Hotel review of the Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites
Feb 26, 2011
We had planned a trip to Victoria for Christmas shopping and were picking up the
Mother in law at the airport. We decided to enjoy one extra night before MIL
arrived and booked a king room. Parking was very tight with our truck, very
tight. We checked in, terrific service, and got to our room... the room was very
well appointed, but incredibly small! This didn't matter to us much as we were
there to go shopping and swimming with the little one. I always book a hotel
with a pool for our 4 year old daughter. The room was quiet and the bed was
comfortable. Bathroom was okay, but the water pressure was almost non-existent
and my face got burned from the zap of unexpected hot water during my shower.
The water fluctuated from cold to hot a lot. Blech. But, we were checking into
the 2 bedroom suite that day, so I didn't mention anything to the hotel staff
about this. I'm sure if I had, they'd have been accommodating.
The 2 bedroom suite was completely wonderful! WOW! The king bedroom was
spacious, very clean and the second bedroom was also quite large (with a queen)
and the rest of the unit (two bathrooms!) was totally spotless. We had a very
small kitchenette with a microwave and counter top stove, fridge, and clean
well-kept kitchen supplies. Oh, and a microwave. For our 3 nights in this room,
this was an excellent option. The living room was large, the dining area ample,
and the deck! WOW, the deck. Our daughter so enjoyed going out there and it was
completely safe. Very quiet, although, I can see in the summer months that it
may be loud due to the bar across the street. Bathroom water pressure was
awesome and there wasn't a single issue of temperature fluctuations. I think
that may be due to being located higher up in the hotel, or maybe because it was
a 2 bedroom suite.
The swimming pool was awesome and the hot tub terrific. We were really impressed
with the pool's decor. Small change room, however, but that was okay. They
provided towels as well.
We got a reasonable rate for this 2 bedroom hotel room and I'd absolutely
recommend this place to anyone. The location was terrific as well. Easy walking
distance to everything. Definite highlight and we'll be back for sure - in the
suite, however, not the standard rooms.

We really enjoyed our stay here, with our 15mth old daughter. The staff are
incredibly accommodating, and were so flexible with parking, late check out,
maps, and general Victoria advice. The rooms are super clean, and very
comfortable. Not particularly flashy or modern, but absolutely comfortable with
more than enough room for 3 of us. I would advise asking for a room away from
the lifts if you would like a quiet stay, as there were quite a few loud
conversations just out our front door.
The location is great, easy to walk to everything and it was nice being able to
pop back to the hotel in between visiting the Museum or the shops. The welcome
is very warm, and we would definitely stay again.
We got a great deal through BC Ferries, so try that out if you're travelling via
ferry.

Thank you for your review. We are a family run hotel so it is always nice to
here families like the feel of the place. It is always nice to share comment
about our staff to our staff so I will certainly pass that on as well. I am also
grateful to know you used BC Ferries Vacations to book. We are working allot
with them now and they do help to make the trip from the mainland more
affordable.
Thank you again.

I travelled here with my team late October for the second time in 2010. The
first was in April and both times were great. I find their beds so comfortable
and they were able to accommodate the large group. The location was great, the
staff was friendly... what more can you ask for!
We went to Pescatories for dinner twice and we loved the food both times.
