool goes from 5' to 9' deep, which was fine for
my kids (ages 7 and 9) but might bother some younger kids. The free wi-fi was
strong in our 6th floor room.

I have stayed here a number of times over the past 10 years. It consistently has
good service, clean rooms and good value. There is a variety of rooms that can
booked and this time we stayed in a King Suite, which has a king bed in the
bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. As mentioned, the door is a french
glass door, so if you want more privacy, get a queen suite. I believe (not
totally sure) that there is an actual door between the bedroom and the other
queen bed in the living room. We were aware of this, so absolutely no problem.
Great room on the 9th floor in a corner, so looked out to the Marriott, some
condos, the Fairmont, distant view to the harbour. It was nice to be able to
open the window both in the bedroom and the living room (sliding glass door to a
balcony) to have fresh air. Sure there is some nose in the morning, but what
would you expect in a city.
The rooms were clean, good quality towels and plenty of amenities. I would liked
to have had a bit of a better quality sheet, but guess I don't need to be a
princess all of the time. Room we were in had a microwave and mini fridge, and
sink in kitchenette area.
The hotel is in a great location to walk anywhere in town.
View from Vista 18 (restaurant upstairs) is fantastic. Only had a drink up
there, so can't comment on the food.
Small exercise room and a bare bones hot tub/pool area. If this is a priority,
perhaps not the hotel for you.
I recommend this hotel for a variety of travelers.

What a room! Clean, roomy and up to date. Having 2 comfortable queen size beds
was great. Even better was having one of them in a separate bed room. The staff
was extremely helpful in every aspect needed. When asking the door man
directions we were promptly offered a ride in their van to and from the
location.
Loved that they allowed pets. Even had a "doggie" treat bag.
The down town location made getting around on foot easy, even for those who
might not be into walking.
Definitely a Hotel I look forward to going back to.

From a warm welcome to a sincere "we will see you again", we enjoyed the
courtesy and friendliness of a happy staff. Our suite was spacious, comfortable
and warm. We enjoyed most meals at their top restaurant and their lounge off the
lobby, as we were snowed in. The magic winter wonderland, excellent service and
in-room spa service just added to a wonderful anniversary stay!

Be prepared to be welcomed and treated with respect and dignity from all staff.
We had some special needs that were taken care of quickly. Our room was lovely ,
food and service were top rated. This truly was a home away from home. (if only
home was really like that!) The staff were very honest and helpful. There was no
pressure amongst the staff which made a relaxing atmosphere. We were able to
enjoy a "special" which included our breakfast. Who doesn't like to get a deal?
We would recommend this hotel for all ages and abilities. Thank you again.
