We got an upgrade to a luxury suite during our mid-week stay. The front desk was extremely helpful and friendly planning out our activities around Victoria. The room temp was very comfortable (NO AC). If you feel stuffy fans were in the bedroom and living room area. Walking distance to downtown and ferry line. Great Whale watching package booked with the Prince of Wales through the hotel. While on the boat Sept. 22nd we saw the "Super POD" over 80 orcas off San Juan Islands. Our tour guide stated she was with the company for 4 years and never saw the amount of whales like we saw this afternoon. We'll highly recommend the Royal Scot to family and friends traveling through Victoria.

We stayed here for 4 nights in September. We were guided in our choice by  reviews and we were not disappointed. The hotel is well placed, about 5 minutes walk from the harbour in Victoria. We were surprised that our apartment was so spacious, with a kitchen, bathroom , lounge and bedroom. We chose to self cater in this hotel although there was a good restaurant attached. There is a big supermarket about 15 minutes walk away. The hotel was excellent value for money and although the lounge and kitchen looked a little dated it was clean and well serviced. We would recommend this hotel.

Drove down to Victoria for a couple of nights mid-week break. Upon our arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded to a Studio Suite, which was a nice surprise. This hotel is in an ideal location for sightseeing in Victoria. We parked our car in their parking lot ($10/day) for 2 days and just "legged" it around Victoria as it's central to all the attractions. If needed, they have a shuttle bus that will take you to your desired location within the city and will pick you up for your return to the hotel.

The actual room was comfortable, clean and well appointed and the suites would be ideal for a family as it also had a kitchen with all necessary appliances etc.. We also found the hotel staff to be exceptionally friendly and obliging.

We would definitely stay at the Royal Scot again and I wldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

I thought it was in a convenient location, just around from the wax museum, and an easy walk to attractions, Empress, etc. The room was clean and fine, no complaints. It was not the cheapest but not overly expensive either (I could not get into the cheaper hotels as they were booked up). Has indoor pool & hot tub that we had to ourselves for the most part, no kids hanging out in the pool - a definite plus! They have a fun game room complete with TV, piano and tons of games. The hotel restaurant was ok, good enough to get started with anyways. I would definitely stay here again.

Our suite was the best hotel suite we've ever stayed in. My wife especially appreciated all the reading options and found a couple of new authors she likes! Everything was immaculately clean. Coming back to this suite at night was just like coming home. Parking was easy. The location (a block away from the Parliament building) was spectacular. They offered a shuttle to run you to and from downtown tourist locations. The couch and easy chairs were extremely comfortable while watching the huge TV. The kitchen was well supplied. The bedroom was lovely and comfortable with extra blankets and pillows easily available. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The architecture is not modern; the hotel has a slightly dated feel. But that added to the charm. We loved staying here and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Everything was Great. The staff is one of a kind. It is not outdated as someone said, It is what all hotels should be.
Thank You for having us as your guests. Kudos to all the citizens of Victoria.

The location IS great and the hotel is clean. However, when reviewing other hotels in the area I'm not sure this is that best bang for your buck. The room/suite (called a deluxe guest room) was oddly laid out, two chairs in a long, narrow passage way. It appears that it had not been redecorated since the late 80's or early 90's. I wonder if we got a dumpier room for using a AAA membership discount...someone has to get the bottom room. Very poor lighting in the rooms, but the bed slept well.

The Royal Scot is located just around the corner from the Parliament Buildings in Victoria. The location is very convenient for walking to tourist attractions, but also located on a quiet street. The hotel is very well run. Our suite was roomy and had everything we needed. It was perfect for our family of four. Our teenagers enjoyed the indoor pool. Parking is also available, but costs extra.

We stayed there for 2 nights with our little one. The room was ok. Oddly shaped and pretty outdated but that didn't matter. The hotel is very clean, no complaints about that at all. The front desk staff wasn't really the friendliest. It seemed like they learned their spiel and ran it down every time a customer came. Maybe I am picky there because I have been working many years in the same industry, but a little bit more friendliness and a smile wouldn't hurt. The ladies in housekeeping were super friendly though and always had a hello and would wish a nice day. The room was comfortable but the bed so squeeky that I was scared to turn around at night and waking up the baby. The location is perfect. We would come back.

Travelled from Vancouver to Victoria and stayed one night at Royal Scot then caught Clipper ferry to Seattle (2 min walk from ferry service). Great location - 5 minute walk from bus station. Also loved the hot tub. Room was very nice - included large LCD TV, fridge and sofa.
Would recommend.
