We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, which appeared to be an apartment with a living
room, full kitchen, and 2 large bedrooms. This would have been perfect for 2
couples traveling together because the set-up provided optimal privacy for each
bedroom. Our room overlooked the harbor. It was a bit pricey for the age of the
hotel, but we got the AAA rate...which I thought was a good deal before they
added almost $60 in taxes to the per night rate. The room was clean and we had
everything we needed. We stayed 3 nights. The location is great--within walking
distance to everything. They offer a continental breakfast buffet each morning
that was perfect for us. I would stay here again.

This is the 2nd time we stayed at the VR and with four adults and one child,
this was a perfect location. We stayed for a week, which was a better deal. Able
to walk everywhere downtown including across the Johnson Bridge to the Vic West
side (Delta). 1st floor, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite which suited us just fine.
No elevator and just steps away from front door and the breakfast room. Noise
not a problem except for a loud party upstairs of us who used their balcony to
yell at passersby. A word with the front desk stopped that almost immediately.
Wi-Fi, three TVs, full kitchen and dining area was really good. We ate out every
lunch and cooked or brought food in every evening meal.

My only complaint would be that the parking is tight, especially for a rental
van. As well, I could see in the hot summer with no A/C, leaving windows is a
problem when the float planes take off and land. The exhaust fumes are pretty
heavy and I could see it being noisy. While unusual to have warmer than 22
degrees C even in the summer, it has been known to happen.
Still, if comfort, cost and location is important, can't beat this hotel.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. There were a group of eight
of us that flew to Victoria for a short holiday. We did not rent a vehicle and
found this hotel to be in an excellent location right on the harbour. We could
pretty much walk wherever we needed to go with the exception of the gardens.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, hotel was clean and extremely comfortable.
We had suites overlooking the harbour. Beautiful!! The continental breakfast was
always great and well stocked. Can’t wait to go back

Very comfortable and well located hotel
We loved the location of the hotel and our room ( a one bedroom Harborview
suite) was terrific. Very spacious and one of the most comfortable beds we’ve
ever had at a hotel. The views were great too. Easy to walk to everything. Lots
of good restaurants nearby. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel. The
only negative was the front desk staff were not very friendly, except for one
very nice young woman who was most helpful. Be aware that the complimentary
breakfast expects you to tip the servers who man the restaurant. I don’t call
that complimentary!

Party in the streets
The quality and location of the hotel are very good. Be forewarned that on nice
nights, Victorians party in the streets until 3 a.m. Rooms facing the street are
subject to a lot of noise. The continental breakfast is good, the ambiance of
the breakfast is excellent as you have great views of Victoria Harbor.

loved loved loved it....
fabulous place to stay. Close to everything. Beautiful extremely large room with
a wonderful view. We were thinking of staying at the Empress but after seeing
their tiny rooms we chose the Regents stunning huge room with breakfast included
(delivered to our room) We had a full kitchen, large living room, dining room,
and separate bedroom. All beautifully furnished. We felt totally taken care of.

What a view! We stayed in a two bedroom suite with our two daughters and the
stay was wonderful. The room was clean and quiet. The view of the harbour is
spectacular. Watched the Ferry come and go, planes land and take off, tour boats
crawling along as well as many tourists and locals mingling around the area. The
staff was very accommodating and we enjoyed the great breakfasts in the scenic
continental room. Only one small note- our two bedroom suite didn’t have an AC
unit. It was cool enough during our stay that it wasn’t an issue but you may
want to check with the management if you plan on going during the summer months.
Not sure which rooms do or don’t have AC units. Other than that, we’d go back in
a heartbeat.

We had not just a room, a partial Harborview suite. It was beautifully
appointed, clean, lots of space, quiet and felt like home. We don’t usually
partake of continental-style breakfasts, which are often underwhelming, but this
was a notable exception. First of all, the cafe had a lovely view of the
harbour, and the staff, while minimal, were friendly. The baked goods were fresh
and delicious, with lots of choice, and the other options appealing, although
they didn’t change much from day to day.

This was an extraordinarily fine hotel for the price. One of the bet rooms we’ve
ever stayed in. As good as a Hilton at almost half the price. Excellent location
on the waterfront downtown. You can walk from here to everything worth
seeing--except Butchart Gardens, which are 45 minutes north of town.
