Accommodations for Business, Solo travel This motel is
within view of The Gorge, the inner part of Victoria
harbour. The rooms are entered from an outside hallway/verandah.
and are large clean and comfortable. Management checks
by phone after arrival to make sure everything ios
satisfactory. Requests for information are responded to
readily.
The air conditioner/heating unit is very controllable,
the bathrooms are clean and well appointed with drains
that work!
The facility is quite close to the downtown (5 minutes
by car; 10 minutes by direct public transit)....so you
have the advantage of being close to nature but with
ready access to the city.
I stay in Victoria one night per week because of my work
as a psychologist. I chose this motel over 5 others
which I tried. This one overall was, by far, the most
satisfactory.
P.S My wife and one of my daughters stayed with me on
one occasion and they would echo my remarks..

Accommodations for Couples The room at the Travelodge
was simple, comfortable with a bathroom on the smaller
side. Location allowed quick access to downtown via car.
The thing that will bring me back to this hotel when i
next visit Victoria was the approach the front desk
staff used, they were 'human' in their dealings with me
and when i asked if i could be a little late checking
out by one hour they wished me a nice run and were most
accommodating.

Accommodations for Couples Spotless, quiet, nice view of
the Gorge (make sure you ask for a room with a view),
roomy accommodation with kitchen area (unexpected
surprise). Room very dark. We were on the top floor, so
the view of The Gorge out the window and on the outside
verandah/walkway was pretty good and no street noise.
Some staff were very helpful, others a bit chilly. The
pub was just okay and there are few decent restaurants
nearby. But what is terrific is the nearby walk on a
section of the Galloping Goose trail, including a scenic
bridge across the Gorge. This place was an unexpected
surprise and excellent value for the money. As much as
you can expect from a two-star motel

Accommodations for Couples It started off badly--we
missed our ferry from Port Angeles by 20 minutes and
figured we had forfeited our "prepaid" room for that
night. The next day we arrived mid-morning, before most
hotels will let you check in. At the front desk was a
nice young man named Peter who told me the room had been
cancelled and my credit card was not charged. He offered
me the same special Internet rate and allowed me to add
a night on instead of forfeiting the night we'd missed.
He also called the housekeeper (who answered his call
right away) who cheerfully told him our room was ready.
As if that wasn't enough, the room was immaculate--and
that is coming from someone who has truly stayed in such
hotels as the Swiss Hotel in Berlin, the Steigenberger
Airport in Frankfurt, and the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
After checking in we were pleasantly surprised to see
the dog park across the street, the very comfy beds, and
the housekeeping cart with fresh bedspreads loaded on
them.
I was very disappointed that I hadn't brought my bathing
suit once I saw the huge swimming pool and we both
enjoyed the exercise room.
We will stay here again.

Accommodations for Friends getaway I stayed for one
night at the Victoria Travelodge. I was pleasantly
surprised at check-in by being upgraded to a larger room
with a full kitchen (a pity that my friend and I weren't
staying longer to use it!). The rooms were clean, and
the beds were very comfortable.
I'm not sure how easy this hotel would be to get to
using public transportation. My friend and I drove, and
we found it easily by car. I didn't deal with the staff
that much, but with those that I did, they were friendly
and professional.
It's close to a nearby park that looks out on the water.
My friend and I--both females--felt safe walking down to
the park during the evening and spending some time
looking at the water. Nice hotel, safe area, no
complaints

The hotel grounds slope to the rear so pick the same
floor as the lobby to make hauling in your luggage a bit
easier. If you park on the side, you will have a lot of
stairs to climb. We selected a one bedroom suite with 2
fold-out couches in the living room. The suite came with
a furnished kitchenette that worked great. The best
views of the inlet and the parliament buildings are from
the rooms at the rear of the hotel on the east side. The
hotel is pet-friendly for a modest fee.

I have stayed at many hotel, both high and low end. I
was so surprised to walk into this Travelodge to see how
clean and new every thing in the room was. there was a
park across the street. It was only a small distance
from down town Victoria. Since its off the main path it
was so quiet. I rate this Travelodge 10 out of 10. I
traveled with my 2 teenaged daughter and our pet and we
all felt this was the best out all, this holiday. I am
sure if you stay there you will be very pleased.

We arrived late, and were apparently given the last room
available, I would have preferred to stay in the car.
Maybe because it was the last room available, they leave
the worst for last, but they should not have rented that
room out.
The smell was enough to make us gag, but it was late and
our 2 small kids were tired, and so we stayed. We
thought if we left the door open for a while, it would
dissipate, but it didn't.
Most of the electrical outlets did not work, and even to
make coffee, we had to move the machine to another
outlet. Two of the lamps were burnt out.
In the morning, the restaurant only had one server
working, our order was not correct, and it took forever.
Two tables even left before getting served.
We complained in the AM to the Desk Clerk. We were given
a small discount, but really, we should have had that
room for at least 1/2 price. |
