located right on the harbour, an ideal location for all local amenities and
services and for seeing the surrounding area - staff extremely helpful and
courteous and rooms were excellent as was food and service in the dining room -
we would have no hesitation in returning here in the future - great value for
money

The service was great, the rooms (we had two) were comfortable, and the view
marvelous. We found the Swiftsure restaurant very good, especially breakfast -
and the service there was great. Everyone was very pleasant, and made our stay
(two nights) delightful. We will certainly come back

We had a corner room overlooking the dock where the Coho ferry to Anacortes
loads across the street. Central to everything around the Inner Harbour. Clean
and quiet with a very friendly staff, both in the hotel and the attached
restaurant. Great view and plenty of paths and sidewalks for walking. Also there
are small crafts the tour the harbour and are interesting and fun to get around.
Also free parking while at the hotel is a bonus and is the exception at hotels
around that area. Would definitely stay there again!

Checked in on short notice. The staff were very helpful and the location is
right downtown. Perfect!
Everyone we encountered at the hotel was very professional. We didn’t encounter
any problems or have any issues during our stay at all.

Was able to book a room with a view of the Harbor for $99. Basic no frills room
with no AC or fridge. Had a strong antiseptic smell when we first entered the
room. Had to open the window for a little bit and use the fan to ventilate. The
view was nice but was slightly offset by having to see the roof of the
restaurant from our second floor room. Didn't look too great. Looks like they
using gravel to make it look like a planter but, it just looked dirty. Would
have preferred a third floor room. Walls were thin so the noisy neighbors with
the kids woke us up at 6:00 a.m.
On the plus side, the staff was very courteous and helpful and the restaurant on
the ground floor was pretty good. You can have a choice of complimentary
continental breakfast or get $4 credit toward a full breakfast. The location is
very convenient with the Empress less than a five minute walk away. Plenty of
parking in the back and there is a liquor store in the back where you can get
beverages.
If you need just a basic room, the Days Inn will do...

This hotel in right on the harbor, and looked so inviting in the pictures, but I
was wrong. At over $150, this was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during
our trip. The room was one of the smallest I've ever been in. Barely room for
our luggage. No fridge, no microwave, no air conditioning. They did throw in a
small fan though... It was very hot and when I tried to place the fan by the
window, I could see the screen looked kind of rusty, when I rubbed it a bit, the
"rust' came off. It was just very dirty. I used a washcloth to clean it so we
could get some air, but it hardly helped. To be fair, we were there during a
heat wave, but still, that screen was gross!
I will sure look for a better place next time!

My family stayed here in early Feb. Cold time of the year with the fountain in
front of the government building freezing over. Heating provided in the rooms
are the heating pipe type instead of fan heater. We were given a room on the 4th
floor, which hadn't been pre-heated. After half an hour it was still cold inside
the room. I advised the front desk about this and was given another room on the
4th floor. After another half hour this room also hadn't warmed up. Down to the
front desk. Mike, the man on duty came up with and agree that it wasn't working.
He then gave us a room on the 3rd floor, but we didn't more our luggage at this
stage. Again no heat after an half hour. Mike then upgraded us to a suite on the
2nd floor and this room heated up almost immediately. Mike showed genuine
concern at all times and made each of the changes immediate and without
question. The rest of the night was nice and cozy.
Breakfast was poor, and was held in the restaurant. Juice, toast and coffee only
but you could pay $5.00 more for a full breakfast.
Would I say here again. Maybe, but some of the other hotels had winter specials
that were at the same rate.

My husbands company travels to Vancouver Island on business quite frequently. On
our most recent visit we had meetings in Victoria. We have stayed in a variety
of hotels/motels on the Island and in Victoria, but this time we were looking
for a hotel that was more convenient than some of the places we had chosen in
the past. A business acquaintance suggested the Days Inn. He mentioned that it
likely would more than meet our needs. When we travel we take our two small dogs
with us, and often it is difficult to find a place that is pet friendly, and we
were told that the Day Inn would allow us to bring our pets.
When we arrived at the hotel we were immediately met by a very pleasant young
woman who made us feel more than welcome, and during our stay it was more than
evident that all the staff (that we came in contact with) were very helpful,
efficient and more than willing to please. They directed us to parks close by
where we could walk our dogs, and even supplied them with treats on occasion. |
