Review of the Super 8 Victoria

This was the best deal I’ve ever gotten on a hotel! The rooms are renovated but
not incredibly fancy. The staff was excellent (especially Hugh). There was a
problem with the TV and they moved us to another room immediately (and even
helped with the bags). The hotel was quiet, the continental breakfast was good,
and you can get anywhere in the city fast on the bus system. I highly recommend
this hotel.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. Hugh was on hotel reception that
evening...he was professional yet had a friendly demeanor. When we asked for
another set of towels he brought them to our room in good time. Very good
experience with the staff in general. The room was clean, tidy and, air
conditioned. Beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was also very clean.
Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Victoria as the hotel is on the
main street leading into downtown and the harbour where all the wonderful sights
are. Do keep your eyes open as the turnoff for the hotel is not signposted.
Parking was good.

We booked our stay at the Super 8 on Douglas Street in Victoria, knowing nothing
about where it was located or where exactly we would be visiting and it turned
out to be perfect. The hotel was located in the center of our activities, easy
to locate, somewhat difficult to access. The staff was extremely friendly,
greeted me by first name upon my return to the hotel from dinner across town.
The Continental Breakfast was extremely lavish with lots of choices, including
fruit, danishes, toast, cereal (hot and cold), tea, coffee, juices, etc. Our
room was very clean, but the view outside our window was less than exciting,
although it did look out over the parking lot. The prices were reasonable and in
view of other choices I had previously reviewed, they were very good. Should we
ever be in Victoria again, we would certainly stay at this hotel.

Staff was friendly and courteous. I found this hotel to be easy to find in a
great location. The hotel has tons of free parking and also has many amenities
i.e. a bar, a pub, a restaurant and a liquor store. I would recommend this hotel
to anyone who is looking for a quality hotel.

Liquour store within the hotel was convenient. Bathrooms are too small. The
front desk staff was very understanding when we were faced with a CC with not
enough room to put a $200 deposit on the card. The chambermaids are a little
over zealous and came in to clean the room at 9am the next morning while we were
still all crashed and didn't knock before entering? That is a first. Overall is
wasn't too bad of an experience and having lived in Victoria we basically knew
what we were in for when we rented the room. It was a girls weekend in Victoria
and basically wanted the room to crash for the night.

Super 8 needs to be inspecting their properties !!.... upon checkin, the front
desk went to make sure the room was ready .. OK, strange. Came back 10 mins
later (not sure where he went) said the a/c was not working !! Well it will have
to do as they had no other rooms avail. The room was not very clean - chips on
the carpet and in the tv stand, and garbage in the can in the washroom !!!!
checked the beds right away but the sheets were clean.
Breakfast incl but by 8a.m. you could not move in there or get a seat - pretty
simple - don't think I could recommend this hotel to anyone !!
they claim it's within walking distance to downtown ... I am a walker and it was
a long walk !! Plus no one else out walking ... strange again.

really enjoyed my stay at the Super 8. The hotel staff was really friendly and
the cleaning staff courteous and thorough. The hotel room was nicely decorated
and very clean. The continental breakfast was convenient and well stocked with
goodies-Danishes, donuts, croissants, muffins,...as well as with fresh fruit and
cereal. My biggest complaint was about the complimentary computer. It was
located in the breakfast room so the computer keyboard was a bit sticky from
people eating at the desk. Also the computer was not hooked up to a printer
which would have been a nice bonus (for flight check-in, in my case.) Otherwise
Super 8 is a great place to stay in Victoria. It isn’t downtown but really easy
to get to and also to get to inner harbour area-easy drive to get to public
parkade. I would be happy to stay at Super 8 again and again. No pool but I was
too busy to bother if they had one. I highly recommend the Super 8, Victoria!

I wasn’t expecting much from the Super 8 Hotel, given that it was rated two
stars and was the cheapest lodging in Victoria, but I was very pleasantly
surprised by the stay. The staff were courteous, the room was large and clean,
and there was a great diner, restaurant and liquor store all attached to the
building. Only 5 mins from downtown too - I’ll be making sure to stay here
again. Just goes to show that cheap doesn’t always mean "cheap."

The rooms were small but the continental breakfast was really good I will go
back
I was greeted with a warm welcome. They have the smallest elevator I have ever
seen it barely fit my stroller. The room was small too. I was disappointed there
was no balcony. But overall the service was great and the breakfast was awesome
I will return.Review of the Super 8 Hotel Victoria

Travelling on a budget, we chose this hotel as offering reasonable rates, but
still being a well-known name. The location was easy to find from the airport,
and was only minutes away from downtown. Large parking area, pub on site and
family restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were large and clean. Staff
were friendly. We were very impressed by the complimentary ’continental’
breakfast, which was buffet-style and included muffins, bagels, toast, fresh
fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, tea

Not a prime location for night life or sight seeing but nice, clean and quiet
for the price. Free Continental breakfast was surprisingly good.
Parents - take your kids to the Underwater Sea World (5 minutes from this hotel)
and the Bug Zoo (downtown). They’ll love both. Sea World is self-guided,
although they do have set times for diving displays, etc. The Bug Zoo is a
guided, interactive tour of the bug world, which will take about an hour.
