Reviews of the Blue Ridge Inn Victoria

I stayed at the Blue Ridge Inn with my husband and three year old son for two
weeks and it was excellent. I've seen that people have knocked this place and
I'd have to say, 'What were you expecting for your money?!!' We thought it was
very good value for money (negotiate a weekly rate if you're there for a length
of time).
It's clean (they made the beds every day, restocked the coffee, sugar etc in the
kitchenette and gave us a new dishcloth and tea towel every day, and they
thoroughly cleaned the suite twice a week). We had a suite which had a separate
bedroom for our son and it was perfect - meant when he went to bed, we could
still use the living room with TV (his room also had TV), dining table,
kitchenette and bathroom. A perfect arrangement for families at a fantastic
price.
It also has a laundry with a washer and dryer ($2 each, and they sell powder at
reception), which was a godsend for us as a family. That alone made it worth
staying!
The staff are friendly and helpful and we felt safe there and well cared for.
Parking was really easy and free, and I always felt safe being parked there.
Unlike other reviewers, I never saw a police car parked there once. From the
reviews I was expecting it to be shady but it wasn't in the slightest. It's not
in the centre of Victoria but it's not that far, either - a quick car or bus
ride away.
All in all, I really enjoyed staying there and in two weeks it became a home
from home. If and when we go back to Victoria, I'd stay there again. It's not
the height of luxury by any means, but you can make it your temporary home very
easily. Our son settled in quickly and really enjoyed sleeping in his 'brown
bedroom' (lol), and was perfectly happy there, too (a bonus for any parent of a
young child).

Although very clean, and the check in service was very good, this is a motel and
not a hotel !! The people on the front desk were extremely helpful and nice. The
location is very good, but sadly, the whole place is in need of a paint job and
some updating. The Butterbell cafe at the front of the motel does a great
breakfast at very reasonable cost - highly recommended.

The hotel was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They also
looked like they had a very good indoor pool from afar, but I did not go in the
pool. The neighborhood was kind of run-down and there were a lot of strip malls
in the area. The room was clean, we had a microwave and a fridge, and the
bathroom was in excellent condition. However, when we went to sleep, the walls
were pretty thin and there was a used car lot across the street with very
powerful lights that we couldn't completely block out with the curtain.
Basically you get what you pay for. Pros: clean, bathroom in good condition,
microwave, mini fridge. Cons: run down neighborhood, across from used car lot
with powerful lights.

The Blue Ridge is great value for money in an easy to reach location. We were on
a bit of a small budget and this worked out perfectly. Get the 30 or 31 bus from
downtown and you are dropped off as good as outside the motel in just 15
minutes. It is down the main highway (Douglas Street) so is easy to reach by car
as well.
The staff were warm and welcoming. We were given a twin with two double beds. It
was very spacious with all the amenities including small fridge. The TV had
countless channels to watch. There is also a swimming pool, which we didn't use
as we were only stayed one night.
Next to the motel is a small cafe that serves a good breakfast and more. There
is free public internet in the reception and free coffee.
If you want to spend loads than go downtown. If you want save and spend that
money whale watching than this place is ideal.

Have been to Victoria frequently (over 10 times) and the Blue Ridge gives you
the chance to spend your vacation money on other things. Great value, good
location. Just behind a shopping mall, close to a bus stop, eateries and just a
few minutes from downtown/Inner Harbour. And it also has a heated pool! Great
way to unwind after a busy day of business/sightseeing. Friendly staff who are
very helpful to meet your needs.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We just need a place to stay overnight and we
had our pet dog with us. It was really nice and comfortable staying here, room
was very clean, there's a small fridge, a microwave oven, cable tv, electric
fan, near the mall, and lots of dining and restaurant around it.
There is also a heated pool but we are unable to use it maybe next time we check
in.
Although internet speed is not that fast, only good for checking emails.

I stayed 2 nights at the Blue Ridge and found it very nice and clean and
reasonably priced. The room had a microwave and fridge and although there is no
AC there were two windows for air flow, a fan and my room was located by some
trees; although it was a hot week in Victoria the room remained comfortable.
There are 2 restaurants located right by the Inn and Mayfair mall is right
across the street. It is not right downtown on Douglas but it is easy to get
there by car or bus. The staff were all friendly and accommodating and there is
an indoor swimming pool and laundry facilities on site.

good location. Comfy beds. Clean rooms. Even the noise wasn't that bed, mind you
it wasn't on a weekend this time around. We love being right across the street
from the Mayfair Mall and just minutes from downtown. great value if you have a
car and dont mind 5-10 minute trips here and there. |
