Opened the door to be greeted by a huge room (314). I was expecting a decent
size but my expectations were exceeded. Strolled over to the kitchen area
fancying a cup of tea and found four little milk pots in the fridge! A small
touch touch very well received after a long day, they were even replenished
during our stay.
Kitchen sufficiently stocked with pots, pans and utensils. Fridge was pretty
quiet, although didn't rival the awe inspiring frigid silence of the Sanyo in
another recent motel. Bed was king size and comfy. Couple of easy chairs and
table, also dining chairs and table. Bathroom was nice. General condition and
decor good but a little aged, fine by me as personally I'd rather pay a little
less and live without the shiny new furniture.
Hotel seemed to have lots of other guests but no noise from them in our room.
However the road outside is quite busy and even with the windows shut North
American muscle wagons invade considerably. Thankfully it gets quiet fairly
early (9ish) and doesn't start up until about 7am. Also while you're just a
couple of minutes from the harbour you're clear of its noise (bars etc).
Staff were friendly enough, not effusive or particularly warm but seemed fine.
The noise was the only point that might make me consider staying elsewhere. But
it's not that bad and if you're used to traffic noise don't hesitate to stay in
one of these great value rooms.

Our family booked 2 nights at Helm's except for young couple they booked one
night, hotel said "no" they booked 2 and did not show, so charged this young
family $150+ tax for a reservation they did not make!!! Parking, not enough
spaced, be prepared to park on street, we did and still be charged parking
charge. Found manager unfriendly, we stay in Victoria twice a year and will not
return to Helm's or recommend it to anyone.

Helm's Inn is just 5 walking minutes away from the Inner Harbour with all its
attractions, next to the famous Royal BC Museum, across the street to the
beautiful Beacon Hill Park, and easy to reach by car.
We had a quiet suite away from the street. It had an extra living room, a full
size kitchen plus bed room and bath
Everything was very clean and well kept.
This place is a great address for people staying longer, but we enjoyed just for
one night.
It has free parking and WiFi.

Our room was very nice, with well equipped kitchen and very conveniently
located. It's a shame we were only there for a night. Will certainly come back
and stay longer next time. Friendly staff, easy checkin. Everything went well. A
bit tight on check out.

We enjoyed our stay at Helm's Inn where we had a corner room that had a kitchen
and table by the window. We ate our breakfasts here and enjoyed looking outside.
We were able to walk everywhere but then we like to walk. The hotel is near the
park which was fun to explore. The employees were very helpful and friendly. We
would definitely stay here again.

Unfriendly staff on arrival. Studio room ok, just enough space to walk around
the bed. Good location for bc museum and bars. Very much over priced for what we
got.

This hotel has a fantastic location, helpful staff and the kitchenette facility
keeps the costs down. There is also wi-fi access. This was the best value place
that we stayed in Canada - why go anywhere else?
As well as a good general location, it is near the bus station and a minutes
walk from the Swartz Ferry buses.

We stayed at the Helm's Inn at the end of June and had a wonderful time. Great
location next to Beacon Hill Park and behind the BC Museum. Easy walking
distance to downtown. It does not have an elevator, but other than that, comfy
rooms, nice kitchen and bathrooms and just a nice "feel". We will go again, and
stay longer!!!

Helm's Inn is the perfect place to stay! Location is within easy walking
distance of major Victoria restaurants/shopping. Rooms are large, very clean.
Our kitchenette was very useful for the refrigerator and making tea. Staff were
extremely helpful and friendly.

We booked a studio at Helms Inn and received a real apartment (kitchen, separate
living, 2 televisions). Just a superb apartment with balcony, fridge, microwave,
plenty of space. They give no breakfast but we found a nice restaurant (West
Coast Grill also at Douglas street which gave us what we sought)
