I didn’t like that the goose down pillows to sleep on.

Not impressed
The hotel was okay. We did get a good price - but felt a little like we were in
stearage. Room service books were in our room - but when we tried to order we
were told that only the Gatsby part of the hotel could get room service. We did
not locate our frig until the last day - it was in the Armoire. Our room was
cleaned daily - but on the second day we got no clean towels ( even though our
dirty ones were picked up) the toilet paper was not refilled nor was the
Kleenex. The next morning we spotted the laundry cart and got what we needed. We
stayed 3 nights. It was hard not to notice that the carpet was well worn. Better
pillows would have been a big plus as well.

We stayed here for 3 nights and wish we had stayed here the 4th (instead of the
Fairmont Empress). Family friendly place. Close to Victoria Clipper terminal. A
little dated, but overall a good place to stay at a great price.

My wife and I had lunch in your restaurant that is through the hotel lobby of
Huntingdon on Friday, 9/24. It was quite good. What was really excellent was the
service provided by Emilien. In fact we were so impressed we decided to come
back for breakfast on Saturday and luckily we had Emilien serve us again.
The best news I think from your perspective, we were staying across the street
at your competitor. If we get a chance to return to Victoria, BC (we're from
Dallas, TX) we are planning to stay at the Huntingdon Suites or perhaps the
Gatsby.

Just couldn't get over the feeling that this hotel hasn't really been cared for.
Bathroom was clean enough, but the lamps over the beds were covered in dust, and
overall the room was pretty dingy. Over one bed, the light fixture didn't work
unless you twisted the bulb in and out of the socket instead of using the
switch. When brought these issues to the attention of the front desk, we told
they would advise maintenance and housekeeping, but were offered no apology.

We received a compensatory gift voucher to stay at this hotel following a
disappointing stay at the adjoining Gatsby Mansion last year. Well all I can say
is that things have not improved since our last stay and the hotel complex
remains shabby and unkempt. We stayed in one of the suite rooms - it had a great
view of the harbour but the room was in dire need of renovation. The wallpaper
in the bathroom was patched, the carpet was stained and dirty and the
furnishings old and outdated. This combined with the musty odour in the
corridors did not make for a relaxing night in this beautiful city. However,
despite the down points I will say that on the whole the staff in the hotel are
pleasant and friendly and did try their best.

I was so sorry to hear that you were not pleased with our hotel. Due to the
recession, like most hotels we are not able to fully renovate our property all
at once. However, we take a portion of rooms each year, re stain the furniture,
replace carpeting where necessary, paint walls, etc. It's always in the guests
best interest to let the hotel desk know during your stay that you are not
happy, thereby letting us show you alternate rooms. However, we hope you enjoyed
your stay in Victoria.

Recently on a business trip to Victoria, I stayed at this hotel for almost one
week. I found the staff very accommodating, the hotel was the cleanest on my
trip, the food was excellent and the location was tops. The hotel is directly
across the street from the US ferries and is very convenient to downtown. i
would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying there whenever I go to
Victoria.
