Two friends and I left Portland, OR at 2:30 a.m. to arrive in Anacortes, WA for
the morning ferry to Victoria, BC. We drove directly to the hotel, wanting to
check in and freshen up before seeing the sights. We were told that check-in
time is 3 p.m., but we could check in before that time if we paid a $20 fee. We
were appalled! None of us had ever heard of such a thing. We asked if we could
at least drop our bags and have them held so we didn't have to worry about the
car getting broken into. They were willing to do that.
Since this was my first trip to Victoria, I booked this hotel after reading many
reviews. Orbitz was offering a special promotion, so we got a remarkable rate.
This hotel is not a good choice if you don't have a vehicle and plan to walk
from the ferry to your lodging and around town. However, it's only a short drive
away from Victoria Harbor, right off the highway and convenient to shopping. The
hotel offers free parking, and it was beneficial to have a car so we could drive
around and see more. We picked up a Gray Line bus brochure and with the help of
our GPS, followed their route through Victoria, then detoured through
neighborhoods for stops at some beaches and scenic points.
Once we checked in, we were very impressed. 3 of us shared a room with 2 queen
beds (there's no room for a roll-away bed). However, the room was spacious,
clean, and quiet (2nd floor, end of hall). Within 15 minutes of arriving, we
received a phone call from reception, inquiring whether we were happy with the
room, and asking if there was anything we needed. What a pleasant surprise - a
first for all of us! The room had a refrigerator and large flat-screen TV, as
well as a couple of terry bathrobes in the closet. The bathroom was also
spacious and clean, with a large walk-in shower instead of tub.
We all agreed that the beds and pillows were very comfortable, and we slept
well. Check-out isn't until 12:00, so if we not had to catch the morning ferry
home, we likely would have enjoyed sleeping in.
If you have a vehicle and are willing to drive a short distance to the area
around Victoria Harbor, staying here will save you a lot of money. We ate lunch
at Costco down the street - the burgers and smoked meat sandwich are huge and
delicious, and the French fries are the best in the universe (many people
ordered just fries).

This Sheraton is about a 15 minute drive from Victoria which turned out to be a
good thing; wouldn't want to stay on Highway 1 heading into town.
The bed was comfortable, the room was surprisingly quiet. Able to get a good
night's sleep. Unfortunately can't say much for the breakfast, would advise
going elsewhere for food. The girls at the front desk were especially friendly
and helpful. Nearby Olympic View Golf Course very good.

The Four Points Sheraton was adequate for our needs, as we didn't want to pay
the higher prices/parking fees to stay downtown. It is about a 15 minute drive
from downtown, so a decent option if you have a car. There are a few restaurants
nearby and a Costco next door. This hotel is also very close to Goldstream Park,
which is a great place for hiking.
We had requested a king room on the top floor when we made the reservation, but
instead we received 2 queens on the 2nd floor, so we were not impressed by the
quality of service. The rooms could also use updating. Our room was a little
tired and dark, with stains on the carpet.
The free internet and free parking were nice benefits, and the room was quiet,
but overall we'd probably stay downtown next time.

Spent a weekend in Victoria with rest of my family and stayed at the Four Points
Victoria Gateway which turned out to be the perfect decision.
The staff were friendly and courteous at all times and room service was amazing.
We were greeted by the front desk staff upon arrival and check-in was a freeze.
Since we had two children with us, the bell boy took our luggage up into our
corner suite right away.
The suite was ample size for a family of four and kitchenette was very useful.
The hotel staff always available to bring up milk for the children.
The hotel is hidden away from the main road which helps block most of the
traffic noise.
We will definitely stay there again.

I really enjoyed our trip to Victoria. Nice restaurants close by. Staff was
friendly and courteous. We had young children with us- the pool was a nice
feature and the patio on the back for dinner was a nice place- close and decent
selection of food.

Everything was great except for the hallway carpets; it is true what other
people say the carpet needs to be change in the hallway. Parking at night is
hard because there isn't enough parking unless you want to park at the nearby
Costco. We went to their patio restaurant & they were able to accommodate our
group of 11 people. However, we were waiting for our food for an hour & half and
it still didn't come. We never heard anything from our waitress what's taking
the food so long. We have 3 children under the age of 5 & they were starving. I
ordered a burger with a side salad, usually they should have brought it already
ahead of the order, but nothing came. It wasn't crowded at all so there is no
other people ahead of us waiting for their food. Finally, we got up & left then
a minute later the servers came up & brought all the orders in. But it was too
late & we decided that we are better of at McDonalds. The management made it all
up by apologizing & also giving us a voucher for breakfast.

The staff and managers were extremely helpful and met every demand we threw at
them. After returning from a tiring day out we were always made to feel special
by the friendly greetings we received at the front desk. If we came across any
staff member in the hallways or foyer we were always greeted with a wonderful
smile and a polite hello. This hotel was recommended to me by my family who uses
this hotel every time they are in the area visiting my son. I give this hotel
